    Good Morning Ladies

While waiting for my "load" here at work, figured I'd take advantage of the time and check in.

So I definitely got my fill of the festivities on the boob tube yesterday.   A couple of us got the chance to tune in, we reminded ourselves that we we're witnessing our "new big boss" being sworn in.   I was quite surprised that my fellow co-workers that had the chance to watch his speech we're full of positive comments.

I had DVR 6 hours of NBC, so the dh and I watched together last night as well.

Funny thing with this Facebook thing ... I reacquainted over the weekend with a friend from hs via FB.  She was checking in from DC, shared some pictures and thoughts of their experience.  Pretty cool ... actually way cool ... they ended up in a museum watching a big screen as they about froze outdoors with their two younger kids.  They had started out (4) bigscreens back at The Mall.

So D1, I'll be looking forward to your account of the past couple of days.

Jules, great job on the facelift !!!   Someday I should get brave and try to use some color on our walls.   Leave it to you to piece together the pics !

Therese, got your PM ... I don't want to over saturate you with 3-Day "stuff", but I have more.  Great idea to attend a Get Started meeting.  I was so fortunate to have Ginny guiding me along as I was a 3-Day virgin.

Sounds like you are already hitting a great exercise regime.  You Go Gal !!!

I'm game for sharing rooms (or not) as long as I don't have to pack earplugs, !!!!!!!

Kimberly, so what's with the cold ... you had enough of it to share with the dh, Therese and now Paula ?!?!?!?

Better go ... Happy Hump Day ... Carol

Quick check in again this morning.  Carol, I watched some of the replay myself Tuesday night. I was just inspired by the faces of people from around the world, all with such hope in their eyes.

I know, my cold certainly did seem to expand. Who knew that typing on the computer would send cybergerms. LOL  Sorry you've been tackled by the bug, Therese and Paula.

Patty - Here's my idea.  I think everyone should take some time to do a little research, then present their best find by say, next weekend?  A little homework assignment.

Off to meet some kids for an early morning get my act together session.

    Hey Jewels,

Sitting here relaxing with dh. Sipping some wonderful flavored coffee that my SP sent to me a few weeks ago. (Thanks again, SP!)

I've got the blues this week. I know my whole family is in dire need of some grief counseling. The kids are both exhibiting stomach upset and ds is having sleeping problems. I'm in tears at the drop of a hat and poor dh... he can't even express what he's feeling.... I've contacted hospice and will have to talk to the onc. about a referral when we see him next week.

Carol, I've been reconnecting with so many folks on Facebook. One of the neatest contacts that I've made is an old high school classmate who I haven't seen in 15+ years... She has an online business that is just terrific. It is a website for women that features how-to videos on a variety of things for the home, the garden, cooking, entertaining, etc. There's even a section on there right now that teaches the fundamentals of football (very timely w/ the SuperBowl coming up!) Here's the link:

    http://www.howtv.tv/index.html

(BTW, Carol, if you love my accent, you'll get a real kick out of Pam's!)

Carla- nice to hear that dh is making some positive changes. I second the suggestion that now might be a good opportunity to get into some marriage counseling. Good luck!

Kimberly: leave it to you to give us homework! I don't know anything about Vegas and the only thing that really interests me about the area is the Grand Canyon... But I can surf the web with the best of 'em, so I'll give it a go.

Time to warm up my coffee... Have a good evening all

Hello Jewels, this will be short as I'm on a ferry to the Seattle side of the water and on my BB.

I'm meeting with a gal whom I did quite a few training walks with last year. We have not seen each other since about mile 58 of 60. I'm packing my pics of the walk to share. She as well is already signed up to do it again, despite some knarly blisters.

Paula, your one step in the right direction with acknowledging the need for some grief counseling. Having a go to person to "let er' all out" will probaby be good for each of you. Perhaps Hospice will have some input as to whom you can contact. A BIG cyberspace hug to you and your family.

Oh, I'll check out your friend's site tomorrow, I've scared myself thinking that some of the people I've virtually reacquainted with I have not seen in almost "30" years. I like to think that it's only been a few since graduation ... WoW !!!

Kimberly, homework eh ??? Hmmm I am the one who said she'd almost go camping to meet up with this group of ladies!!!! Good idea ... It should be interesting to see what our sister friends come up with. For me ... too many choices for a place with a nice pool area, spa, gym, restaraunts, and a little entertainment closeby !

Okay, posting before I lose this puppy.

    Night All, Carol

Just want to put my 2 cents in that I am interested in meeting in Vegas.  Have to check a few things and get caught up on all the details that you guys have been talking about.  A coworker of mine just moved from Vegas and the Mirage is a great place per her opinion.

Work keeps me busy and have fought a stomach bug for a week and just down in the dumps alot.  Trying to get myself back up.  See the onc next Friday and she will get an earful.  It will be a year in May the chemo is done and I am sure ready to not feel so crappy from the Taxotere.  I'm thinking it should really be gone by now.

I am on my own for most of the weekend so hoping to get caught up with the posts and be a more active member.  I am sure that would definitely lift my spirits.  You all have been such a big part of everything and even though I don't post all the time, I do read and lurk to see how you are.

Please have a bright, shiny, "jewely" day! Cool

Happy Friday night, Jewels! I'm sooooo looking forward to the weekend! Dh has decided he has to work most of the weekend, so I'll be hanging out with ds at home. I need to get some serious laundry done and would like to finish going through some old clothes. I've had another really stressful week and I'm just glad I have nothing "pressing" that must be done this weekend!

D1 - I was hoping to have an update from you about your inauguration experience!! Hope you check in soon! We were allowed to turn on our tv's in our classrooms and let the students watch all of the happenings. I turned it on during my Advisory period - right before he was sworn in. What an historical moment.

Sherry - glad you like the new job so far - hope it's still going well!

Carol - I know!! The FB site can be so addicting!! I try not to spend too much time on it, but I've reconnected with many high school friends and several cousins that I'd lost touch with after my mom's death almost 20 years ago. My sister and I also got my dad and brother to join!! Thanks for the update on Jenn - I hope she'll check in soon with us.

Kimberly - I plan to do my "homework" this weekend. I've done a little searching about LV, but haven't had much time. Hope you're feeling better by now!!

CHJ - Glad you like your new onc!

Carla - I'm so happy to hear that things are better at home!! I think the other Jewel's thoughts about getting into some marriage counseling would be a good idea - if he's really willing to do anything, he won't object to that request. I hope things continue to go well for you.

Paula - I can't even begin to imagine what you, Ed, and the kids are all going through. What an emotional roller coaster you've been on! I'm sure it would be helpful to talk with some experts about what everyone is feeling. I hope Hospice can help with that.

Deb - Yipppee! Another Jewel in Vegas!! Sorry to hear you've been sick and aren't feeling too well from your Taxotere. Sounds like being down in the dumps is a common se several of the Jewels are having to deal with from the various treatments. Hope your onc has some answers for you!

Thanks much, girls, for the comments on our finished room! I'm very pleased with it. The dark colors are definitely a new thing for me - we painted the entire house a light "taupe" when we moved in about 8 years ago. The basement room that I also posted is actually a finished room already - all the shelves/crap in there are things we've pulled out of the other rooms we're redoing. I'm planning to pull off the border and we're putting wainscot around the bottom of all of the walls. I'm still debating colors for that room.

Well, better get goin' -- I've got papers to grade!! Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

They have some Vegas rentals available -- what's the latest # planning to come? (Carol??) Check it out if you get a chance -- I'm going to look at it a little more tonight before I get busy grading.

Wow, the board has been hopping!

Kimberly - A friend of mine sent me some links on Indole 3 Carbinol. I haven't had much time to do a lot of research on it though.  I can forward you the links if you are interested.

On ds's project - we keep wondering how they could actually check them, too. They have very specific rules they have to follow, too. He claims past students have stuck $20 bills within the project and left notes for the teacher that they could keep it if they actually read it. Lol. The thing I liked about it was in his writings you could actually see that he "got" things that we hoped he would get about life and values etc. I know as much as he (and we) bitched about it, it will definitely be something he will treasure later in life.  ( He got his grade back yesterday and he got 101! so he was thrilled with that).

Carla - I like your new pic!

Kathy - Glad your deportation went well. Lol at dh's bday present comment!

Carol - Are you just rewatching Grey's Anatomy or starting it? In case you are up to date on it , all this business with Izzy drives me crazy - I think it is a horrible story line. Won't give you all the details in case you aren't there - just venting.

Paula - I have been praying for you, your dh and your children. I am glad your tests came back well and I am so sorry to hear of dh's decline. {{{{Hugs}}}}.  You are certainly one of the strongest women I have ever "met".

Patty - Nice to see your pictures - you look great!  I am not a football fan except for the Super Bowl, but we will be rooting for Steelers next weekend. Our town is split between Steelers, Browns and Bills - but mostly Steelers.

    Hello Wendy!

Cathy - Congrats on being done with the herceptin!

Joan - Congrats on the clear mammo - it's a relief isn't it?!

We decided pretty spur of the moment to redo our master bath which was in desperate need of a make over. We have a handyman that does a lot of work for us and ended up having it gutted. It is very small for a master bath and we had the tub taken out, put in a tiled shower and tile on the floor (it was carpet before which I couldn't stand), new vanity, shelves etc. So our br looks a mess with stuff stacked in there and we have been living out of tubs and containers. Should be done the beginning of the week though and it looks beautiful so far.

Went to the onc and gyn last week. Onc said I should have the ovaries out. He was meeting with two breast oncs in Pittsburgh a few days later and was going to just make sure they had no other suggestions. I was all set to just have everything taken out, but gyn says should just do the ovaries and tubes. She said if I haven't had any problems with the other parts, to leave them in. The surgery is much easier with just the ooph, there is not danger of injury to the other parts and they serve as "place holders" with less shifting go on in there. So right now I am scheduled for the ooph on March 25. She said it was only about a week recovery time.

My research time lately has been spent lately trying to figure out all the hormone information out there, now.  Has any one read anything by Dr. Erika Schwartz?  She seems to be a leader on biodentical hormones etc. I heard an interview with her and she is the first doctor I have ever heard who says she believes the pill can cause bc. She won't even prescribe it. She also says that if you have had bc you may still need to have hormone replacement (biodentical) in low does to get your body in balance.  I would LOVE to see her - but she has a 9 month wait for appointments! I am going to keep researching, but all this info hurts my head!

Dh says he is just about out of places to move the snow!  We are up over a 100" for the year I think. If I get a chance I will post a pic.

I am still a couple of pages back, but will catch up later. Have a great weekend, all!

In the middle of laundry here. Finishing up the church bulletin, which I publish every Saturday... and playing on Facebook, which I am quickly making a part of my daily life. It really is easy to see what's going on in the lives of the people you care about on there. Maybe not as personal as a phone call or letter, but very helpful in this busy world!

Nothing much new to add here... The blues seem to be linked to my having to stretch myself between my two worlds (home and work). I feel fine this weekend when I don't have that conflict (and feeling like I'm making the wrong choice).

Carol- glad you enjoyed the HOWTV.TV website. My fav. video clip is the remedy for snails (Get 'em drunk)

Julie- your animation expressed exactly how I was feeling yesterday. SO glad that the weekend is here! LOL at your ungraded papers... thanks for the LV link (is that cheating on the homework, Kimberly??)

Carla- hope you had an enjoyable breakfast with Sharon this morning. Thanks for the hug (aww, I luv Winnie!)

Deb- ((hug)) This winter seems to be bringing out the blues in many of us Jewels... I'm glad you're coming to Vegas!

Norma- congrats to ds on his great senior project grade. LOL at the $$ (lemme tell ya, I'd have found that-- my kids grouse all the time that I don't let anything slip past!)

I see you've given us some new info to research. Thanks!

Okay, I really need to get with it. I have to get the laundry finished and be ready to go out as soon as ds gets home from work. Ed is doing well with the one hour checks during the week, but I'd rather someone is here... we try not to leave him on the weekends.

Have a great weekend all! Paula

just a fast check in, temp fixed my computer, it's on the way out the door, and anxiously waiting to get parts to build my new one......

The draining is pretty much stopped, finally, I still have some fluid in there but I'm goign to see if it leaves on its own.  Had 6 giggly 11 yr old girls over last night, my daughters b-day sleep over.  A few of them got to experience tp'ing for the first time.......It was payback from last year, Lauren's(dd)  teacher last year, brought her boys over and tp'd our house, so I told her I'd get her back one day.  life is good.

Time to go before this freezes up on me again and I lose everything.  Oh and Kim, a Zune is like an Ipod, but better in my son's opinion.  I forgot to reply back to that.

    tootles for now

    Good evening Jewels,

Got quite a list for Vegas.  I to will be flying solo and will be willing to save some bucks (for gamblin!) and share a room.  I am a vegas virgin and have no idea what would be a good hotel or area to stay in so I'll leave it up to the pros.

Paula I've been thinking of you and the fam a lot I hope some good will come your way soon you deserve it.

D1 how was the big show?  It looked awesome on the news and my gov't website some of my coworkers were there at the checkpoints doing searches.

    Hi Jewels,

I have been so busy and I have been reading to catch on on the post. Worked half the day today, then went to my mom's for a few hrs. Boy am I getting tired.

Kimberly  I hope your cold is better, I did not realize you were still sick. I'm still having problems with my ears. I'm wondering if it my ear set. Years ago when I was a CSR I had problems with ear infections from my headset. It had nickel in it. I thought maybe now they did not use nickel. (I don't know).

Julie  I love your house, you get a good job decorating, that basement looks great too. What a cute kitty. Ok Julie quit playing and get those papers graded. LOL Just kidding.

Deb  So glad you are doing well and you are back with us. Hope you are feeling better, boy I can relate it's great not have to have any more Taxotere treatments or Cytoxin. I'm glad it's behind us.

Kris  Get some rest, I know how exhausting it is to have lots of kids over. I really miss it now, I really don't think I minded it back then.

Paula  I don't know where you find the time to take care of you, teach and dh. Still find time to type the chruch bullitin. I wish I had your energy.

D1  Hope you enjoyed your trip to WA.

I'm too sleepy to read anymore, Just wanted to say hi to Carol.

    Good Night Jewels.

Hi girls! Almost 24 hours later and I JUST finished grading - ha ha ha! Not because I had a lot (only took about an hour) - just kept putting it off. Now that that's done, I'm back to playing on the computer tonight. Dh has been working all day - left about 6:00 a.m. - still not home. He's having to deal with a very poor top administration right now and has to "document" everything just to make sure no one comes back and says something was/wasn't done as he says. It makes so much more work for those people who actually do their jobs when they're working for incompetent leaders! Sorry - makes me mad. Yell

Carol - thanks for the updated list!! Wow - hope everyone can make it as planned! My dh has been working so much I haven't had time to chat with him about our plan. I'm thinking I'll most likely be solo for the Jewel time, then am hoping he can come for an early anniversary celebration (20 years in August) for the rest of that week.

Norma - WOW - awesome that ds did so great on his project!! I've never heard of such a thing!! What exactly do they have to include in it? How many seniors are in his class? We have over 500 in each class, so I can't even imagine someone having to grade all of those!

Holy cow!! Have you guys ever had the snow! Send some our way please!!??!!! All we've had so far is the "wintry mix" junk - no snow accumulations to even speak of. Forecast is calling for another batch of the wintry mix stuff next week, Monday - Wednesday.

So you're scheduled for the ooph! Interesting "take" from the doc on keeping the rest. Will they be doing the ooph laparoscopically? Good that you only have a week to recover!

Paula - You do your church bulletin on top of EVERYTHING else??!! You continue to amaze me! I'm glad you can take a break from school this weekend so you're not feeling all the extra pressure. I'm the same way with Facebook - love catching up with so many people I've had a hard time staying in touch with but think of often. Check out the link when you can - and, no, that's not cheating - it's called "using your resources." Wink

Kris - SO glad you checked in!! I've been worried about you! Sounds like you're doing well - glad to hear you survived the sleepover. Can't even imagine SIX 11-year old girls!!! I'd think that would be a lot of "bickering" to have to break up all night.

Hi Wendy! Good to see you on here again. I'm another "Vegas virgin" - no clue! I've been searching a lot but there's so much to read! Wooohooo on the girls night - I need one of those badly!!

Sherry - sorry to hear you're having trouble with your ears - I'd imagine wearing a headset for so many hours could certainly cause that. Hope you get it figured out. Try to get some rest when you can!

Well, better get some more work done. I haven't accomplished a whole lot today, but enjoyed a quiet day. I'm leaving tomorrow night for a 2-day technology conference in Missouri. I'm excited about it and am going with one of my newer teachers who has become a very good friend of mine. We're hoping to get some good shopping in on Monday night - if the weather cooperates!

    Night all!

You guys must wonder what happened to me.  I've been busy with my 28 page senior night program-getting bios from these kids, pictures, printing quotes, etc.  And now the girls' basketball coach has decided she wants to be in charge of senior night, so much of the work I've done has to be redone.  (Our coach is losing it.  At the game last Wednesday, one of her up and coming players forgot to bring her uniform to the game.  So instead of telling her to sit that game out-which would have taught the girl not to forget her uniform again-she asked one of the senior players who rarely gets in to the game to give her uniform to the forgetful player!  I cannot tell you how shocked the parents were when we saw the forgetful one take off her warmup to see her sporting a teammate's number.  The coach tried to make it up to the senior by buying her a Starbuck's card, to which the senior replied, "I don't want that."  The coach told her to take it as it would make the coach feel better.  Can you believe that coach is an adult????)

Inauguration.  What an experience!  Of course, nothing went as planned, but it didn't matter.  The Monday night reception was even changed up.  Dh told me not to wear the fuck me shoes as there was going to be a lot of walking.  So I dug out an old pair of suede pumps with a low chunky heel-didn't do great things for my legs, but were more practical.  Thank goodness I was willing to compromise fashion!  I Metroed in, but it took forever.  There was a crush of out-of-towners trying to use my sleepy little Metro stop and they were balling up the works.  I heard two trains take off while I was waiting in line just to have my card read.  So I finally get to my Metro stop and come above ground.  There were hoards of people everywhere.  There were many vendors hawking Obama stuff (pins, shirts, hats, socks, and yes, even Obama air fresheners for your car!).  There was no traffic in the streets as they had been closed and were completely clogged with people.  Many of whom were dressed up for the unofficial balls to be held that evening, but the ladies were carrying their shoes and had on Uggs for walking!  We went to two different receptions and ran in to lots of folks we knew.  We Metroed back home.

Tuesday morning, instead of getting up early to take a car to the Metro stop, we decided to risk trying to park that day.  We ended up parking in the neighborhood next to the Metro where the street parking is by permit only, but decided it must be a holiday, so the restrictions would not be enforced.  We got lucky.  It was only about a block and a half to the Metro.  So we get to the platform and it was six people deep (usually, if there are 10 people on our stop's platform, it's crowded).  The first train pulled in to the station and it was already so packed that no one from our station got on.  We got a great idea to take the next train headed OUT of DC and ride it to the end of the line and then turn around and come back.  It worked.  We even got to sit.  Good thing, as when we reached the end of the line, the train stayed in the station for 45 minutes!  And people packed on to it just as soon as we pulled in, so we were sardines for the entire time.  Eventually, it started moving, but since there were so many extra trains on the tracks, we had to wait 10-20 minutes at each station stop before continuing our journey.  At one stop we looked out the window and found some guy dressed up like Waldo, so he could do the "Where's Waldo?" thing in the crowd.  When we looked closer, we realized it was college girl's old photo teacher (she took 4 years of photo, so we got to know him).  We banged on the window and he came over and waved and hopped around to see us.  What a character.

Okay, we finally get to our Metro stop after spending about an hour and a half with the people in our car.  Everyone was in a great mood.  Whenever the car moved, we cheered.  There was singing and just general good vibes.  It felt wonderful.  And it made me so proud.  There were people that had come in from all over the US (even one woman from Senegal), we were all the colors of the rainbow, and yet, we all felt like one.  I can't imagine any other president-elect would have evoked that feeling.

Back to the story.  Now we faced about a 15 block walk to dh's office, which was within the .25 mile secure zone around the Capitol.  We supposedly had a separate gate to access his building-our social security numbers and info had been given to the secret service in mid-December for security-but the crowd was so huge it just carried us with it.  At one point, dh (who is 6'5"-handy for looking over everyone) saw a path of less resistance if we flattened ourselves against the side of a building and slid behind the bushes.  Oh yes, we did that.  Then we ended up back in the stream of humanity.  Since dh is so tall, people were handing their cameras to him so he could take pictures of the crowds.  Again, everyone was jolly, even though we were so tightly jammed together that all you had to do was lift your feet every once in a while and the crowd moved you along.  We finally arrived at our separate entrance (I'm not sure how, I don't think if I'd been on my own that I would have made it) and found security to be a breeze (at least for us, but remember, we'd been cleared the month before and that paid off big time).

Once in his office, we had a view of the Capitol out of the window and dh tuned his computer to CNN, so we just swiveled our heads around and got the TV coverage, too.  The motorcade with Obama and Bush went right in front of the building and we could see them waving from the windows.  Then, with binoculars, we could see Aretha (she wasn't as good as I expected), Joe take the oath, and then Obama take the oath.  It was so cool to watch the Obamas say goodbye to the Bushes on TV (that took place on the other side of the Capitol building, so we couldn't watch it real time), then we turned around and saw the helicopter clear the Capitol dome on its way to Andrews Air Force Base.  Unbelieveable.

We then wandered up to the building's rooftop only to find a couple of news crews set up for broadcasts.  At first, we didn't recognize the on-air talent and suddenly realized that one of them was Rev. Al Sharpton.  Dd loves the Rev (frankly, I find it hard to believe that a 17yo kid even knows who he is, but then it's my strange dd we're talking about), so she lined herself up to take a photo so it looked like they were together.  Dh obliged by taking the shot.  I think it now adorns her Facebook page...

Then we went back into the building and chilled and ate (now here's where it was great to be in dh's office!) until the parade was to begin.  The parade did not go by the office, but the presidential motorcade did on its way to join the parade.  You could see both the Obamas and the Bidens in their limos waving as they went by.   And the street was lined with uniformed military personnel from all branches of the military and they all saluted as the cars went by.  Way cool.

Once the parade got underway, we decided it was our time to leave.  Most of the swearing in crowd had dispersed (we watched them leaving from our perch), and we figured the rest of the folk would be at the parade.  Well, the streets were still closed to traffic, so they were filled with people, but we were able to get around.  The only difficulty was we kept running in to roadblocks, so we'd have to walk several blocks the wrong direction to get to our destination.  Our plan was to walk along the Metro line till we found a station that wasn't all crowded ABOVE ground (cause that would mean crowds on the platforms below).  After stopping along the way to buy pins and t-shirts (the prices came way down after the ceremony was over), we finally found a stop that looked to be operating as normal.  Lo and behold, even though the platform was three people deep, the first train that came in to the station was our line and all those people were waiting for a different line.  So we hopped right on.  We had to stand, but who cared?  We had an uneventful trip to our little outpost and got in our car for home.  We were exhilarated and exhausted simultaneously.  And we saw history first-hand.  All I can say is, God Bless America.

I should really read through everyone's posts, but I doubt anyone would want this post to get any longer, so I'll do it later.  But please know I was thinking about you guys all day long.

    Later, gang.

    Hi Jewels,

D1 that was so awesome!  I'm really glad you got to see what you did. What a life experience! I only wish I was there too. Except for the crowds, it sounded great. Our school had the swearing in and the speech streaming on the Internet so I got to see some of it live. But I did tape the whole day on dvd and spent Tuesday evening watching it. It was very moving and well done to say the least. It was great saying Ba-bye to Bush!

Vegas - July 12-15 works for me! I've been searching airline prices and they are not too bad. I would love to see a show,  have at least one group dinner, and definitely relax by the pool. I'm very flexible about activities. The side trip to the Grand Canyon and/or Hoover Dam anyone? However when I travel alone, I like to have my own room and always pay the single supplement. I hope that is OK with everyone.

It is so cold today here in upstate NY. It was -2 degrees this morning. Lucy still went out and did her thing. She looks so cute after the groomers yesterday. I will update the picture soon.

    Later,

Good Sunday morning, Jewels.  Hope everyone is keeping warm!  We’re once again in the deep freeze.  DH was in Denver most of last week…temps in the 60’s, think one day it even hit 72!!  Crazy!!  He wasn’t a bit happy about returning to MN.

Well, good news!  After two weeks on the market, we received an offer on our home last Monday.  After a few counters, we accepted it!  We’ll have an inspection tomorrow and barring any unforeseen issues, it’ll be a done deal.  Stay tuned!

Paula – Dear, sending lots of good wishes your way.  Think of you and your family every day.  Stay strong, friend.

Kimberly – Glad to hear you’re feeling like you again.  I haven’t done my homework, yet.  But, I have used VRBO (think Julie asked about vacationrentals.com) on multiple occasions, in CA, AZ, CO, northern MN and WI.  Never had a bad experience.

Jules – Loved the pics of your remodeled room.  Very nice, I like the “bolder” colors!  Have also been liking looking at the pics that are on FB.  Your DS is really a good looking kid.  What was the performance that he’s in a tux for?

Norma – Holy cow!  Finding a place for the snow is a challenge isn’t it?  Re: hormones, I was watching Oprah one day recently when they were discussing hormones, on the program was a Dr. Northrop who authored, “The Wisdom of Menopause”.  Appeared to have a lot of good information on bio-identical vs. synthetic.  Also, I got the same position from my onco, only doing the ooph and leaving the rest.

Kathy – Glad to hear you were deported successfully!

D1 – WOW!  You were PART of history!!  Incredible!!  Thanks for the “birds’ eye” view!  You were truly brave to get between a wall and a mass of people, it's so cool everyone was so happy.

Joan – Great idea about the side trip to Hoover Dam, some family members say it’s a sight to behold.  My folks have said the Blue Man Group is really fun, although pricey.

Have a great day, friends.  TTYL

    Good Sunday morning gang,

Yesty, Greg and I went to Sonoma, in the Napa Valley, to pick up a large print photo we purchased from a gal we had bought two other prints from years ago at a street faire in Sausalito. She travels to mostly Asian, African, and Middle Eastern areas, and focuses on the local people. We fell in love with two immediately. They were of Tuareg. At the time, we paid $50 each for unframed 8x10s. The colors are so vivid...oranges of the sands, blues of the headscarves, and faces that are so expressive and beautiful. Anyway, this is a 16x20 of the dunes and a nomadic tribe. You see mostly the orange dunes, and then the line of camels and people walking along some invisible trail with specks of bright blue. It's breathtaking...well at least to us. Lisa  has a gallery now in Sonoma, so this print wasn't a mere $50, but she did sign it, and to us it was worth it. Doing our part to stimulate the economy, right? LOL

Afterwards, we visited a unique little artists village and had lunch, then drove home.

Now, laundry is going (Paula yours must be done by now), I've been to Facebook to add friends from the Jewels, and have not had time to really play with that site yet. It does look as if it could be a great way to reconnect with people, but my concern is how to fit it into an already busy day with email, our thread, and now Facebook. I guess I could just cancel my email account and go directly to Facebook. That would certainly cut down on the junk email I got. Hmmmm, a consideration.

So, what's up with the Jewels?

Paula - I am so sorry that you and your family are in this situation. I agree that counseling would be a big help to you all at this crossroad. I know that Hospice was a fabulous resource to my family while my mom battled pancreatic cancer and my grandfather, who lived with Greg and I, lung cancer. (((((HUGS)))).

I'm thinking, you are excused from doing your homework assignment. You've got way too much on your plate...unless you find it a welcome distraction of course.

Carol - So how did you visit with your 3Day walking buddy go?

Jules - I've been sleeping in too much on weekends. I'm still pretty tired from this lovely virus that just won't let go. Hope you had a great relaxing Saturday.

Grading papers? Thought you said you had nothing pressing to do after your stressful week? Ugh!!!! Glad you got them done. I was so excited to not have anything to grade this weekend.

We are getting ready for the 7th grade writing test starting next week. The test is March 3rd, so we are just going to focus on that for the next month.

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out. And no Paula it isn't cheating on the homework. It's helping. You're still going to the site to find out what it has to offer, so technically, it isn't cheating. LOL

A conference in Missouri sounds like a nice break. How did your district afford that? We are on budget freeze in CA. No money due to our state gov't not yet passing a budget.
Man, if we did our jobs like that, we'd be fired!

Carla - How are things going with the dh? I know you mentioned Sharon, Georgia's mommy, but can you refresh my memory? I love buckwheat pancakes. We just bought some buckwheat hot cereal at Whole Foods yesterday. Looking forward to trying that.

Deb - WhooHoo, so glad you're going to join us in LV. I know what you mean about still not feeling like my old self. So what are your lasting se's? Mine, achy a lot, stiff when I get up after sitting too long, still foggy headed, low energy, neuropathy in fingers and toes, and my stomach/digestive tract still just isn't right. Let us know how things go with the onc. I see mine on Thursday.

Norma - Do send me the links as I'd be interested in researching anything that would prevent me from having to take drugs after my ooph and hysterectomy. I totally understand the point of view about not removing the uterus, but with my family history of cancer (breast, pancreas, and prostate) I'm not taking any chances of endometrial or cervical cancer either.

My twinsis and I have been talking about bioidentical hormones lately. Oprah did a big show on it. I haven't heard of Dr. Schwartz, but if she could give you information about using bioidentical hormones as ERPR positive breast cancer survivors to combat the se's of menopause, I am all over that!!!!

Whoohoo, for the ds on earning 101 points on his project. I can see where it would be quite a keepsake after all that work, and isn't great when your kids finally get the messages we've been sending for years? LOL on the bribes for reading their projects...I felt that way about my Master's Thesis, which by the way had typos my editor nor I caught after staring at that damn paper for months... I was so sick of it.

Your bathroom remodel sounds like it is just what you needed, more room and updated.

100" of snow and winter isn't even over yet. Dang! We're just thrilled it rained this weekend.

Kris - Hysterical about teaching the 11 year olds to tp a house!!!!

Thank goodness the drainage is almost done. So, other than that, how are the girls? My issues are that my chest muscles are always tight bringing my shoulders down and feeling tight across the back of my neck and shoulders all the time. I'm constantly stretching. Also, hugs from the huggee's point of view must be uncomfortable. Like two hard mounds on my chest. OH well, I look good in clothes. LOL

Yummy, my dh just brought me breakfast...no buckwheat hot cereal this morning. Eggs, bacon, and a whole wheat croissant with a cup of pineapple.

Wendy - Whoohoo, another Jewel on board for Vegas!!!! What was the occasion for the girls night out? How fun.

Hey Sherry, yep, still dealing with the dregs of this virus. Sorry to hear about your ears. Headsets...that makes sense that bacteria would hang out there and then get into our ears. Get that checked out. Don't want it to get into the inner ear.

Patty - What an aweful dream, but that is how our psyche's get rid of anxiety and tries to tie up loose ends. I got this lovely virus the day I started chemo last year...January 8th. Weird huh? I know we all understand the underlying fear that cancer may come back, but the good news is that today, you're cancer free.

On the MRIs, false positives or false clean bills of health?

D1- Welcome back. Geez, the BB coach does sound like she's losing it as far as making sound judgment calls. And, why does the coach all of a sudden want to take over after giving the job to you, and why must all the work you've done be redone? That doesn't make sense at all. You must be just frustrated beyond belief.

Making another player take off her uniform and give it to another player? I wouldn't have taken off my uniform. What was she afraid of, not being played? I know it's hard for kids to stand up for themselves, but that just wasn't right. The other girl needed to learn a lesson. Besides, how does that effect the stats if you aren't wearing your own number? Do you have to tell officials your player forgot her uniform and is wearing someone one else's. Winning seemed to be more important than teaching the life lesson here.

Wow, what a journey to the inauguration. Love the Where's Waldo photo teacher. Did you click a pic? How exciting the be right there close enough to see, even if it was with binoculars, history being made.

mumayan-kathleen - Did you post on the correct thread? Not sure where you want to fly to nor what event you're talking about joining.

Joan - Of course it's OK to have your own room. I only mentioned it, so those who may not have come due to cost, might be more able if they know others are willing to share a room.

Tina - Hey, good to see you, and WOW, sold the house already? That is fantastic. Of course, being in the location you are, it was bound to happen quickly.
So, you're off to Colorado in a mere 30 to 90 days depending on the length of escrow eh?

    OK. all caught up.

Hope to check in this week like I did last. We shall see.
SIS Kimberly...I am going to do my homework now.

OK on http://go.travelpn.com, I looked at packages flight from Sacramento and hotel. All single occupancy prices.

Planet Hollywood was $464, but the amenities weren't as impressive as other hotels.

Bellagio was $710 for Lakeview room. It had pool, spa, casino, restaurants, and shows.

The Mirage will be under renovations starting in Feb. so, didn't think we wanted to deal with construction.   $512. Lots of ammenities.

Mandalay Bay looks perfect: $473 includes taxes and fees. 11 acre sand and surf area with rentable cabana's plus a lazy river, D1, 3 swimming pools, jacuzzi, spa, fitness center, restaurants, casino, and on the strip for easy access to other hotels/casinos.  The rooms look really nice. Their new addition The Hotel at Mandalay is $595.40 excluding taxes and fees. It is connected by a walkway to the main hotel.

    Check it out.

I still haven't caught up with all the posts regarding Vegas so if anyone can fill in details on what people are thinking, that would be great.  July 12th thru the 15th sounds awesome.  Was looking at Travelocity for combined hotel and airfare and some didn't seem too bad.  I will probably be bringing my dp with me.  Kind of a late 13 year anniversary.  I also have a coworker that just moved from there and she said she is more than willing to let us know what places are like if we narrow it down.  It seems we have some other Vegas pros on this message board too.  Watched a show on the travel channel this morning and it had the Bellagio buffett on there.  YUMMY!  I think I see buffets in our future.  A side trip to Grand Canyon might be cool.  I have been to Vegas twice for short trips but never have seen the Canyon.  Might save me from the Slot Machines!

SISKimberly - sounds like we are having some of the same se's.  Neuropathy, feeling like I am 90 years old after sitting a long time and the GI tract problems. I had reached a point where my gut was getting back to normal but this month has been real bad.  And some depression but I think that is from chronic pain in my legs and trying to quit taking pain meds. I am sick of taking medicine and haven't had a beer or glass of wine in over a year.  It is long overdue. Legs get to feeling like I would imagine restless legs is if I don't take pain meds.  And I am hoping that my onc will agree to let me get my port out.  Tired of that reminder too. Anyway, I will be thinking about you Thursday as you see your onc.  I will be giving mine an earful Friday.

Joan - Of course you can enjoy your own room.  I usually do the same but think I am bringing my partner since she has never seen Vegas.

Well, the Lady Razorbacks basketball team is actually going to be on TV so I will catch ya'll later!

Oh, and check out my new signature......it reminded me of all of us.

    Happy Sunday,

Boy with the blink of an eye, the weekend seems to fly by. Although we are not anywhere near as cold as some of you, it is rather "nipply" out this morning as I grabbed some wood for the fire. Even the dh doesn't want to hit the golf course today ! So lucky me, I am getting a honey-do that I've wanted for some time completed today. An electrical outlet in the floor between our two recliners. Yeah no more extension cord wrapped around my chair to the wall !!! My ears are perked up listening as I told the dh give a holler upstairs if he needed any help.

In the mean time ... thought I'd pass on to any of you that may have had or are planning on massage therapy at some point in time. Last week I decided to have the therapist actually work on my mastectomy site. This area has been more than off limits to anyone for well over a year now (heck I don't even like the sensation of myself putting lotion on the area). Anyhow ... the evening after having this massage, I was more than a bit nauseous. I think I mentioned having some GI distress last weekend. Well as I went back in for my massage this week she asked how I felt ... I responded that I had literally gotten sick to my stomach. According to her, this is actually fairly common when somebody may have an excess of toxins built up in their body, and they are released with massage. It made perfect sense to me looking back on last weekend, I still felt a bit "weird" 24 hours later, not like the flu, but just weird. Bottom line, WATER ... WATER ... and more WATER before and certainly after having a massage. I'll admit that I lacked doing so (and I know better) and I dearly paid the price. Needless to say this weekend I felt much better, although we did leave my chest area alone. We'll go back to it next week, as I am still trying to work on my range of motion which tends to cause so much discomfort through my chest. Lastly, I recommend checking with your insurance to see if you have coverage, these visits are being covered.

So I DVR'd the Oprah show on hormones ... I don't get it ... are they now saying that these bioidentical hormones may be okay and also can be used for women that have had bc ??? Being that 1 and 8 women get BC, and out of those many are ER/PR+ , I guess I would have thought that with the prevalent cases of bc more would have been discussed in that regards.

Speaking of hormones, my onc is having my levels re-checked this week. It's been since last July that they've been checked. All I know is that with the aches and pains in my arms and feet, I darn well better not be having any extra estrogen floating around in my body.  I have my appt with him next week along with my Zometa infusion (can't wait for that one)!

Kimberly, leave it to you for the descriptive narrative of your artwork, you know a person can literally envision the pieces. So I have not looked at your weather, did we bask in sunshine on our road trip?

My visit with my walking buddy was great ... my photo album put tears in her eyes looking back on the weekend. We plan on getting together again in a couple of months, training walks will get hot and heavy again come about March (6 months out from the actual event).

Tina, holy smokes gal .... the moving trucks are coming soon ! Hoping that everything moves along smoothly for you .... Spring in Colorado sounds perfect !!! I bet "Joey" will be happy to get out of the sniffling cold as well.

Joan, well again I need to stop complaining about weather in the 30's. That would be a heat wave for you all.

I've been on-line looking at airfares as well, those cheap tickets I've heard mentioned on the news must be to go to some friggin' cold place that nobody wants to go !!! We are planning a trip to Az in March as well, and looked at fares ... no bargains there either.

D1, another Jewel with the gift of writing. Thanks for sharing your experience, I had to finally give up the space on the DVR yesterday (to make room for 3 college hoop games) of the big day. LOL at slithering through the bushes !!!!

As much as you will miss watching your dd play ball (atleast at the hs level), I can't imagine missing some of the drama of the coaches antics. Give me a break !

Patty, nothing worse than a crummy dream ... then again nothing better than waking up and knowing atleast it was just a dream. I had a funky one as well this past week which I was happy to shake out of my head upon waking in the morning.

I didn't see the GMA bit on MRI and mis-diagnosis. We're they referring to false positives ??? I'm more concerned about the positives that show up negative until well after the fact.

Jules, sounds like you rather enjoyed your day of "futzing" at your own speed yesterday.

I've thought as well about chatting with my dh to see if he would like to venture to Vegas for a night or two tacked on to the end of our gathering. He has only been there once and that was in 07 when we got married. BTW, we stayed at the Monte Carlo (they had a nice venue for the ceremony), but unfortunately there was a MASSIVE construction project going on next door (I think it was the Vegas City Center project), so sitting around the pool, you heard a fair amount of noise. I'll have to look on-line and see if that has been completed, as a hotel next to this project would probably not be too good.

Sherry, I think its your time for a big break from having some health issues for you. Hang in there gal.

Wendy, holy cow woman ... a 2am bedtime ... sorry, I'd make a poor room mate in Vegas ... that's well beyond my turning into a pumpkin time !!!

Kris, so another puter coughing up its last pixel ("sorry Paula but I loved that line").

Leave it to you to encourage a good TP'ing ... sounds like fun was had by all.

Paula, so are you able to leave the house on Sunday mornings to attend church? Hoping that you can head to work in the morning without feeling too down in the dumps. Working with the kids (as obviously you have so many that truly admire you, yes I do enjoy your FB page) has got to be a bit of a pick me up.

Norma, I'm with you on the Grey's and the Izzy story line (to bizarre for me), so what's funny is that I have to remember what the heck season I'm watching !!!

Too cool on the ds receiving such high marks on his project. Looks like it will be my son's turn in the barrel next year. I can only hope that he "starts to get it" by that time !!!

Deb, its always too neat to know that our fellow sister friends always know that they can pop in anytime. Thank god we're not all as winded as others (like this epic post).

I added your name to the Vegas list. I certainly like the looks of the Mirage from the Expedia pics on-line.

Carla, always like to hear you sounding stronger happier with each post. You are in control of that happiness and I have this hunch you are headed in the right direction.

Whew, okay I got back up to my own post on Thursday ... time to stoke the fire and encourage the dh with his project !!!

Okay, now to the posts.  I just returned from the Costco run with dh and on the way home we stopped at Best Buy and I got a webcam!  I may have mentioned that I'm going to read for Dr. Seuss' B-day for my librarian sister and I needed a webcam to do it.  It kinda feels like an invasion of privacy, but what's privacy anymore????

Want to comment on Julie's before and after photos:  Girl, you did a fabo job!!!  You completely transformed your space.  I think you should be featured on one of those decorating shows!  We did finally have a couple of contractors come by to look at our bathroom.  The first estimate came in at $6K!  It looks like we have to completely retile just to repair the shower floor because of the way it was tiled in the first place.  The second contractor even wants to demolish the base under the shower stall and start over-that sounds like even more money!  I'll see how much he'll charge, but I'm tempted to go with the first guy-we both liked him and, hey, he's originally from Michigan, too!

Oh, and the basement looks like a big job.  I really want to know what you're going to do with that kid in the background...

I'm so glad that some of you guys got to see the inauguration.  I didn't find the speech particularly moving, but the event sure was!

Carla, great news on the pow-wow with your dh (noticed you even used lower case!).  Hopefully, by opening lines of communication you can begin to reconcile your feelings.

Patty, I think we need to send some feelers out to some of the resorts in Vegas.  I should probably read through the thread, because you are probably all on that by now, but that's where I'd start.  I know you have a connection at Planet Hollywood, so that makes sense to start there.  I also want to look at a place with one of those lazy river thingys for the poolside group among us (it sounds like we may outnumber the gamblers!).  I think Mirage and MGM (but that's at one end of the strip and I'd rather be in the middle, if we can) have one.  Do you know of others that we should look at?

Just read SISKimberly's homework assignment-I like it!

Oh Paula.  I'm so sorry to hear you're blue.  Of course, with everything you're doing, I would think it would be a natural se.  It must be so hard to juggle dh, tx, kids, work, home, your own feelings...  ((((((HUGS)))))  I did think of you when Kennedy had the seizure during the luncheon after the swearing-in.  I told all the folks who were with me at the time what I'd learned from you about this type of cancer.  Just seeing how upset everyone was over Kennedy's seizure gave me a little better insight into what happens at your house when there's a seizure.  I sure hope this new tx does the trick...

    Yay!!  Deb's coming to Vegas!!!

Look at the list that's coming!  I never dreamed so many of us would be able to do a Jewel Junkett (I know, there I go again with my corny alliteration).  I am so looking forward to this!

I'm with you, Norma, the Izzy story line is crazy (really).  It kinda sounds like it might be wrapping up soon-at least we can hope so.

Interesting observation about your blues, Paula.  It certainly sounds plausible to me.

Finally, Kris, the draining slows!  Hooray!  LOL at the tp-ing!

Not fair, Wendy, practicing up for Vegas!  There is NO WAY I'll see 2am!!!

Sounds like your dh is being smart, Julie.  I'm sorry he has to go to so much trouble to do his job, but sometimes our leaders put us in that position.  Rant any ol' time.

What, Patty???  You're not dreaming about me????  It would most def keep you up at night if you were!  Oooh.  Just read your dream-totally makes sense to have that one on your chemo anniversary.  That IS a nightmare!

Hooray Tina!!!  Your house moved really quickly!  You guys must be excited about that.  Hopefully the inspection won't turn up any surprises and you'll be on your way!

Loved your post, SISKim.  The picture sounds amazing.  My college girl is into photography, and we have many of her b/w prints framed around the house.  Photography truly is an art form.

Deb, I think the trip to Vegas is just what the doc should order for you (in fact, can you get a script for that and get your health insurance to cover it??).  I liked what SISKim had to say about Mandalay Bay-I'm going to take a gander at that when I'm done with my post.  BTW, LOVE the new signature!

Wow, Carol!  That was a long one for you.  Glad to hear you're getting something crossed off the honey-do list.  I always like that (like today getting my webcam!).

Okay, gang, here's a question.  Do we need to find another avenue for planning our Vegas trip than on the Boards?  Should we all get on facebook, maybe?  (Oh, I have to go there today, too.)  Just throwing it out there.

Hi Ladies.  It's been a while.  I haven't even had time to lurk.  Not doing anything but the usual mundane things of life though, and work.  I even had to work MLK Day last week.  I do have yet ANOTHER cold-sore throat this time for the past week.  It's always something.  Saw the PS for follow-up and all looks good.  I don't see her again for 6 months.  Dh and I started our study at my Cancer Center.  It's a couple's group study looking at the effects of BC on the woman and her husband/partner.  We'll meet once a week for 8 weeks to talk about various topics.  I think it's going to be fun.  At least, I feel like I'm giving something back and hopefully helping someone else down the road.  DD had a birthday party to attend yesterday.  DS has one more week to go on his potty chart, and then he'll get his big boy bike.  I am so proud of him, and thrilled to be done with daytime diapers.  This coming week I have my appointment with the eye specialist, and next weekend my dad's coming to visit and watch the kids while dh and I go to group.  I also started to look at plans for our 10 year anniversary (2010) and a trip with the kids for Disney.  So what's up with the Jewels?  I'm 10 days behind, so I'm sure I have lots to catch up on.  I hope to read about Las Vegas plans.  I really want to go and am planning for it, but dh is definitely coming as it will be our anniversary July 8, and that will be our treat to ourselves.  Don't worry, I'll still get Jewel time-he'll go golf or gamble (he did well the last time he was there, I've never been)!

Cathy-CA:  For things to do in Vegas... I'm happy to do dinner Monday night, maybe a lunch too.  I'd really like to see Cirque du Soleil.  Otherwise, I'm happy to sit by the pool, maybe go shopping.

BTW my port scar looks GREAT now ( 2 weeks afterwards)!  I hope your de-porting next month goes well.  It really was easy.

CHJ:  Glad to hear your new onc news-she sounds wonderful!  I was so disappointed last week when the Ravens lost.  Honestly, I couldn't care less about the SB now, and I can't decide who to root for.

Carol:  Yay!  Let's sit by the pool in Vegas and talk, talk, talk!  I can't wait to meet everyone.

OK, after reading your posts about the effects of massage, I'm not too eager to get another.  I have enough GI issues.

Tina:  No, the eyes are not a chemo SE.  Though no one can quite say yet what caused it.  I personally think it was from my really bad GI illness at Christmas time, or the lovely issues post-op port removal (cinder blocks, as I was dumb and forgot to take Miralax... I know TMI).  We'll see what this new specialist says this week.  I am seeing fine, so it's merely annoying having to go to more doctors!  Both my parents have eye issues though, so I'm being good and following through.

Julie:  Another Facebook girl (and D1, and Kim, and Carol, and others I'm sure).  I'm holding back from signing up.  I can't keep up with my e-mail and reading posts here, though lots of my friends send me the "invites" to sign up.

Wow!  Loved your before and after pics of your room.  The color looks amazing.  I suddenly feel the need to paint and redecorate J

Paula:  Hope Ed is doing well.  I'll keep reading along to see.  I think the grief counseling would be good for you all from the sounds of it.  I'm sure hospice will be able to point you in the right direction.

Kimberly:  Hope you're feeling better by now.  I swear I get over one illness, have a few days break, and then I'm on to another.  I've never been like this, so it must be from chemo hitting my immune system.  I feel like a little kid!

Hope your sis is hanging in there with her journey through BC treatment.

Liked your post format, so I followed suit with the bold names.

Liked your words about Obama, too.  I am hopeful that things will improve, but know it will take time as you pointed out.

OK, Miss Teacher... Homework for the Jewels?!?  I'm gonna have dh do it for me-ha!  He's actually good at that stuff and volunteered even before I got to your post.  Checked out Mandalay Bay before, too.  I really like what I saw.

Sherry:  Glad you like your new job.  DE is still freezing, and what sucks is we have no snow here.  I figure if it's cold we should at least have some snow!  Hope you stay warm.

D1:  I like your Vegas ideas.  I think it would be good to compare prices at a few places, and someone mentioned a package-that would be great.  Planet Hollywood does look nice though.  Just saw that the Miss America pageant last night was held there.  No, I didn't watch it... dh was flipping through the channels and I made him stop when I saw Vegas stuff!  I hope it won't be an issue if he's along in July as I see most are coming sans dh's.  I just don't want to travel without him (we rarely get to go anywhere these days); we've been so few places together and it's so close to our anniversary.  Hope you gals understand.  He wants to golf at least once anyway, so that's a few hours I'll have to myself at least once (probably more if I know him).

Hope you didn't freeze your patootie off in DC last week.  I had no time at work to watch any of the events.  But 2 of my friends went, and of course our newspapers were berserk with Biden news and photos.

Carla:  Good to hear things are better at home.  I agree with Kim's idea about hitting him up to go to counseling now.

Deb:  I've also heard about the Mirage.  Hope you feel better soon.

NormaVery interested in the info you read about BCP and BC.  I asked numerous docs about it and all said no, that didn't cause it.  But that was the only thing I've had consistent in my body for >10 years prior to BC dx. Hmmm....

Kris:  Glad to hear the drainage is letting up!  I hope they take your drains out soon then.  LOL at the tp'ing with the girls.  Sounds like it was fun payback J

Wing (and Julie):  I'm a Vegas virgin, too!  My dh is more than happy to take care of that for me though...

OK, I'm done!  Sorry this was so long, but I like to shout out after I've been gone for a while.  Kim... I'll try to find time to do some homework this week.  TTFN, Jewels!

Kimberly, wow . I'm all over that one ... we're talking you can even get sand between your toes !!!

Kathy, boy what a better way to keep the communication going than with your group study.  Hopefully you'll be able to pass on some snippets from your meetings.

Figure between working closely with the public and young kids in school/daycare your ol' immune system would be working double time to keep up, here's hoping the latest crud doesn't hang on long.
