Crystal, how are you doing? Hugs.

Felicia, I would give anything to have gone to the inauguration. My sister in San Francisco is there now. She will be attending one of the balls. Unfortunately, I am still in radiation therapy and must go each and everyday so I could not go. It would have been worth it, even flying from here in Paris, ............to have heard those wonderful words spoken by the new President.
Yes, this is indeed a new day!!!!!!!
-
Felicia, I almost feel like Cinderella missing the Ball! I could not go to the Inauguaration festivities, not because I live in Paris, but because I must get my radiation each and everyday! Can't miss any of that!!!!!
But many people have gone there from here to help celebrate. Yes, this is a new day!!!!!
-
Hello Ladies:
Just checking in. The Inauguaration was lovely to watch, I wish I could have gone to see it but it was Way!!!!!!! too cold. Did you see them dancing?
Doing good so far. Had my Mammo and everything looks clear. I will go to see my Onc on Feb 3rd and hopefully will not have to see him again for 6 months.
Blessings!!!

Hello everyone!
I had gone back to work full time and was slowly getting myself reacquainted to working 12hrs a day, 3/week. We had also spent time traveling this past summer & fall through Central Europe. A trip location I would highly recommend for ones 'bucket list.'
I cannot complain, life has been pretty good. I hope and pray everyone is doing well?
-
Hello Deborahann,
Sorry we have to meet this way---but there has been a great support group here and I just love it!!!
My computer was on the blink for awhile, so there are new people I've not connected with and you are one----So Hello, Hello!!!
Your trip must have been wonderful---I like the idea of "bucket list". Things to look forward to in life!!! Keep on keeping on!!

Hello Ladies,
It is sharing time---Ok?
I last went to the Dr. in November and he put me on Chemo Break---I still have show of the CA on my chest skin--but so was it, on the meds--I just finished Navelbine in Oct. and Tykerb in Dec. So today I went in and we both agree--I feel good physically and he could not see the need for me to go on Chemo to have me feel only worse, so we are going to "watch it" for another 2 months, unless I see the need to call them. We will do CT scans again, as they were Neg in Oct. It is Breast Cancer of the Skin (across my chest--itches at times, but less in the past weeks)
OK---Looking for all our "Prayer Warriors "to keep me in prayer as you have, as I know how to "make myself crazy some days. It does not look so bad in the AM, but by nite can look pretty ugly, just depends on my day. I will keep us posted if any changes. I do some alternative supplements and this helps me stay sane--Jesus 1st--OK!!!! I have been on one chemo or two for the last 6 years--every week, sometimes every day in them years--but Thank God I am still here and Kicking pretty good for a (Be 62 next month). So I like the Break just to breathe a while.
Thanks Ladies for your prayers already, and may God Bless each of you who took the time to pray, or just to think of me.
Everyone Take Care.

Hello everyone, all is well here. It's been a long time since I last posted. I always think about the women I have connected to on this post who were there for me when I was going through. I hope everyone is doing well. Since my last post life has been good. No recurrence "thank God" I am active in the fight of BC. I love sharing my story with other women in the community and I am involved with Relay for life and Making Strides. I meet a lot of women last year at the Breast Cancer conference in Atlanta Georgia. We formed a website for African American Women called Serenity Circle (check it out on Facebook). I held my first Pink Pot Luck last year. And next week I will be one of the keynote speakers at our 4th Annual Purple Tea with friends for AA women to let them know about the importance of breast and cervical cancer early diagnosis. So all is well here. Rogam you look marvelous. Hope to here from you all soon. check me out on FB Sabrina Parker/
-
Sparker38 thanks for the update. I am going to check out the Serenity Circle. Good job spreading the word. Bless you.
-
Hello Felicia, and to all who are on the list!!
Hope all is well in your worlds!! While I have not been on I think about and have missed my chats with you all. It has been awhile, but I hope to be "back in stride" again
.
Til later.

Hi Felicia! I know it has beena while! I am still here and kicking! Recently diagnosed Stage IV. Doing chemo again but I am blessed!!
-
Felicia I pray that you are doing well. Glad that you are still with us. Was something missed during your check-up's?
-
Hello Everyone! It's been a long time! Well, I've moved back to TX from NC and just had my consult for my reconstruction. I've decided to go with the DIEP proceedure! I'm so ready and glad I waited. It's really nice to see you all doing so well. God is Good!!!! I will make a habit of signing in more often.....:-)
-
Hello Sharon! I have having DIEP May 25 at NOLA. I can't wait. When is your procedure?
-
Hello Ladies,
Looking at some of the names: Sparker38, Trumpet84, Sharon68, Rogam, sounds like some of the former group of when I first came on. Good to look on here and see and hear from you all Now------Felicia where are you?? Hope all is well in your world.
Stay Blessed.

Hello All!!
Rogam- I actually got a call from my surgeon yesterday wanting to do my surgery 9 May! I didn't think the date would be so early!!! I'm ready but I guess not that ready you know.....I'm a little freaked out now for some reason. I'm going to call and let them know that I need a couple weeks to prepare first. How are you doing???? Nervous at all? I've heard a lot of good things about NOLA. What are you doing to prepare for surgery and post-op? My husband will be my nurse until I get back to my normal self. I'm looking into renting a walker and whatever else I think I'm going to need. Now....if the receptionist from the hospital will just call me back so that I can give them a new date for surgery
!
Take care and stay Blessed my sistas!!
-
Hello Linda and Sharon! Sharon wow that was quick..I am actually ready to get it over with! I wish I could go sooner. For some reason I am not overly nervous. I have been reading over on the NOLA recon board and I feel better about what I can expect afterwards. I was very surprised to hear so many of those ladies talk about how they were hitting up the French Qtrs 4-5 days after deip. It is my understanding that walking is the best thing for you. I see myself healing very well(God said it).
I will be in the hospital for 4 days or so. They like for you to stay in NOLA just incase however my mom lives in Gulfport, MS (45 mins away). The dr says that I close enough, so I am going there until I have to return to nola for post op appt. I am going to take it easy got my fmla stuff back today 6.5 weeks out here i come! One of the ladies suggested a backmax wedge pillow support as you can't sleep on your side during the healing process. Keep me posted. You take care also...feeling like this body is going to be better than before.
-
Rogam= I know what you mean. I am so ready to get this done and over with and getting on with life. I think I'm just uneasy about the surgeon and this hospital. I've been calling and no one returns my calls. I'm going to call my insurance company and have them send me to a different place for a second opinion. I wish I knew some sistas here in san antonio that have had the procedure done so that I could get references. Anyway, I'll be praying for a speedy recovery and fab tatas!!! Take care everyone!!
-
Sharon..It took me awhile to go back for surgery. I had immediate recon that failed...I asked the dr for a tram and he suggested implants...he was nice and well known but in the end he agreed that a tram may have been the best thing. We have been through enough and don't have time for any unnecessary stuff. If you feel uneasy listen to your gut. Go on the DIEP board under reconstruction and post referral in TX. Have you checked into NOLA?
-
Hello ladies! Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. I'm sending well wishes and prayers to all.
Rogam- I pray that all goes well with you and your surgery today!! Be Blessed my Sista!!
-
Hey Sharon all was well. i am one month out from surgery on Wednesday. They offered the best care! Going for stage 2 in a few months. Take care...
