Advantage of Clinical Trial?

The two oncologists I've met with have all talked to me about the Tailor trial to see if I am interested.  I got my Oncotype test results back today and it was a 14 so am not doing chemo.  I felt a little guilty for saying no to the trial but did not see how participating would benefit me.   Yet, sometimes people on here are looking for trials to participate in.   Is there something I am missing? Is the point of the  trials to provide data that will help other people in the future?  Is there any other benefit?  Thanks.

I'm not sure, but I am looking into a trial for HER2+ vaccine that would definitely benefit me, as well as others is the future.

I think it's a very personal choice, and there is no reason to feel guilty.

Carolina59 and Missing Nawlins, I believe clinical trials are a personal decision and made after much pondering.  I think Carolina59, the vaccine sounds very, very promising and might have great benefit to you in your early stage cancer.  Good luck.  Maryiz
