stopped the Lexapro

Options

I took it for a little over 6 weeks and can't stand it anymore....constant nausea, which made me eat (like during chemo...the queasy feeling), no energy to work out anymore, constant yawning it wasn't funny anymore.....so....5 lbs + later I am giving up....

Might try Effexor but I am wary....I don't tolerate heavy drugs like Oxycontin etc...seems like anti depressants have the same effect.....and I don't even want to go through the 'body will get used to this' thing.....

I am rather depressed than nauseous!

Calico, I hope that you're tapering off. No antidepressant should be stopped cold turkey.

    Actually,

I did stop cold turkey, day two energy returned and I vacuumcleaned the whole house Wink

Also that terrible all day yawning (was like a seizure) stopped, actually, I think my elevated RED blood count is probably related to this, I'll find out.

Now I have to work hard to get rid of the extra pounds.

I don't see a mood change other than being not as sluggish as with Lexapro (I mean I had a "I don't care attitude" about everything, not really healthy, eat only crab, if this is how antidepressants work, I don't want one....to shower or not to shower, to cook or not to cook etc. was a daily ordeal)

At least I do what is expected from me, still worried about everything and sad, but better than a snail on the couch......

I hope you'll be ok without it, and I certainly understand not wanting the nausea. For what its worth, that's not at all how an antidepressant should feel. I felt sluggish until I went on antidepressants, and then I felt like I'd regained my very self. In fact, within three days I started to feel a little more energetic and "normal." It sounds like lexapro was simply a bad fit for you.

    Hugs and good luck!
