I haven't really been here in quite a while- I'm trying to catch up on reading. To JudyB (i think?)- I had all my treatment at UofM. I loved the people there, and feel I got excellent care.
heading over to mapquest to find Brighton's Chili's!
-
http://www.chilis.com/locations/
if you pick the Brighton Chili's you can get a map and driving directions
-
Thought I'd better post so Judy doesn't think she's having a conversation with herself!!!! (just kidding)
Looking forward to Sunday at Chili's....................
Thanks for posting the link for directions................If you get off of 96 at Grand River in Brighton you will see Target/Chilis/something else(?) turn in there and Chilis is right there.
I think I'll call them in the morning......unless Rockysmom wants to.............and see what they think about reservations.........looks like we're going to have a pretty good turn out!

Just wanted to check in here, been very busy getting everything situated before my surgery, cooking, cleaning, work, etc. I have been reading posts regarding surgery and recovery, and feel like I am ready to do this, or at least as ready as one can be.
I have my bi-mast. tomorrow, 1/9. I am very nervous, and just want to get this over and done with. I am scheduled at 9am, so hoping to be home tomorrow night. Not sure if I want to stay overnight at the hospital or not.
Thanks, Judy, it's good to know that you (and others) seem so happy with U of M for your care. So far, I am happy there as well.
I will post again when I am up to it and let you all know how I am doing.
Judy B.

Judy B - Sending positive vibes your way today. Please keep us posted.
Egads, I just checked the nutritional content for the chicken crispers I had the last time I went to Chili's. 1880 calories! yikes.
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
Irene
-
JudyB - sorry you won't be there, but it sure sounds like you were productive the night before surgery! I scrubbed down the refrigerator at 2 AM the night before lumpectomy; it wasn't like I could sleep or anything.
Maybe I'll bring a print-out of the nutritional content of the menu - I've pretty much decided on chicken fajitas with a side of broccoli - I just signed up for the office Pounds Off challenge (there's a cash prize!), and I can't afford to make a big mistake.
-
JudyB- thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery from the surgery (((hugs)))
-
JudyB - Hope it's over by now and you are resting comfortably. Wishing you a speedy recovery from the surgery. Come back when you feel up to it.
Looking forward to Sunday. Neesie - did you make reservations? Hope everyone is putting up with the snow!
Nancy
-
Hoping all went well, JudyB and that you are back home..........thinking of you!
No, I didn't make reservations.............probably should do a count and give them a call and see what they say!
Neesie

I just called Chili's and they don't take reservations. She said that they do call ahead seating and that Sunday MORNING isn't usually busy...................1p is kinda AFTERNOON I think! Anyhow, she said to call around noon or 12:30p and it shouldn't be a problem. I told her we were expecting 10 to 12 people.........................I wish we could get a big round table at our luncheons........so much easier to talk to everyone!

Thanks everyone. I had my bilat at 9am, and got home around 7pm last night.
Feeling sore, tired, all to be expected. Glad to be home with my kids.
Anyway, just wanted to say I am doing well. You guys have a nice lunch, and be careful in all the snow we'll be getting today.
Judy b.
-
Judy- glad you got to go home. Hope you are able to rest up and enjoy your kids. Praying for a speedy healing.
WINGS-BONNIE-- We could meet in Ann Arbor and I could drive into Brighton! Then you wouldn't have to fight these roads for so long (if you trust MY driving-lol). Let me know
Hope the road crews get things cleared up for everyone to drive into Brighton Tomorrow!
-
Wings...I think it is faster 94 to 14 to 23..Brighton is probably about 20 minutes north of AA. Maybe not even that far.
96 goes to far north. -
Looking forward to tomorrow. Is it snowing down there? We haven't gotten anything new up here yet.
Judy B - Glad to hear you're home and feeling okay.
-
Judy B - Nice to hear from you. So glad you got to come home. Nothing like recovering in your own home and bed. Have a speedy recovery and hope to meet you at our next get together.
JudyRock- Sweet of you to offer driving me to Brighton...thanks... but I don't want you to back track for me and according to map I think I can find it. Plus we had at least 5 inches of snow and more on the way for a total of 8-10 inches. If roads are not to snow covered I will give it try that way if I have to turn around and come home you are not waiting on me.
Chris - Thanks for the tip on directions that's what my map suggests 94 to 14 to 96.
SEI - Throwing a snowball your way in case you miss not having snow.
Sue - I admire you for sticking to your nutritional guidelines. I just go ahead and pig out then worry about it later. Chicken fajitas do sound good.
Neesie - Yes I will call you or Judy if I can't make it......thanks for worrying.
Travel safe girls.
Hugs

Hi Girls.......................snowed in yet??
I'm kinda concerned about tomorrow.................they have alot of cleaning up to do before the roads will be 'safe'..................I started out for Novi today and didn't make it past the Kensington exit........between merging onto 96 from S23 and Kensington...(the first exit) I saw one accident and two cars waayyyyyyyy off the road....Needless to say.......I turned my car around and took the back roads home..........they were no better, but I feel like I have more control on little 2 lane roads!
Shall we just wait and see what the morning brings?? I know Bonnie is getting hammered and they just extended the Winter Warning until 10p here...............How's Pinckney, Nancy?
I'll check back in a bit and again in the morning..................I hope we can meet, but I don't want people putting theirselves in danger!
Neesie
-
Yeah, everybody check in in the morning. It took us a long time to get this scheduled, so let's see what we can do.
This is Michigan - our sterling road crews should have the main roads clear
-
Snow's stopped, and 6 Mile looks good!
Keeping my fingers crossed.
-
Does anyone know if 94 and 14 are snow covered?
I don't want to slip and slide for 85 miles.
Wings
-
Checking in....................Channel 2 (fox) said they are working on roads but it will be late afternoon before all are in good shape.............................DH just went to get the papers so I told him to peek at 23..................
Fingers are crossed............but I don't do snow/ice and I don't have far to drive!! We'll see what the rest of you all say in the next couple of hours!
Think I'll check MDOT.......
Neesie
-
Shoot, I'm trying to copy/paste a link and it won't let me...............
www.michigan.gov/mdot
click on the map and all the xways will show up with a report...........
MOM is on the phone......I'll be back

I'm thinking that as long as it isn't windy, the main roads will be okay. Especially with the sun shining. Is it shining down there??
-
I checked Clickondetroit.com and it looked like the major freeways only had a few slow spots. They didn't show any accidents.
I haven't been out yet, but I think I'll be able to make it.
Anyone else make a decision yet?
-
Hey Jasmine - Nice to see you. Thanks for the info.
Well girls I just checked the MI state police site.
94 and 23 were all checked for wet, icy, snow covered, slushy, icy overpass... none were marked clear.....this was at 8:14 this morning. It's possible things have improved since then??
Think I will try it ..can always turn around. If I at least get to Jackson I can go shopping instead if roads are bad.
Well check back in a few.
Wings
-
The main road out of my sub looks good and I already shoveled myself out of the driveway that my a!!&3*! neighbor plowed me in. I'm willing to give it a try if the majority think they can do it. There is easy a foot of snow since yesterday afternoon. The sun is shining around here. Are we going to do it?
-
I'm going to go for it. We didn't get nearly as much as you guys did. For a change.
-
Hi Wings. I was just making Neesie's link 'clickable.'
-
I'm going for it. We live on a main road, near 96, and none of the stations are reporting problems, which they would, if they could find any.
Instead, I got to see a lot about the auto show.
-
Ok, I'm going for it also. Hope those who try it have a safe ride. I may need dessert if I make it.
xxxooo
