There is a nutritionalist that I went to after chemo/rads that I found researching on the internet.  She is in New York however she does do phone interviews/sessions---- you fax her your bloodwork, etc. and she works through a plan for you.  She has done a number of seminars in cancer centers and seems to specialize in breast cancer.

I only did two sessions by phone but follow her protocol three years later.  She has a pretty strict diet that I can't follow as well as I probably should but I try.  I also take her supplements which seem to mirror a lot of the ongoing research.

Her name is Dina Khader and you can google her and find her website & details.  I honestly didn't find being in Florida and doing this over the phone a problem.  Maybe it can work for you if you can't find someone local.

    Hope this helps.

    Jacqueline,

I am also familiar with Dr. Patrick Quillin's Beating Cancer With Nutrition.  He is former VP of Cancer Treatment Centers of America.  You can also Google him.

Would you be kind enough to list some specific information regarding what you eat and if you take any supplements, which ones, etc.?

I would appreciate if... I am sure many others will also.

    Thanks!

    Carol

    Of course!!!

As far as the food she recommends....

Lentils 5X a week..... I was blown away by this but then did some googling and have a better understanding as to why.

Fruits but limited due to high sugar content

    brocolli, cauliflower---veggies in general

no red meat... only chicken and fish

wheat bread is a no no ....she says it lowers immune function

Stay away from acidic foods....no orange juice as an example.

I have taken her supplement plan which is her green tea supplement, brocolli sprout formula supplement and something called Oncaplex (which includes tumeric, citrus pectin, reservatrol etc.). I've been doing this consistently for 3.5 years. I have found compelling research that seems to lean towards all of this.  The only vitamins I take are vitamin D/calcium which seems to be the only vitamins the big guys in oncology feel are good for you these days.

I have no idea if this is good advice or not......just what I have been doing......since I have been beating the odds I'm not stopping it!!! LOL.

Thank You for sharing your information!

Keep doing what you are comfortable with and I personally believe that it is body, mind and spirit to heal us from any "dis" ease.

Jacqueline - Thanks very much for the nutitrionist name.  I went to her site and lots of infornation!  Do you mind if I ask which supplements from her site you are using?  There so many listed.  I need to look up lentils - - interesting but 5 times a week is much maybe.  I would love to find some really good Japanese green tea to purchase.  Again a search provided so many sites and type I don't know which or how to choose.  Joann

She has me on her Khader Group Green Tea Formula...I have to take one capsule three times a day.  She used to have me on a Brocolli Sprout supplement but she stopped me on that just a few months ago and has me taking three capsules of Oncaplex 3X a day which has all kinds of things in it plus the brocolli sprouts.  I will tell you that this is not an inexpensive venture when you are taking this many capsules per day but this is what she tells me to do.

I probably drink 4-5 cups of green tea a day.  I quit my Coca-Cola when I was diagnosed due to the sugar. (and I was a coca-cola addict).

I agree with Carol that although there is definitely scientific support for all of this, mentally I feel like I am helping to beat down the beast.

I hope this helps....save you from paying for a consult!!!  It used to be that if you ordered on the first wednesday of the month and called your order in you got 10% off. I only order on those days.
