Question about Neupogen

I just had my first round of Taxotere/Cytoxan on Jan.7.  At my ten day blood work up my white blood cell count was 1200.  Apparently, my bone marrow went on vaca.  Laughing   So my onco order 3 days of Neupogen to get everything running again.  I had my third shot today and am having some lower back pain that's not fun.  It's  not constant just all of a sudden like and it takes my breathe away.  I'm taking some Naproxan (500mg) but I can't really overdo it on that because on top of having breast cancer, having had Hodgkin's Lymphoma when I was 19, I also have a cardiomyopathy or heart failure.  Yea me.  So I was wondering if anyone had experienced this and what they did to help with the pain.  I have some Darvacet ( I also have migraines..I know..I'm at the docs a lot) but that doesn't seem to help.  Thanks for any advice.  Oh, they said at my next chemo they were going to give me Neulasta before they started and that should help.  Any experience with that???  Thanks

I just took advil for my lower back and hip pain from neuprogen.  Other than that, nothing else but wait for it to stop.  Maybe someone else can give you an idea what to expect from the neulasta.

Thanks Always Hope.  I'll keep taking that and just hang on.  My DH said it's a good sign.  The nurse said that once the white blood cells start producing it gets a little "backed up" which why I have the pain/pressure.

My nueprogen pain didn't last but about 3 or 4 days at the most.  Just in time for the next round of chemo.

I wanted to thank everyone for trying to help me out with the neuprogen issues.  I got my bloodwork back and my white counts are now 33,000.  Long way up from the 1200 that was on Friday.  Good thing to know that my bone marrow responds!!  Yea.  Hope everyone has a great day!!
