Anyone on just Taxotere and Cytoxan?

Kt57 I have lymphnode involvement. I would have had 4 otherwise. It's funny you mentioned that. I hadn't noticed that several ladies also have positive lymphnodes but are doing 4 cycles.
Welcome Kisblessed!! I eat bananas the day of chemo. No rhyme or reason, I just like them and I'm usually so nervous I forget to eat in the morning and eat it during chemo. Try to get in a short walk everyday. It really helps. My philosophy is "Water, walk and women." You'll find the women right here. I hope you find the same comfort in them that I have.

I found out yesterday that AC is tougher on the cardivascular system than the TC and since I was having some Cardio issues, my onc chose the TC. Will have to investigate that one. The reason I am getting 4 rounds TC instead of 6 is the oncotype score - that's what he told me. My score was 24. Anyway, feeling a little better today(day 4 after 3rd TC) but yesterday was a B*****. Between driving to Phila for the cardio appt in the snow and then the SE's setting in - it was a long night. Watching the inauguration and trying to stay focussed on some work. Take care all,
Bobbi

Today is day 14 after #2 tx of TC and I was feeling pretty good until last evening when abdominal cramps started after dinner. I was sick with diarrhea all evening and all night and it still hasn't gone away. Guess I will have to call the doctor if it continues much longer. This is the first diarrhea for me since the beginning of chemo, and I hope it's the last. No sleep, no food and no fun.
Hope the rest of you are feeling better than me today. -Bonnie

Apfuentes, just catching up on all of the posts. I go for tx#3 on Thursday and I'm like you, I have all of the hair on my arms and my stubble on my head actually GREW! It did! yeah! Now that I'm writing this it will probably all fall out tomorrow! My nails are still growing and I'm still getting my periods on my regular cycle. Weird. No hair on my legs.
Hang in there, I actually don't think it's all that bad after you get past the first week after chemo, and the hair falling out, and the constipation, and the mood swings, and the metal mouth...!!! Life is Good!

Hiyas ~ Way past chemo but had diarrhea, chills and nausea today. Took Ativan and fell asleep on the couch - right before the inauguration!!! I wanted to see that. But I feel better now. Just a bug or something I ate.
-
Cinda,
I'm on day 8 of cycle 2 and my hair is growing on my head too. I also still have hair on my arms, etc.
I had a period after cycle 1, but today started having hot flashes. My poor body doesn't know what is going on!!!

Hello ladies,
I am on day 16 of my first tx. So far, I have had little if any SE's. Until this morning. Now I am nauseous and just generally don't feel good. I have been told by several doctors that this week is supposed to be when you feel your best.
Has anyone else had this happen the week before you go back for treatment? I don't know if this is from the chemo or maybe I just picked up a bug.
So much for bragging about how well I was doing.
Thanks for any help.
-
auriga, I bet you have a bug, I'm a school nurse and my kids were dropping like flies yesterday, nothing but vomiting and diarrhea this week. Hang in there. Drink lots of fluids, but if you get worse contact your onc. just to be safe.
Feel better

auriga, most of us are feeling pretty much back to normal by day 8-10 and feeling really good by the third week. You most likely picked up a bug. I know there are a couple other threads here where people are nauseous and having diarrhea this week. You are either in your nadir or just coming out of it and very susceptible to any bugs out there. Take care of yourself and get better. And of course, if any of the SEs get out of control, call your onc.
-
Thank you both for your replies. Maybe it is just a bug. I'm in Florida, and we had freezing temps last night, and it's only in the 30's now, so maybe I have just the normal flu.
Perhaps this is a lesson to keep my mouth shut about how great I'm feeling.
-
Well it's day 6 of TX#3 and I'm getting my energy back. This treatment did knock more out of me and I'm so SICK of this nasty taste in my mouth. I was due for my period yesterday and normally I'm right on schedule, but I've been having hot flashes and night sweats for about three weeks now! So not sure if my period will come or not!
-
LisaLisa and Lisasayers,
I too am having hot flashes but have yet to miss a period. I thought this treatment was going to throw me into menopause??? I was looking forward to that and not shaving my legs. So far I have been having to deal with both. Ha!

I had my last treatment November 13th and have no signs of hair regrowth! When is it going to start?
-
Hi Kim,
Hang in there, My last treatment was Oct. 31 and I didn't see a sign of new hair until almost Christmas. But then it took off and has come in thick - now at about 1/4 in back to 1/2 in front. It's dark with silver tips and people ask me where I got my hair highlights done!
Good luck,
Gail

swest! Look at that baby... is that your baby... cute picture.
I am on my way in for the Neulasta... I'm doing okay.. first tx yesterday.. but weird tingling sensation in my nasal passages, between my eyes... anybody get that?
-
holtbolt-the picture is of my newest neice. She is getting excited over food. The picture just makes me smile.
I have had the nasal sensation. In fact I noticed it on my 3rd tx the other day. It went away as soon as the IV drip was finished. Are you still having the sensation?
Good luck with the neulasta.
I have a gray tabby cat that in his younger days was a cousin to your cat. He got up to ~19 lbs. He is now 17 years old and has lost weight. Still has his extra skin.
-
Ask them to slow the drip right down then you won't get the nasal and sinus iritation. It worked for me.
-
Mumayan, Swest...I noticed the nasal sinus thing today - the day after the first tx. If you've ever taken Imitrex for migraines.. it's that same feeling you get. Weird.
Swest, your niece is adorable.... how did you get kitty to lose weight... I cannot seem to do it... she's been on a diet for 8 months.... still a happy pig... but she's only 7 so I need to slim her down so she can live long.. her legs are bowing out and she limps... it can't feel good.
-
holtbolt, I'm not sure what to say about the nasal problem. I would tell the onc nurse next time you are there. I belive it happened to me since they were running behind at my last tx. I think they were trying to rush my drip.
My cat lost weight on his own. It was old age. You might get with your vet on suggestions. You may want to seperate your cats during feeding. That way you can monitor the amound she eats. I assume you have other cats? My cat is starting to move very slow and has trouble getting away from my dogs. They are friends but he is old and some times does not want to play with them.

Hey Everyone,
Just lurking around trying to find how some are doing on Taxotere. I'm doing Taxotere alone starting the 29th. Already did 4 tx's of AC, then had bilat. mast. I see that most of you have little or mild side effects from the Taxotere which I am happy to see. On some other threads some women are having horrible time with Taxotere. About the fingernails turning colors and falling off... my onc. told me to make sure my nails are polished with a dark color polish or you can buy a clear polish with a UV protectant and they will be fine, or wear gloves when outside.
Lashon-Hope you will heal well and fast from surgery today!

Lashon - My thoughts and prayers are with you. I had mine on 11/5 without recon. You can do it!
Last Monday 1/19 I had my 3 tx of TC and yesterday started having tingling in my toes and down my left arm. I call my onc. nurse today and she told me to keep an eye on this since the SE are accumulative and could become perminent. I am not having trouble walking but my arm and feet feel funny. Has anyone else had this? Does it get worse? I have 1 more treatment to go. Does it go away? Any advice would be appreciated.
