I'm home!  Roads were fine.  No - next time dessert's on me!  I'll follow Wing's advice and get dessert first so I have room for it.

It was very nice to meet the Michigan gang again.

As always, you guys are great motivation.  I almost forgot how evil Femara was.  So, there is hope that all the nasty side-effects will just be a bad memory soon.  Am I the oldy of the group?  Pat and I are hitting 6 years this year.

I went and started our team 'Wings of Hope'! To join, follow this link and select the Register button. When it comes to the Team section, Wings of Hope will be in the drop-down list.

No, I think I'm the oldie. I turned 60 in August.

I just had my daughter really late - there's nothing like trying to fund a retirement and a college education during a depression!

But I am so lucky - did anyone else see Tracy's update on Deb C? Things are not good. My heart is sore.

I'm sorry to have missed the last two lunches.  I'd really like to meet up with all of you again to touch base.   There's so much to catch up on.  It's been too long and I miss all you wonderful ladies.

I've been off the boards dealing with parent and adult/child health issues. My mom is in a nursing home with dementia and my daughter is dealing with a life threatening Lupus flare after she lost her baby.  Spiritually, I was empty, I couldn't bear to hear of any more losses.

So shocking about Kay, she'll certainly be missed.

Thanks Irene and Nancy for the email notification.  I'd love to make it to the next luncheon.  Maybe in the spring? A time of renewal.

    Take care

Sue - I meant Pat and I are coming up on 6 year Survivors.  Not that I'm not an oldie though.  Thanks for the update on DebC.  My heart goes out to her and her family.

Geri - The Spring will be wonderful to catch up.  I'm crossing everything for your daughter and you know I understand what you are going through with your parents.

I'm still on a quest for that perfect meeting place with round tables so we can all hear and talk. Sorry if it is getting annoying with me always saying "WHAT"? Someone mentioned that chemo destroys your hearing.  I was thinking my problem was genetic or from blasting loud rock & roll as a kid.  Is anyone else having hearing problems since chemo?

Chris - if you talk to Connie Sue, let her know we are thinking of her and wish the best at her appointment today.

If anyone tried the link above, it was messed up even though it appears to be correct.  I edited it and it appears to be fine.

It was great to see everyone yesterday.  On the way home, I got caught in stopped traffic on 696...not sure what the issue was but we sat there for about 10 minutes.  And I heard of several bad areas on the radio...so I am glad everyone made it home ok.

Sorry I missed the lunch at Chili's.   I even live in Brighton, but I'm in the throes of weekly chemo and it was kicking my butt yesterday.  Glad to see you all had fun Smile

    Hi All Michigan Friends:

Well, we didn't make it to Chicago for Quinn's birthday since the roads here, there and all the way in between were terrible.  Maybe next weekend???  We'll have to see.

With the postponment, I thought perhaps I might make the luncheon but my hubby had made some brunch plans so I didn't want to leave him high and dry at that point.  Anyway, glad you gals had a great time . . .

Nancy:  Yes, I can't believe that we are coming up on our 6th anniversary this year.  Mine is in May - what about yours???  I sure miss seeing you - I remember our very first luncheon and it's hard to believe it's almost 6 years ago, isn't it??

Gerri (GMR):  I am so very sorry to hear all you've been dealing with.  I am especially sorry to hear of your sweet daughter's health issues and loss of her baby. I can certainly understand the spiritual vacumn you must have felt and may still feel.  I am sending many prayers for peace and grace to fill you and your daughter's world, Gerri.  May God bless you and I hope as you mentioned that we can all get together soon.

Judy B.- I  want to send a shout out to you as well and pray that you are progressing along well and that you too have a sense of peace and grace.  I also send wishes for your daughter's health and pray that she too is doing better and better.   God's blessings on you both.

Hugs to all our Michigan ladies!!

    Pat

Won't know details for a couple of days, but I'm pretty sure that I'm aheadin' out the door.

    This sucks.

Anybody know of someone looking for a writer?

Nancy..........I like the new pics of your 'babies'.............call me stupid....but can you believe (I'm sure you can!) that I always thought they were dogs!!!!

Oh Sue.......sorry to hear that you might be joining the growing trend of 'past employees'....sure hope it doesn't happen.

Ladies- in the recur and mets forum there is a thread titled "single pink rose for Alaska Deb" There is a florist in Deb's town and they are putting together a pink rose bouquet and card fom the bco ladies.

Hey Judy, you beat me to it!

It started as a Pink Rose in a Bud Vase for $26 a piece..................but because of the large number of orders so far....(over 40).......the florist is going with a single rose for $10 and making a beautiful arrangement with all our roses from all over the Country (and outside).  Then they will put all of our names on a BIG card.

Please don't feel obligated, I'm adding the florist here.

Jess, Wish and other Michigaders - that would be fantastic if you could make the trip out by the group of us when the weather gets nice.  Let us know if you are up to it and we will plan a special gathering to meet you.  Wish, I feel like I know you since we follow the same posts.   Jess - you had a question about a wig on another post.  I got mine online from annswigs.com.  Look for a mono top that feels very natural.  My big thing was that most of them looked like the bubble hair of the 50's.  If you have a wig shop near you, try some on and jot down the style number.  annswigs will find it for you for a fraction of the cost.

Does anyone want to go to a Team Captain Workshop for the Komen Race?  There are two this week and I will go if someone wants to join me.  I'll post the details below.  They are giving tips on fund-raising which you know I'm not big on.  I may give it a try again this year.  I have new respect for Komen after reading that they funded the Rho gene work.  So, I take back what I said before that it's just about advertising and selling toilet paper.  Now we know where the money is going!

Hi everyone.  Well, I am pretty much all recovered from surgery, back at work.  I am supposed to start chemo on Tuesday.  So that's scary, didn't have chemo last time, just rads.

It sounds like you guys had a nice get together, although the traveling part sounded treacherous.  I don't know about anyone else, but I have had enough of the snow this year, can't wait til spring comes.

I will let you know how my tx goes.  Thanks for asking :)

Judy - sorry you have to do chemo, but glad that the surgery is over - Has you onc recommended a regime?

Well, I'm now at liberty - they are covering our health insurance until the end of April - that'll help. Updated the old resume before this happened, but there aren't a lot of places I want to send it to yet.

Hubby is on Social Security and has a part time job, so we shouldn't need to touch our retirement for a long time, when you figure in unemployment. It's just, after 5 years, I'll miss them,

The best thing about all of this is that the cancer isn't a big deal on my mind -- I'm so glad we found it early, and that it was low grade.
