Adrenal Fatigue

Hi everyone.  I just found out my sister, who does not have BC, was dx with Adrenal Fatigue or hypoadrenia.  It is caused by STRESS.  Here is a link to it:

I often worried about her as she had been involved with 2 high school hostage situations where death occurred.   When she visited me last July, she seemed very jumpy.

I do not mean to add to anyone's worries, but I found many of the "symptoms" to be similar to those experienced by those friends who have diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

Nancy I also was diagnosed with Adrenal Fatigue and so has one of my friends. We were not symptomatic, that is none of us felt tired so I am kind of questioning the test.( it was  a saliva test that we did a couple of times during 1 day measuring the cortisol levels)he

The adaptagen's that I was prescribed by the naturopath did not fly by my oncologist, has phytoestrogens in it sigh !

My sis has been gluten intolerant and she thought maybe she needed some tweek for her meds.   She has been under a tremendous amount of pressure with her job - her helper is on maternity leave, so no substitute and it all falls on her shoulders.   She is a high school counselor and has a specific time table to get tests done, results sent in , and all kinds of reports and forms to fill out.   It is not the only job that had deadlines, but without the usual help, it is hectic for her.

I read that the saliva test is the best way to diagnose it.  Have you changed your diet at all?  She was told she will need a very strict diet and it will take a year or more for her to get back to feeling better.   I think she has appt w/nutritionist this  upcoming week.

Meds for gluten intolerance? If she's not on a gluten free diet then she's probably going to feel crappy (excuse the pun) because of poor absorption of her nutrients. Has she had her vit D checked? That's almost always low in celiac dz even if they're on a strict gluten free diet. (Hell, it's almost always low in anyone!)

Not saying it might not be adrenal fatigue - anyway, that's all about being as healthy as you can so I'd check out those other things too.

Jorf, what I meant by a tweek in her meds. was calcium and whatever she takes for osteoporosis.   She had been on a gluten free diet, for several years.  She had done urine collection tests, saliva tests, blood tests up and down and back and forth and she sees an endocrinologist as well.
