Rose and Donna, how are we gonna know each other??? if I wear a pink turtle neck, do you think that will work ??
-
That's good. I look a lot like my picture!
-
President Obama wants you to type president Obama again.
-
Rose, Nancy - I am off for a day of picture taking. See you tonight at 6:30 at the pub. I am counting on recognizing Rose, but here's a sort of recent picture of me (I'm on the left):
-
What a nice picture Donna. Is that Fumi standing next to you. Sounds like all of you there are having a wonderful time. Wish I could be there too.
Peg
-
Haha - no that isn't Fumi. That is my friend Catherine from Berkeley.
I am on the Metro and there is a crazy man ranting. Lol- everybody is annoyed! -

Hey D, did ya lose weight?
You look so much skinner and even younger than when you were here. When was that pic taken? Is that your new hairdo? I love it!
Hugs,
Z

As for the metro, well, welcome to DC. And stay warm out there. I went running this morning and it was brutal.
-
I hope you all had a wonderful time in DC. I was glued to the TV yesterday-positively giddy with happiness and hope.
Now the real work starts
-
Donna: You look so good. I'm glad you had so much fun. Wish I could have been there.
-
Hey Z - That picture was taken last August in Napa Valley (wine country!) California. I have been letting my hair grow out all year, with the occasional trim to keep the ends healthy.
I don't think I have lost much weight since I was in Japan, but I think I always look skinnier in summer clothes than in winter clothes.
Rose, Nancy and I had a lovely time at dinner tonight, and we took a few pictures. When I looked at the pictures after I got back to the hotel, I am amazed at how much heavier I look, but my clothes have been the same size for 3 years! Go figure!
Anyway, here's Rose, me, and Nancy (from left to right) tonight at a pub in Alexandria, VA:
-
Thanks, Donna. You look trim and slim next to me, with my "buddah belly". And Don't give me the old - you are tall, you carry it well !!! It was great to meet you and Rose. Have a safe trip back to Texas.
-
great pic of you lovely ladies, you all look trim and slim and...hot!
-
lol, laura... we may have looked "hot" but it was cold outside !!
-
Ahhhh...I am back home from my DC adventure. The plane ride home was as warm and friendly as the trip out there - everyone is still experiencing the 'inauguration buzz".
And speaking of warm, it's 77 degrees in Dallas! How delightful it is to not feel cold without being bundled up for a change!
When I finish editing my videos and pictures and set them to music, I'll post a link to the final results. For the moment, I am sooooo relaxed in front of the TV, watching shows I Tivo'ed while I was gone (with my big boy Simon on my lap, of course!)
-
Donna,
I'm so glad you had a great time in DC and could meet up with Rose and Nancy.
Thanks for the picture and I look forward to your link to some more from DC--I'm glad you've got the chance to kick back before going back to work.
-
wooohooo donna i am glad you are home and warm with Simon on your lap.
i can't wait to see the pics and i am so happy you were there, on the ground experiencing history in the making.
nancy - stay warm even though you're hot!
-
I had a bunch of freinds go from Idaho. 4 of them got stuck in the purple tunnel and missed everything. Others got stuck in the tunnel but managed to get in just before it started. I watched it in a nice resturaunt with 5 friends here in Boise.
-
My husband had a purple ticket that he gave away at the last minute so he could stay home and watch with us. The person he gave it to go stuck in the tunnel and saw nothing. So hubby dodged a bullet, but I feel bad for the other guy.
-
Glad you got home safely, Donna. I would recommend another trip when the weather is better - Cherry Blossom time is usually good - beginning of April.
-
Gr8 pic!
-
We had this fellow taking pictures of us, and I think he did a fine job!
I enjoyed "rounding-up" with both Donna and Nancy!
I will say Donna, that you are much blonder in person than in the picture. Now it's back to the grindstone for all of us. Where's that change and it better be good
-
Rose, that was Casey, the bar tender. Nice guy who used to play football, but got hurt. Not sure if it was pro ball. Wasn't Pat Troy a character??? Should have gotten a pix w/him.
-
casey the bartender? lol, definitely my sisters you are being on a first name basis with the bartender
Another great photo - PANORAMIC - to remember the Inauguration..

Nancy is the one whose the regular, or was a regular, at that pub! However blond Donna is the one who got the bartend out from behind the bar!
I'm a geek so I was looking around for something the right height to see if I could set my camera to self-timer and get a picture of us all.
-
lol rose...since i can not figure out the self-timer on my camera in all my geekiness i am going to get some blonde help from clairol...:)
-
I had been a regular and always sat at the bar - unless I had visitors to the area with me. One gets to know the other regulars and the bartenders that way. Thanks for the link Donna.
-
Laura--that inaugural photo is incredible!
You can pan and zoom and play where's waldo. Lots of celebrities, and my kid right up front! Anyone in ticketed seating can be spotted, also some on the mall. I'm kind of addicted to searching the gigapan.
Donna, I hope you post more about your experiences of the day, and I hope others do, also.
take care,
--Hattie
