FIVE YEARS AGO!!
Hello,
I was diagnosed in Dec 03, 50 yrs, atypical medullary, they treated it as an invasive ductal breast cancer, 2.8cm, triple negative, no nodes involved out of 28, no vascular invasion, clean margins, lumpectomy, 4xac then 4x taxol every three weeks, then 33 rads. I was five years out on Dec.15, 08!! My birthday was on Nov 22 and I had never been happier to turn 55!! Its been a roller coaster ride for me, but I am here and doing great. Hang in there!
Hugs,
Patty
Dx 12/15/2003, IDC, , Stage IIa, Grade 3, 0/28 nodes, ER-/PR-, HER2-Comments

Congrats Patty!!!
I was diagnosed in May 03 and finished up treatment in Nov 03. I recently got together with a group of friends I met at radiation treatment. We are all 5 years out and doing great!
I'm lurking here today. I am now finally to the point that I don't think about it every day. My kids were 5 and 8 when I was diagnosed. They are now 11 and 14. Keep the faith!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY.
Just to let you all know that I was diagnosed six years ago today. I have been dancing with NED since then. I was Triple Negative, 3.5 cent. tumor, 1/22 nodes. I had chemo first - 4AC then 4 taxol - every two weeks. I had lumpecomy followed by 31 rads. I was 54 at diagnosis.
Love and hugs to all,

Patty and JoAnn, thank you so much for posting. You don't know how much it means to so many people that there is survivors 5 and 6 years and more, coming out to say they are disease free and really kicked cancer's @ss!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE reading those posts, it gives me an attitude adjustment that is often much needed.
Thanks again,
Jill

Hi Jill,
I know it is so important for all of us that are further out from diagnoses to come to the boards and share our stories. There is another great website to check out: http://www.nosurrenderbreastcancerhelp.org/ This site is wonderful, check it out. Hang in there you will get through this. Keep coming here or to the other website I posted.
Hugs

There is also another great website that focuses primarily on Triple Negative Breast Cancer
I was diagnosd 12/02 but it came back 4 1/2 yrs later in 07 so starting over again.
I too love reading posts from the long time survivors, wish more would stay with us or pop in now and then to remind us it isn't as bad as we read.

Is your second time a new primary or a recurrence? Local recurrence?
