i was curious if i have no more boobs what test do i do instead of routine mamagram. I do understand thier is still a chance a slim chance but you can still get breast cancer how do i be proactive ...what test if any should i be doing after treatment .......

Blood work, CT scans, MRI's, and self checks are all I know.

I think they can do an ultrasound too.

Have you talked to your doctor(s) to see what they'd recommend?

My onc and bs just do physical exams as well (I am not a fan of scans).

I would become totally familiar with your chest now, so you can notice any changes.

Apple is spot on, know your chest, run your hands over it in the shower, soapy, every month, and check your neck, too.

Other than that, and an obvious "sore", you should be just fine.

LOL - I asked that too. And guess what ??? I had a mammogram AND ultrasound. My doctor laughed and said "how do you think they test men?". Yup ... they grab what is left there and squish !!!

If there are any "concerns" I am also told that scans and such can be done ... but be prepared - my doc gave me the mammo and ultrasound check-up - LOL

My mastectomy is right down to my chest plate, there is nothing to grab! As my cancer was right against my chest wall too (6 o'clock) I can see why it was missed on mammo. I'm pretty sure I'd see any lump now!!

I agree with Apple, I'm learning my new chest very well.
