Know the area, use to to live in Ocean Townshi[p and work in Long Branch. Depending on get together times and days- it can be at least an hour ride each way.
Elaine
-
Since there are so many of us who are close- would you want to plan a get together?
Are Saturdays or Sundays good for you?
Susan
-
I would love a get together, any day weekend or weekday is good for me (I am not working) but I prefer not to do evening things.
Elaine
-
oopps- sorry Susan, didn't realize I had already sent PM (shows you how tired I have been)
-
No Problem EWB
I work from home so weekedays are good for me too
Susan
-
I'm assuming this is being held off until the weather breaks?
-
Felicia, I hope you have a shovel ready! They keep upping the expected accumulation. We have our tractor-plow backed into the garage, ready to plow out to the road.
-
Nancy, last I heard was 6" to 8" (that was this morning). I really hope we don't get much more than that...
My H2B (hubby to be, lol) is convinced we won't get anything but a dusting. I think he's loony and have the salt, shovels and snow blower right near the garage door so he won't have to go all the way to the back of the garage in the morning...
I just remembered, the guy who owns the building I rent my office in is from New City. Now I can say I know tow people from there, lol...
-
Snow? Haven't heard anything about snow...I really like cold and snow so I, for one, am hoping for lots. My son's gf is here from Georgia and has never seen snow- that would be so cool for her. Forget the shovel- I'll call for the plow
-
If you are in Northern NJ, EWB, you'll be seeing some white stuff tomorrow. I'm an hour north of NYC and the reports are calling for 8" to 12" - then more on Sunday!!
-
Felicia,
The snow started about 9:30- last I heard 3-5 inches today which is not bad, but sleat mixed in with it. blah More snow Saturday and sleat/rain on Sunday.
Excellant day to stay in w/cocoa, pjs and a book
-
Felicia - where abouts do you live? I'm about an hour north of NYC too - top of I-684. Had about 8" of snow yesterday. Fortunately, my plow service did get my note confirming we wanted to renew for the season!
-
Joan, I'm in Orange County - about 15 min. north of West Point...
Sucks about your plowing company! We had about 10" or so and my own personal plowing company (son and H2B, lol) got our driveway under control. Can send them over for tomorrow's storm if you'd like...
-
Hey NY, NJ, CT gals!
Are we going to try for a Get Together in 2009?
-
Felicia - We are on track with our plow service now. Godd thing since we need him today and it sounds like again on Friday. We are right across the border from Danbury, CT. Likely puts us less than an hour apart. Hope all is going well for you.
All - I would be up for a get together depending on location. Much easier to get to central/northern Westchester or Fairfield County but I know that would be a problem for the NJ and Long Island folks.

HAPPY NEW YEARS GIRLS!!!!
GET TOGETHER JANUARY 24TH.... working on details....
who's in????
-
I am in for January 24!!
-
If my son doesn't have a meet, I'm in. If his meet is in NYC, I may be able to come anyway - all depends on what time...
-
Posted this on the recurrence board as well
The 24th sounds so great for all........hmmm, if everyone agrees to have it here at my home? I'd love to be the hostess with the mostest ;-) It's my "thang", and I love and enjoy doing it......I'm in Massapequa, an hour train ride on the LIRR from the city....we'll gladly pick you guys up from the station, you can all probably get trains around the same time.....Just throwin' this out there....have done a ton of parties here, and catering in food is really great price wise,.........if ya hate the idea? No worries at all, but I think I'm in a pretty good central spot.
Let me know what ya think, again, won't be offended if ya hate it, but I think it would work out beautifully.
-
Would love to come on Jan 24th, I think the travel to Massapequa would be too much for me.
I am in upstate NY and getting into the City is a haul. But, keep me posted on the location.
Hugs
-
I'd love to do it at Kelly's, b/c it would definitely keep the cost to a minimum-- just gas for most. We could all chip in a small amount and order lunch, or those of us that live in LI could all bring/make something.
-
I just posted a thread on the mets board, please RSVP there if you'd like to join us at my home on the 24th! I would love, love, love to have as many of you as I can.....all sistahs are so very welcome......we'll have a great time!
xoxo
-
I've penciled in the 24th on my calender. I'll be coming from upstate, but I'm a LI girl (N. Bellmore) and I make the trip often. Felicia, Desny, we can carpool if you'd like.
...of course weather could be an issue.

Hi again,
Thank you Peg for the offer of a ride. I might take you up on it as the time gets closer and we know what the weather will be.
And thank you KellyC for hosting this at your house. That is so giving of you and I would love to join in and meet you and thank you in person!
Maybe we should start a list of who will be coming?

This sounds like it will be a wonderful afternoon. I'd love to come, too, but I will be busy running my niece's birthday party. My brother is a single dad and only has his daughter EOWE, and he just happens to have her this year on her birthday (the 24th). And I promised months ago I would get it together for her. I'm sure you ladies aren't doing a theme, so wish me well at my Hanna Montana party for ten-year olds! (I thought I left this all behind a few years ago when my own daughter out-grew birthday parties).
I guess I was picked because I know all about wigs, lol. Ten long blonde wigs and a karaoke machine should keep them busy for a couple of hours.
