     Hi all,

I have completed 4 rounds of AC and 11 of 12 weekly Taxol treatments for a large >6cm TN tumor.  SN biopsy was positive but not sure of my complete node status b/c I have not had surgery yet.  The Taxol has been tolerable with some mild neuropathy and bone aches.  A couple of days ago I developed some soreness in my right ribs.  I am scheduled for a PET CT one week after my last treatment (2 1/2 weeks from today).  Has anyone else had this experience on Taxol?  Trying not to freak out and decide if I should contact my onc. or wait for my scheduled PET.

    Thanks!

I had 4 rounds of AC, then 4 rounds of Taxol - dose dense, every other week.  I have mild neuropathy in my feet still from the Taxol, which I finished in late July.  It has gone away in my hands, but there is an area about the size of a 50 c. piece in both feet that is still numb.  I had terrible soreness in my ribs in Dec.  The pain was worse than it was when I had the mastectomy.  I talked to the doctor and the PT about it, and we all felt it was the muscle acting up, possibly aggrevated by the tissue expander pressing on it and irritating it.  There's a muscle that goes under the shoulder blade and around to the chest wall, and that's the one it was.  The PT worked on massaging it and stretching it, and it has gotten better.  It's back to normal now, but it took about 6 weeks.

    Hi!

I had dd 4 rounds AC, then 4 rounds Taxol.  Somewhere along the way I developed soreness in my left rib.  I don't know which chemo caused it, but it has since gone away. My last chemo was Dec. 10th, so it's not that long ago.   I think these chemo drugs can cause little aches and pains everywhere. But to be on the safe side you should mention it to your onc.  Just don't worry to much about it!  Best of luck!

    Yup.

Bone pain is very common on the taxanes.  (Also on neulasta.)

My bones hurt all over too, but mostly in the legs.  I had my last dose on December 31st of this year and still have lots of tingling and numbness in my fingers and feet.  It started in my toes, but now it is down about half of my foot.

    Hope it goes away soon.

Walsib, hope everything turns out to just be a normal side effect.  Good luck with the Pet scan.
