You really need to get a copy of your path report so you know and can share more information.  2 cm i middle sized, but you don't mention the Her2 status, or the grade?  Having clear/clean nodes is fantastic.  Do you have a copy of the report yet?

    Sheri-

Wish is right, you need your whole pathology report to get the whole picture about what is going on with you. Missing pieces of the puzzle that make up our tumors just don't tell the whole story. However, those clear nodes are a MAJOR plus on your side. Hang onto that for now.

The learning curve on this mess is huge and it's totally normal to panic "right out of the gate." I sure did, and I still have my moments. However, this group is an amazing resource. This site has a ton of information on it. Take your time, make sure you understand what the eleventy zillion terms mean, and then figure out how you feel. (I also read your plea re: your oncotype.)

When you have specific questions, it's a good idea to make your post title reflect that. Like: "Oncotype Score 15, Chemo?" or "PR+/ER- Affects Prognosis?" That way it will catch the eye of people who have been through what you have, or are going through it now.

Of course, when you just need to yell for help, that works too. Wink

We're here. You're not alone. All of us will get through this--together. Hang in there.

Dont be sorry for posting, thats what we are here for......I know your scared and this is all alot to try to take in and handle.

You are in the worst part of things right now...once you have all the details and a firm treatment plan in place you will begin to feel more in control...but for now if you have to tell your doctor about your anxiety, there are tons of meds they can give to help you....its important that you rest and keep yourself as healthy as you can right now so dont hesitate to take these meds.....I didnt and looking back I wish I had!!!!!

I didnt take the time to read your other posts but I will in a moment...I wanted you to know that we are here...

I would like to suggest that you ask your doctor about doing the Oncotypedx testing on your tumor...that test will give you more insight on whether the cancer you have will or will not respond very well to chemo.....

Try to take things one day at a time...try not to think about treatment and such until all your test results are back....

Hang in there girl!!!!!! Keeping posting and talking to us.

    Hugs

I wish I knew how to help you. I am new to all of this . I am just glad I found this discussion group because I too am scared. Actually I feel my emotions are on a roller coaster.I have dcis and just finished radiation. Now I am concerned about taking tomixfen. I will check in again and see how you are doing and what your DX is.  From reading some of the replys, these gals know how to help you get the info you need.

    Sheri,

I responded to your similar post in the "Just Diagnosed" thread.  But in that post you said that you were ER/PR positive.  So do you know for sure whether you are ER+ or ER-?  This does make a difference in your treatment options, specifically whether you will benefit from hormone therapy drugs.

I'll second what the others have side - you need to get a copy of your pathology report so that you have all the information about your pathology.

    Hello Sheri,

Get as much information as you can and have them explain everything to you.Its good that the nodes are clean. Hang in there. Breast cancer can be cured. Usually when you have all the right information you know what the battle will be for you and you will have the strength to get through this operation, chemo or whatever it takes to get this cancer out of your body.I am cancer free after almost seven years. I had chemo and now I'm sending you a message that you will be fine. Take one step at a time. Good luck girl, we're behind you.

    Sheri,

I am ER- and PR+ too.  This is not very common, but there are several of us out there with this prognosis.  I had a lumpectomy, did chemo and rads and have just celebrated being 2 years out from my diagnosis.  My oncologist put me on Arimidex, a hormone therapy.  He says that it will help, even though I am only PR+.  I, too had clear nodes so I am hopeful.  Send me a PM if you need to talk more.  I've done a lot of research on this.

HUGS!  I know that scary feeling that you have right now.

    Rita
