Live radio show
Hi Girls...I may make a total ass of myself, but I was asked to join The Visiting Nurses Association in their "Ask the Doc" web radio event tomorrow, January 12. I have a couple of very good friends who work for VNA Hospice who have been with me since I was diagnosed in October 2007. They felt that I should share my story. I have had many successes over the last year. We hear so much about early detection and hear many inspiring stories from those folks, but those who are in the stage IV club don't always have that benefit. I don't know...I am nervous as heck. I don't have any technical info to share. I am just a girl who has stage IV cancer mets to the bone who colored outside the lines a bit and it worked! If I can help one person out there...give some hope, then my nervous knots are well worth it!
Event's Details
After finding a lump in her breast in August of 2006, Stephanie Brynjolfson had a mammogram and a needle biopsy done and the tests were clear. One year later, the lump reappeared along with hard tissue surrounding it. Her doctor referred her to a surgeon who removed the lump and diagnosed her with Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma. Her doctor recommended a bone scan and a PET scan and the results of those tests confirmed that the cancer had spread to her bones. She was at stage IV of Inflammatory Breast Cancer.
With great determination Stephanie set in motion a plan to strengthen her body with a diet of organic foods, the elimination of diary, animal products and a supplement program. She now feels fantastic. She has completed radiation treatment and hopes for a clean bill of health.
If you have had cancer personally or know someone who has cancer, you can call the Ask the Doc Show with any questions regarding this issue LIVE on Monday, January 12, 2009, at 1:00 pm. Just call (646) 716-7482, with your questions. To listen, please log on to www.radiovnahealth.org or watch us on webcam at www.helloworld.com/vna-ic

I listened to the interview and would love to talk to you alittle more to understand everything you did. My Dx seems very similar to you. I havent started any treatments yet. I had a lumpectomy on Jan14th. But a CT scan just should what they think is met to the bone...my pelvic. I had a Pet scan last week and that area did show up. So now I have a bone biopsy on Wednesday. I am so overwhelmed but willing to do WHATEVER I have to beat this. Please contact me.... lauraw100@yahoo.com ...looking forward to hearing from you and learning!!! Laura
