Dotti, where 'ya been?  How was the implant surgery?  Has the knee been done yet?

The news keeps telling us that there will be huge markdowns in clothing this year because of the economy but I have yet to see them.  None of the catalogs are offering anything special except for free shipping.  That is not going to cut it for me.

I'm here, Tina!  redo on the implant went well and I was released last week.  No worries---used the aloderm to make up for thin skin and it's better positioned and stays on my chest! (novel idea, isn't it?) 

Still holding off on the knee, keep swimming and no hiking (like I ever Did!).  I've been shopping and did very well.  Just a little pain med at night and I'm ok.  Until it wakes me, or keeps me from sleeping from the pain, I'll just keep putting it off.  LOL

I don't if you ladies know this, but Bloomingdales has a HUGE and I mean HUGE sale this weekend. I had an hour on Friday so I stopped by and they had 40% of alraedy 40% items  and then they added another 20% for this weekend. I bought a few nice Ann Klein sweaters for $35 that were originally priced at $120. I am fighting an impulse to go there again today

Since I had my DIEP last year , I enjoy wearing tigther sweaters to show off my flat stomach A lot of my coworkers don;t know  all the details of my disability leave, so they compliment me on having a flat stomach without doing any exercises. They complain that they do exercises  crunches and still they have a bit of stomach fat that does not go away. I just tell them it's in my genes

ijl, I think if you have to have BC, ending up with a flat stomach without exercise is the least medical science can do for you!

Raye, I see you're back to a photo of your lovely grown-up face.  I'm sorry I don't have a photo of me actually wearing my purple outfit & I'm a lousy fashion photographer, but here's the outfit.  The dress is a little wrinkled, but you get the idea!  I love the outfit you described.  I love to dress that way.

The dress & the necklace.  The dress is knee length with a hankerchief hem.  It's voile over taffeta, cut on the bias so it curves with your curves.

Today, we had sleet which turned into rain, which is to turn into sleet again later today. Just totally lovely weather, but a great opportunity to wear my furry boots!

Let's all do a cyber/long distance movie tonight.  I'll think of you if you'll think of me.  We can all get that warm, cozy feeling of girls' night in.

After Christmas in CT, I love Christmas Carol with George C. Scott.  How about The Bishop's Wife?  DH loves that one for some reason.  I like it but it's not my fav.

Any other movies not to be missed?

Raye, those boots really are so cute.  Bet you're glad you bought them. 

Just to go off on a slight tangent, my favorite Colin Firth movie is "Valmont," which is a much more poignant & believable version of "Dangerous Liaisons" that cutiepie Colin made with Annette Bening, another cutiepie.  Really funny, charming & Colin is just so adorable, you want to.........well, you can fill that one in for yourselves.

My second favorite Colin Firth movie is the wonderful "My Life So Far," which actually would be a great movie to watch at the holidays because the spirit of it is sooooo uplifting. 

Had a tradition years ago with friends of mine that we used to watch "The Milagro Beanfield War" at holiday time, just because it was so charming, funny, and the little guy triumps.
