Lilia, Monday 25 degrees at 6 am, Tuesday 30 degrees at 6 am, Last night when I went to bed 40 degrees, this morning 50 degrees at 6 am, Friday calling for snow in the upper elevations (about 25 miles from my house). So it isn't jus New England weather, it is the whole Eastern Seaboard.

It rained so hard yesterday that my dog refused to go outside until it stopped after 5:00 pm. We were under a flood watch then a winter weather advisory overnight. no more rain but cold.

This AM, snow and off course, and it would be too much to ask that the roads be salted/sand... and yes,... the snow was forecasted!!!!!!!

Than again, I guess ICE is my thing this year... about a month ago... I went "flying" w/ my car against a guardrail... damage... $1,800!  And of course, my daughter totally freaking out... poor thing, all of this on our way to school to drop her off.

Today, I did good... until I stepped out of the bus into the sidewalk... OMG!!!!!!!!  I don't even know how my A$$ did not fall on the sidewalk like a ton of bricks.... It was like a movie... step into the sidewalk and start rocking back and forth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Memo to weather-land: I DON'T FREAKING ICE SKATE!!!!!!!!!!!

    There, I vented... feeling better!

20 degrees this morning - I've got a foot of snow on the ground from the storm on sunday/monday. It's very pretty - but  I'm ready for it to be gone ...  too much snow is a pain.  I got stuck getting up the driveway on monday -  in 4WD ...  the truck slid - once it slides you're stuck!  So I had to shovel out - not just once - but twice before I got unstuck.  The truck is now parked at the top of the hill!!   More storms are on the way and I hope it warms up a bit so that it will be rain instead of snow!

Lilia -  that ice sounds pretty dangerous  ... I don't ice skate either ...

700 families in MA are still w/o electricity... today again more ice to begin our day w/ but the temps. are going up to 40s... NOW THE STORY FOR TOMORROW... we are to expected 6 to 12 inches of snow!!!  Starting mid AM and only ending by early eve!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHH!  At least up here we get what the weatherman predicts, not like in Jersey where I lived which trusting the weatherman was the same thing as trusting a lier!

jagsfan: where in this world are you?!?!?!  I am so jealous!  And please, don't add to that temp. the beach and sand!

    Hi all!

We got a couple inches of powdery snow the other day but we are in a winter storm watch for tonight - supposed to get freezing rain and ice and a couple more inches of snow!  Frown But hopefully nothing like what you guys up in the East got!

Hope all who want a white Christmas get their wish - I'd prefer 80 and sunny!

A DEVELOPING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE FROM EASTERN COLORADO THROUGH ILLINOIS... INDIANA... AND OHIO TONIGHT AND FRIDAY. SNOW WILL DEVELOP OVER FAR SOUTHWEST LOWER MICHIGAN AFTER 7 PM TONIGHT AND SPREAD NORTHEAST DURING THE NIGHT. THE SNOW WILL BECOMING HEAVY LATE TONIGHT AND CONTINUE INTO FRIDAY. SNOWFALL RATES OF AN INCH PER HOUR ARE POSSIBLE WHICH WILL MAKE FOR VERY HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS.

TOTAL SNOWFALL IN THE 6 TO 10 INCH RANGE IS EXPECTED BY LATE FRIDAY. THE HIGHER TOTALS WILL BE ALONG AND SOUTH OF A WHITEHALL TO ALMA LINE.

IN ADDITION TO THE HEAVY SNOW... IT/S POSSIBLE THAT SOME SLEET MAY MIX IN WITH THE SNOW LATE TONIGHT AND EARLY FRIDAY SOUTH OF I-94.

I hate winter storm warnings and especially this time of year when so many are hurrying around!  And dh hauling ethynol is not my idea of a worry free job! He's driving through that south of I-94 area twice daily with loads of 200% moonshine!  OH MY GOSH!  I hate that he drives this stuff in this kind of weather especially!

Hey, at least we know this one didn't start in Canada!  Same warning for Toronto and the Niagara region -- more white stuff tomorrow.

Wishiwere --- wishing your dh safe travels.  And to everyone else -- drive slowly!

A lot of the Northwest has been covered with snow for the past week and the storm has really hurt retailers who were counting on lots of Christmas shoppers.  Schools and some businesses have been shut down most of the week and another big snow storm is forecast for the weekend.  The snow is really pretty, but it sure slows things down.  We'll likely be back to plain old rain before Christmas, which is much more normal for this part of the country.

Wow!  I can't even imagine sun and water and sand right now.  I live in Oregon and it's been snow, snow and more snow. Now they are forecasting yet another snow storm followed by freezing rain.  Oh well, I am a teacher and we had the entire week off due to weather.  Now we start our holiday break!  Here is a picture of my dog George enjoying his "snow days!"

Hi Rosie,  sorry I was so slow to respond.  My dear husband is trying to fix our internet.  I finally gave up on him and I am sitting in the den on another router!!  Anyway, I can only explain this in "Mac" terms as I use an apple laptop.  I use Firefox as my browser to post pictures.  I can't get Safari to work.  I upload my pictures from my computer to photobucket.com.  You can get a free account there.  Then, I "hover" with my mouse over my uploaded picture and then I drag down to "direct link" which copies the html link.  Then, I go back to this site, and in the Firefox browser, there are icons above where you type. I choose "insert/edit image" and where it says "image URL--I paste in the code from photo bucket.  Sorry if this sounds complicated!!! It's really not, though.  The only thing is, I haven't figured out how to resize my pictures, so I do apologize that they are sometimes so big!!!

Anne, what a great photo of your beautiful doggie!

Yesterday, it was 9 degrees with a wind chill of MINUS 6! Way too cold for here, but thank goodness it was warmer today, with freezing rain for tonight.  It's supposed to warm up even more and the high on Saturday forecast to be 64.  That's typical of western North Carolina mountain weather!

Hi Mary Jo!  Wow,  MINUS SIX!!!!  And then 64 on Saturday. That is just weird!!!  But it does sound more like North Carolina.  It is going to snow yet again tonight, and then I think it will be snow and freezing rain tomorrow.  I hate that!  The freezing rain makes it so difficult to drive!  My mom and brother may not make it tomorrow night for Christmas Eve.  Bummer!!!  This Saturday we are supposed to be in the 40s which is much more typical for this part of Oregon (near Portland).  Right now it is about 29 degrees!  MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Hi Anne, I agree with you about the freezing rain-- that is a no-win driving situation!  I sure hope your mom and brother can make it safely to you for Christmas Eve.  White Christmases are nice if everyone can stay put, but makes it rough for those traveling.  Hubby and I hope to visit your beautiful state this summer-- he used to live in Grants Pass and I've never been farther west than Nashville, TN, so I can't wait to see Oregon! Smile

Stay warm and Merry Christmas to you too!

Hello all... I did go to Portugal w/o any problems, weather related that is... over there, we had a beautiful Christmas Day, 26th was still good and the only day I had to show Bill around it rained cats and dogs... even like that I took him to Lisboa!  We all got home soaked and wet!  Nevertheless, we had fun!  And than Sunday came and we were back faster that I could say AHHHHH!

As we arrived in Newark, NJ, it was 66!  Oh how I miss NJ weather!  Than in CT/MA the temp. went down as far as 55!

Today, as I left home to come to work it was 38... not bad... it beats the snow and ice!  I am okay w/ that.

Happy and safe holiday to you all.

    Love,

It was 25 degrees this morning and clear. At least we got out of the rain cycle before it turned cold. It rained Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
