My precious little Buddy had to be put to sleep on Tuesday night. dh and I are absolutely devastated... it was so sudden. He had a tumor - Hemangiomasarcoma on his little lung. It burst and his chest filled with blood... literally one minute he was our happy, healthy little baby, and the next he was having respiratory distress. After several tests and being told his prognosis was grim, we put him out of his pain... the hardest thing we have ever done. Honestly girls... I have dealt w/bc dx better than I have dealt with this. The above photo was one of my favorites... I just wish this was all a bad dream I still can't believe he's gone...I just keep thinking that he will be back home with us - where he truly belongs.
Kel - thanks for the phone call today... I really appreciated it.

Oh Laura,
I am so sorry for your loss. I will say a prayer that your pain is alittle less each day.
Please try to focus on how many smiles he gave you. His pictures are so cute. Hugs
-

Oh Laura sweetie,
I am so very very sorry to hear about Buddy Love. It hurts so bad, I know. He will be in my prayers tonight and I know this sounds silly, but I talk to my dog about all of the dogs that I know that are in doggy heaven or Rainbow Bridge and I will tell him tonight about Buddy.
Kim,
Beautiful family. Thanks for sharing.

(((((Laura))))) I am so, so sorry about Buddy! I had a very similar situation with my beautiful baby, Laci, last May. She had cardiomyopathy and I had no idea until she threw a clot and became paralyzed. It hurt and scared her so much and there was no hope, so I had to let her go to sleep. I'm crying again just remembering.....she was my chemo cat, licking my bald head to comfort me when I felt bad. So I know just how you feel. It's just not fair! I really am so very sorry and just have no words to make you feel better....

Laura, i am so sorry to hear about your sweetest little Buddy. I have always loved seeing his pictures. As hard as it was to do, you did the right thing for him. He has gone to the Rainbow Bridge and is free of pain. I love my animals so much and i understand how difficult this is for you.
(((((((Laura)))))))

Laura, big hugs to you.
I am so sorry. It's always so heartwrenching to lose a furbaby. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I have my Chloe for a good while yet.
KimF, your photos are just lovely. Thanks for sharing them.

I am so sorry about Buddy! I love you Laura Lou --- Teryn says hi to you and Shel and that she is sorry about Buddy.
-
Kim, you are looking great!!
It's 2009 --- it will be 4 years for me and my Rocktober sisters this year ==== hard to imagine back then when we were all bald and afraid. Now, we have hair and are PISSED that they are still more girls and silently afraid of mets ... we have come a long way with bruises and tears and lost loved ones but pray the new research and vaccines will keep all of us around!
-
Hi Kel! Love you 2...give T a hug from us. Yes, we have come a long way, but the fear will never escape us. I think we've done a great job at moving beyond and educating ourselves and doing all we can to survive. I hope this new year brings you and T an abundance of love, good health, prosperity and happiness. And... hey who knows... maybe it will even bring you here to Chi town... for a fun weekend!
GIRLS - Thank you so much... my heart is still broken, but each day, honestly, I feel a little better. I only had 2 melt downs today... my eyes are less swollen... but I still think that he will magically reappear (my brain has not connected with my heart yet)...no such chance, but this is the way the human brain works. I miss my little guy...I would give anything to have him home with us. But we will be okay... we've dealt with alot. Love you all!
THANKS AGAIN - so much... your words are healing us.
-
KIM - I'm sorry....I wanted to acknowledge your photos...my brain is MOOSH!
You look FAB... your dh is a doll and your kids are adorable... I am so happy you are doing well. Keep up the good work!
-
Felicia - Love your arms! Man do I work hard to try to get mine to look like that!!
-
Laura , hugs to you and you dh. I'm so sorry for your loss of Buddy Love. He was such a cutie , I enjoyed looking at the pics you shared of him. Yes , time will ease the pain , but he will always be in your hearts. Take care , Melody

(((((Laura))))) I'm such a schmuck. I hadn't read through all the posts before putting up my pics etc. I just went back through and am so sorry I hadn't acknowledged the loss of your adorable buddy. I have experienced the loss of three pets in my lifetime and it is enough for me to know that I don't want to ever experience it again. It is so difficult. Hoping you are coping okay and sorry I hadn't been paying close attention to the previous posts.
Thanks everyone on your compliments of my wonderful children. They are the best! I sometimes want to run away and hide for a day or two, but most of the time I can't love them enough!

Oh sweet Laura... I am so sorry about little Buddy.

These are my parents, my sweet Jade and myself, this Christmas.
One of the best sunsets I have watched... Christmas day in Portugal:
My groom of five months ("Mr. Tinkerbell") and myself in Praia do Guincho, Portugal, Christmas day (Jade is in the background).

Wow, great pics Lilia. You all look very happy.
-
honey girl - Thanks for your post... and... OMgoodness...your screen name is amazing... I always called Buddy honey guy! No kidding...
Thanks to you too Lilia...and nice pics!
Kim - No problem. I totally understand... been there done that! Thanks for your kind words.
It's still a roller coaster, and from what everyone says - it will be for a little while longer.
Just had to post this one. Our house was being built, we had sold the house we owned, so we had to rent a house to live in. The rental house had a great little patio. Buddy always wanted to be on the table when we sat outside (he was only allowed up there if we were outside too). So...the pampered little guy that he was... we put his bed on the table. He fell asleep! OMG - how funny... he slept like that for at least an hour and continued to do so almost everytime he slept in his bed whether on the table or on the floor:

Laura , you are welcome. That is so cute "honeyguy". I took my screen name from my sweet cat "Edwina". I always called her honeygirl. I had to put her down 7/7/07. She was 16 and had renal failure. I know it hurts so much , and is so heartbreaking. But I wouldn't have missed a minute of our time together. Take care , Melody

Honeygirl and KAK - Thanks... I still miss him so much. But my melt downs are more and more in frequent... time heals all - so they say.

Have a photo from earlier this evening from a party I went to:
-
Laura, thank you for your comment. I am somewhat technologically challenged and could not for the life of me work out how to write a comment above the photo (even that had to be done for me). The garden is, alas, not mine but belonged to the family of Shakespeare's wife Ann Hathaway. We took our friend for a visit and she snapped us up otherwise we are rarely on the photo together. This was taken only days before I discovered I had BC. Oh sweet ignorance.
So sorry for your loss. Buddy looks too adorable for words.
Kathi you look lovely. Hope you had a good time at the party.
-
AT .. I thought that's where that was!! I loved that house and garden ....
Lovely new pics everyone!
