I have a question for all of you.  My family member's IBC has now spread into her bones.  Is there any hope for her?  Please let me know if any of you have experienced this or know of anyone who has experienced this. Thank you

My IBC hasn't recurred to my bones. Is your family member's bc hormone driven or her2+? Hopefully the new tx that the onc comes up with will knock those mets out of there. Please know that there is HOPE.

    Hugs and Prayers,

    Lexi

Her bc is hormone driven, and she is going back to the onc sometime this week, but it sounds like all they will give her is meds to relieve the pain and maybe something to strengthen bones.  Very hard to see when she is not yet 30 with four small children.

Thank you for you prayers, we will be needing them.

    H.

Never, never, give up. Have her go to a major breast center.  I don't know where you live, but bone mets are very manageable.  MD Anderson is the expert on IBC.  If she can, she should go.  We are getting closer and closer to major breakthroughs now that they are understanding the biology of each BC.  Please have her be aggressive and go to MD or research a  clinical trial, where oftentimes you will find future treatments.  Maryiz

My mom was diagnosed with bone mets and as far as I have read it is "better" there than brain, liver, etc. Her's is hormone driven.  Why only meds for pain?  I agree that she needs to go somewhere that has experience in dealing with this.  My mom gets taxotere, cytoxan and herceptin.

Thanks so much for all the response.  She is going to start chemo again because radiation will not help being there is spotting on the bones and lungs.  Went to a new doctor this week and they are the ones starting it over.  Hopefully he can help a little better than the first one.  The first one didn't have too much experience with IBC. So keep praying with us that this one will provide the answer and all the help.

My IBC had already spread to bone when I was diagnosed.  That was 19 months ago.  I am still here, and have been in constant treatment (chemo, hormonals, Bone strengtheners etc.) but I am still here.  There is hope for her.  It is a hard battle to fight, and the victories sometimes are few and far between, but there can be victories.

Please read Dr. Ray Strand's book, "What your Doctor Doesn't Know About Nutrional Medicine may be Killing you". Proper nutrition and supplements can make a huge difference. Start juicing and getting lots of veggies down her and read read read all about nutrional health benefits. Never Never give up!

My IBC has been going on for some time. I am a triple neg. I think it is good that you have someone else that is better equiped to handle this. You need to feel comfortable with who you see. There are success stories on here that you can read about to give you hope. Anything is possible through God. It is not easy to get the news that your cancer has spread or to even hear that you have cancer. I know she must be strong and having four small children must make it difficult for her yet give her the will to live. My God bring that special light at the end of the tunnel. A comfort of hope to live and to embrace life to the fullest potential. My God bring the right people in your direction. My the Lords hands been there in all the decisions the doctors make. For our Lord is our mighty physican. He can perform miracle. Believe in the Lord. You have my continued prayers.

    Blessings; Elizabeth

What chemo has be prescribed?  This will make a big difference.  Many of us are responding to Ixempra or Navelbine.  This are not always first line of treatment.  I not sure if they can treat bone and skin with a good chemo combo or will they go after one or the other first. You may want to post also on the "recurrence" thread there they may know more about bone mets with skins.

I know of at least one lady.

Sending you prayers.  God is in control no matter what the doctor says.  I have made lier's out of many of them I the last three years.  They never thought I would be here today. I am and doing fine thank you very much. God is Good!
