    Anyone read about the study on the possible lack of efficacy of Taxol on HER- ER+ breast cancer?

    Any updates?

    My path showed multi-focal, grade 3, ER+ PR- HER- from my bilat mastectomies. But onco recommends dose dense ACT (funny thing is she is in the same practice as the onco who editorialized the above study for New England Journal of Med).

     Survival is my main objective. but these drugs are SO toxic, i am trying to make sure i make the best choices for my long term health and well being.

    Not sure how that study panned out so I can only talk from my own experiences. My tumor was ER+ HER2- and I did 12 weekly Taxol prior to surgery. The tumor was originally measured 3.5cm+ but when I was done with Taxol, it got shrunk to less than 1.5cm. I also did 4 EC (similar to AC) and it shrank my tumor to less than 0.8cm. Then again I did another 12 weekly Taxol after I had a lumpectomy and it was 3 years ago. So far, I haven't got cancer back and have been pretty fine.
