I had my ovaries removed 6 months ago and I am currently taking Aromosin. My vagina has shrunk to the size of a 6 year old, I have no sex drive, sex hurts (even with ky). Im taking effexor which probably doesnt help. Im only 46! sex used to be fantastic but now I'd rather sleep! Okay the rant is over and I feel better!  Good niteTongue out

    Hi Stacey,

        Short answer is No.

But, it does get better with a little time.

Can you try Tamoxifen instead?  I did even after my ovaries and uterus were removed.

Check out the Mojo thread.  Surprised  Laughing

I was not on an AI but I have to admit before my mets dx my sex life was at an all time high.  Everyone said when you hit menopause things dry up so I was dreading my hysterectomy from that standpoint.  I tell you things picked up the pace after that and I didn't have my monthly cycle hitting to get in the way of big planned evenings.  It was really strange to me.  I don know that since I have had mets and am on AI's I don't have the desire I used to, but I have to honestly wonder if part of this isn't mental on our part.  Not saying we are making excuses but that our bodies are so exhausted from everything we just don't have the energy for something we can live without.  I think in time you can work on things, sex is one of those use it or lose it things.  I never thought I would say that but if you don't use the vagina and it has a chance to dry and shrivel you have to work it back into shape, iodine mentioned the MOJO thread and that is probably a great place to start for idea on getting back some of it.
