Tina, it's private ...  you  have to "allow" people to be your friends.  If you post a pic then you have to decide if "everyone, friends only, friends of friends, or your network" can see it.

Yes Tina... we REALLY want you to be on facebook. Okay product alert.

I was with my mom yesterday, and I used her lipgloss, and absolutely LOVE IT!!!!!!

It's Bare Essentials BOXUM lips in Brandi.  It's supposed to be a lip plumper gloss, which I don't really care about, but it tastes good, gives your lips a cooling sensation, and the color is just beautiful.

Then, my mom pulls this stuff out of her purse which is a MUST BUY. It's called

MODELE anti-wrinkle invisible lip definer It's a $30 pencil, but she says it lasts 6 months. You line the outer rims of your lips to keep lipcolor from going into the cracks and from spreading outside the lip line!

It's great, and I highly recommend it. www.modeleskincare.com

Okay Makeup girls... I'm not trying to hijack the thread, but I'm wondering what you all think of this idea....

Most of you know I was laid off two weeks ago, and most of you know we had to cancel the wedding two months ago when M.'s salary was cut in half and he had to take on a second job just to make some sort of ends meet.

Well, I'm trying DESPERATELY to get back my HUGE wedding deposit. The woman who owns the villas in Jamaica, will not budge unless at least one of the villas is rented for the week of April 26-May 3rd.

I wrote a really heartfelt letter to her last week, when I lost my job, explaining the dire circumstances. I asked my mom to email her too. Would this be nuts, or do you think if I enlisted my friends (hint hint) to write emails to her on my behalf, do you think she would change, or find it in her heart to refund even half of my money??? Or am I just wasting my time??? The money she has could pay four months of our bills. And thats huge...

    thoughts appreciated.

Beth, I think you should  put your week up on Craig's list or auction it off to friends!!!  Try facebook status reports!!

If I can help you get back ANY of your money, I will do it.  An e-mail is a simple enough thing to do so send me her addy and consider it DONE.

If she still won't budge, I think it's a great idea to at least investigate using Craig's list or eBay, if legal.  (See girls, I'm not totally averse to modern technology.)

Is there any clause in your contract with the resort that says you will receive a refund in certain cases?

Beth, I'd be happy to guilt-trip this lady in any way that I can.  I know she has her own financial concerns, but jeez, I didn't know you'd gotten laid off, etc., etc.  This miserable, rotten economy is so bad.  There are so many women here on the forum who are affected by this.  Anyway, there's nothing like public humiliation & harrassment from a bunch of BC survivors to make someone see the light, as it were, so let us know what we can do.

Laura, we must be both on self-improvement kicks for the New Year.  I have not used the product you mention but did purchase the new Olay Regenerist 14-day Skin Intervention kit and the Micro-Sculpting Cream.  LOL  I could use a bit of sculpting, let me tell you!

    http://www.olay.com/boutique/regenerist/

Since I've liked the Regenerist eye serum so well, I thought I'd give these products a try, too.  P&G had coupons in Sunday's paper and CVS has them on sale this week at pretty good savings, about 20% or more, depending upon product.

I used the first vial of the kit last night.  Went on fine, very mild smell and NO irritation.  This morning, I used the cream for the first time, too.  It has a mild scent, but I would certainly prefer it with NO scent at all.  It's tolerable.  But, if it works well, I will keep it up.  I'll report back in a couple of weeks to let you know if I've undergone a stunning transformation.  Wink

Well, hope springs eternal in the human breast, not to put too fine a point on it.  (Cripes, I'm full of innuendo and puns this morning.........Honest, they just came out.)

Someone suggested I call a news station-- like 7 on your side... and see if they can help me get my money back.  Technically, she says if she rents at least one of the two villas I would get my money back, but how would I even know the truth?

Anway, I am still so in love with the bare essentials boxum lip gloss. Anyone have any fun plans for tonight?

I read yesterday in WSJ that a company that make drops for glaucoma is about to launch their product for growing eyelashes. As it turned out people who used the drops had grown long and thick eyelashes. My Mom did not realize it was happening to her. But her lashes became so long and gorgeous , they looked like falsies.

A similar but weaker ingredients were used by some cosmetic companies like Jan Marini and Revitalash. But since the ingredient was deemed to be more of a drug then cosmetics , FDA disallowed it and they had to reformulate it resulting in a weaker version. So now the new product has cleared FDA trials and been approved. It will launch in February.

I have a friend of mine who has a trich, a condition where a person pulls out her eyelashes. And she was able to regrow them fast with the old formula. But the new one was not very effective. So the one coming out  in February will be even more potent than all the previous ones.

Ijl  I would love to get my hands on this product.  Is it worth buying the weaker products like Revitalash?

    mumayan.

I would not buy reformulated Revitalsh now. My friend said it wasn't working well anymore. In one month a much more potent stuff will be available. Revitalasg is rather expensive.

I'd wait too.  I have used the new Revitalash and it DOES work, takes a few weeks tho.  Unfortunatley, I asked for it for Christmas and rec'd it, so I have a new one.  Hmmmm.

I ck'd the pharmacy and the regular medication one is $155 per prescription.   will have to see what they come out with in Feb.

And 30-some minutes across the border, the better pharmacies will have name-brand product for 40-50% off. Rather than these stubs, I might actually grow some eyelashes back!

    You girls are so cute!

I read that about the glaucoma drops with the eyelash growing ingredient.  Careful, though, there are some side effects.  Better read the fine print.  Still, it promises to be a winner because almost everyone wants longer, thicker lashes.  BTW, mine are falling out for the 6th or 7th time since chemo.  Every time they do this, the "lash fall" is less synchronized but it's still noticeable.  This is getting ridiculous.  Thank goodness for mascara!

Tina - Thanks! I'm curious as to why they keep falling out? I just googled it and Thyroid probs can cause it... have you had yours checked? My Thyroid went whacko after chemo (and I have read here that many girls have the same probs after treatment)... I have been on Synthroid ever since. Just fyi...

Thyroid?  No, I don't think so.  No other symptons.

It's just the fallout pattern from the A/C.  Some people's fall out once, most people's fall out 2 or 3 times at the most, with the fallout becoming more out of synch with each fallout.  Mine are doing that but just going through more cycles.  Mind you, they are not noticeable to anyone but ME but I AM THE ONE THAT COUNTS!

Rocktober, that is the FF look, right?  Is he the rat you mentioned? LOL

I'm so glad he is not the rat.  I was thinking how nice and kind his face was and would hate to be so wrong.  Like you can tell a book by its cover.  Look at Jeffrey Dahmer (sp?).

I just signed up for a different bundle from verizon.  Double Freedom or something like that.  DSL plus unlimited calling for $49.99 less a $5.00 a month for a year credit for doing in online.  Some things truly do keep getting cheaper and cheaper.

Was talking to the verizon rep a couple of weeks ago when he was fixing my neighbor's phone and asked him when we would get fios in this area and he just laughed and laughed.........Cry

I'm trying to be really good about snacking today.  My new motto is "115 by 2/15."
