How much of a lump was your lumpectomy?

My first 'lump' was 10 x 4 x 3 cm.  But I was one of the unlucky 20% who didn't get clean margins.  So, back I went into surgery.  The second 'lump' was 7.5 x 4.5 x 2 cm.  That adds up to bigger than my fist!  I was a C-cup size to start with!

I'm still swollen and right now I match.  My first surgery was on 12/8/2008 and the second one was on 1/2/2009.  How long before the swelling goes down and I discover what's left?

Don't misunderstand, I am very greatful my bs took all he did. There was no lump, really, after the biopsy, which sucked out the original .9mm of encircled microcalcifications.  Just a lot of various DCIS that was invading 1-2mm into tissue.

Wow.  I am a small B cup and my excision was golf ball sized.  I can't tell a noticeable difference in my breasts.  Sometimes fluid fills up the hole and balances it out.  I think within 2 months you should be able to tell the difference.

However, after rads my breast became firmer and sits higher than my other breast so now they look different.

    Good luck.

I looked at my path report. It lists a very large lumpectomy, skin ellipse measures 13x6cm, and breast extends beyond ellipse 16x10cm. Thickness 5.5 cm. Clear margins were worth it.

It took awhile but the lumpectomy area has filled in pretty well. Two years out from surgery and you can't tell any difference by looking at me dressed. Even undressed, not much difference now.
