Well, got a call.  Still have NO definitive answers though!  The endo stripe has doubled in thickness, but he only realized this after he said it was good to be under 5 (this time mine was 4.3).  I said, then doubling from last spring is still okay?  I can hear him rifling through papers and he says, well, that is a concern.  Then he starts in about doing a bx!  I said, Uhm, you did one 2-3 weeks ago?  Oh, yes, we did, didn't we he says?  Then he says my estradiol levels are less than 10, which is still post.  Okay, but did he report this to the onco who I saw last week and told me to QUIT using the estrace?  I didn't even mention it, b/c I'm not using anymore of it.  I seriously have NO doubt this man is stumped and useless to a B/C pt, b/c he started telling me that women still continue to make estrogen anyway after being post, and I said, YES, that's why I'm on Arimidex. Oh, that's right he says!  OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  GET ME MY SHOVEL!!!!!!!

So, he says it's okay to wait and see since I"m not bleeding now.  BUT should I bleed again, to call him right away!  LIKE I DOUBT IT!  To what? GO through another endo, and another TV/US and then still have NO answers?  I Think freaking NOT!!!!

So, he says I have NO caner from the 2 tests and I suppose that shoudl make me happy, but....from what I've read, this is almost less reliable than the mammo that didn't seem my ILC! :(

I am praying hard, for you to get B9 results Patrice!  I hope to HEll-O, you don't get an answer like mine gave me...wait and see!  UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Wish, I'm so sorry that your dr. is a BOOB!  What a Freakin' IDIOT!!

I decided that IF I start to bleed again, I am going to INSIST that my gyn take out these FREAKIN' parts that have NEVER worked ANYWAY!!

Wish, I'll bring my shovel, and we can hit him over the head, and maybe knock some sense into your dr.!!

    Hugs

Sounds like a plan harley!  I've been reading about all this and it's making me more and more uncomfortable that he hasn't found the reason for the bleeding and now the increase in size of the endo stripe. Even though it's less than 5mm, it was 1/2 that 6 months ago, so that's not right, they decrease, not increase after you're post meno :(  IDIOT is so right!  I so wish that 3 years when they took the g. bladder and ovary that I didn't say to take it all too!  No reason as you say, although I was still have menses, look at me now?  Dry as a bone, no estrogen, and still freaking bleeding? STUPID Uterus!  Never was kind to me either!

RIP "ER out as we shout to the gynos! :D  When is your follow up planned, or is it a 'call me if it happens again' thing too? :(  STupid men gynos!

I agree with you, Wish.  I would think that your dr. could figure out just WHAT is causing the increase in the endo. stripe.

I was told to 'go back to Dr. Wilson', for a follow up, in a year.  Dr. WIlson was the gyn who REFUSED to even EXAMINE me!!

I told this gyn onc "I am NEVER going back to see Dr. Wilson!"   So then he said, "ok, I'll see you in a year.  I like to do follow ups on my patients."   So, I guess I'll have to call him IF I start to have bleeding issues again.  I am like you, though... dry as a bone,  don't even have a sex life, because it hurts so much!!   I think that Quality of Life is important, too!

I am going to see my onc for my 6 month check up on Friday.  I think I'll re-visit the idea that maybe a hyst. would not be a bad idea, so I don't have to worry constantly that I'll get uterine or ovarian ca.  I read that just having had bc puts us at increased risk of getting ovarian ca.

I HATE that we are going through all this crap!!

You are right.... STUPID MALE gynos!!!

NP hanna, test didnt' show anything, except that my endo stripe has increased. I went b/c of post meno bleeding again. Played the same games with the gyno who put me on estrace and then onco last said NO WAY!

Harley, my onco did say he would agree to trying the e-string and I read on this site and the Susan Love site that they allow for a much smaller amount of estrogen to be used.  BUT, having unopposed estrogen increases the risks for problems including cancer. Such a run around with these guys :(  Not to mention the unhappy men at home :(

Just wish there were ONE stop shopping you know?  Where you could go for the entire day, see the onco the gyn, the pcp, and all and then meet with them for a conference at the end of the day to discuss treatment instead of everyone hiding info about you to another and no one knowing what's up!  CRAZY  No one they say elder people doctor shop and OD from all their meds!  It's probably NOT their fault!

    Wish,

You are SO right!  I think that I would NEVER have sex again, if I could help it, since it hurts so bad, but I try sometimes, just for my dh's sake.  Maybe I'll mention the low dose estrodial again to my onc.
I agree, it would be SO MUCH easier, if we could get ALL these drs. together at once to discuss our problems, which are all caused by bc tx...   My onc seems to just want to discuss the bc tx and not the millions of se's that it is causing me.

I'm glad that at least you can be fairly sure that everything is ok, with the endo. stripe, at least for now.  Are you still taking Arimidex?   I wish there were better choices for us.

    Grrr....

Yes,still on the armidex and the Se's are much less than even 2 months ago.

But Harley.  If I were to continue with the estrogen for dryness/ pain/bleeding, I'd switch to the estring.  I've read a lot about it and the others and that is the one that is suppose to expose you to the least amount of estrogen.  It's a 3 month ring/string of sorts, not even sure, but I think it's self inserted, so that would help too.  Ask your onco or your gyno for a script for it and try it. I"m jsut now going off the estrace and going to see if I keep it supple with the replens and other non-estrogen lubes :)

    Wish,

I was using Replens when I started having the bleeding problem earlier this year, so I hesitate to try it again.

I WISH there was a better choice for us!!

    .....sigh

Harley? Do you mean you started the bleeding after using replens, or you used it when you first had trouble with dryness? I tried the astroglide and it was as bad as KY or what I tried when younger.  Gave me more problems than I started with.

I need to get more replens, b/c I think it might help to keep me where the estrace got me to and then not have to use it or at the most a couple times a month :)  Hoping anyway!

A Christmas Story for people having a bad day:

When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure.

Then Mrs Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more.
When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out, Heaven knows where.

Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered. Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drunk all the cider and hidden the rum.

In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broom.

Just then the doorbell rang, and irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree. The angel said very cheerfully, 'Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?'

And so began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree. Innocent

someone had sent me that story also.   I cracked up when I read it.

Sorry for everyone's problems and worries.   Marking my place as I pull things together after my surgery last Friday.  Yesterday I took no pain pills and went to the grocery store for a few necessities.   I do not dare drive when I take the pills as they make me even more loopy than usual.

    Hugs and Blessings,   Nancy

Nancy?  How are you doing after the surgery?  Sounds like you are getting along well, if you've been out to pick up essentials! Great going!  Sending warm hugs, although it's so cold and white out here with the 15" of snow, that they might be chilly hugs by the time they get to you :)

Daff!  Thanks for the morning laugh~ :)

My niece sent me that xmas joke by email, and I LMAO!  It was too funny!

    Nancy

Glad to hear that your surgery is over, and if you were out and about, and didn't need to take your pain medication,  it sounds as if you are doing ok.  YAY!!!

    Wish,

I was using Replens when I started having the problems with bleeding.  It started as just alot of (wet) discharge, which I thought WTH?!   Then I stopped using it.  Then the bleeding began, and you know the rest of the story.  Strangely, the bleeding and all the se's didn't start until AFTER I got the TV u/s, which I insisted on b/c of the uterine fibroids that I have, and b/c I am taking Tamoxifen, which can cause the endo. stripe to get bigger.  And NOW I don't even trust the TV u/s, because this time, they didn't even see the uterine fibroids on the u/s....    Sheesh!

I guess the Replens was helping a little, but I don't want to have to start that all over again!  I do think that it would be better to try to stay away from estrogen, but I am conflicted because I want my LIFE back!!

Let me know how the Replens works for you, ok?

    Hugs

Nancy, it's good to hear that you are doing well, from the sounds of it.

Daffodil, thanks for the laugh!  I always wondered how that tradition got started.......

How is everyone else, dare I ask?  I've gotta check Patrice's thread.  Back later.

Nancy, it sounds like you're coming along pretty well. Am so happy about that!

Wish, your doc is infuriating! He should have to pay for your blood pressure medication!

That's a cute little joke... I got it in email, too. I get so much email!!

    Hugs to all!

Got all the locks changed yesterday and deadbolts installed where there none on 3 doors. One key for all doors!  Wow, is THAT nice!  I feel safer, but still MAD as heck of course, now I'm on to doing what is necessary to prevent any scum from doing this again to us or anyone near by :(

Loved the joke, sent it on to a couple people who needed a laugh! :) Thanks.

As Kathi says, how's everyone doing?  Beautiful if you look out back where everything is snow cover, but these sub 20 temps are brutal for dec.  Then of course, the area is looking at this already being near our high for snowfall totals for the month and we aren't even 1/2 way there! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!  Can't really afford it, but this snow was so heavy and knocked down so many seed plants in the area, that I broke down, bougth some lard and seed and cheap peanut butter and through together some suet and seed for the birdies. :)  They are rewarding us with their antics.  Of course, it's gotten the kitties off their warm perches too, and more active watching :)

Hi ... we`re a little behind.  No christmas tree, no decorations... nothing.  Scrooge is watching tv instead of decorating what little areas that require Christmas treatment.  My room however has a snowman wreath on the door, a sleighful of snow family in the window and several snowmen on each surface.

My daughter has put her tree up with shiny presents and lights.  The tree skirt I made her is being used as a table cover.... pretty.

I need to be re excized next Wednesday - one week before Christmas, so IF I am going to do anything I guess it had better be this weekend.  The surgeon wants 2 cm clear margins and the path showed only 1 cm clear.  However, the node biopsy was totally clear.   My son and his wife will be in Florida for Christmas with her parents, so I will be alone, which suits me just fine.   I am off to early bird bingo to take my mind off of medical issues.   Hugs,   Nancy

Correction on the 2 cm margin, should be mm... chemo brain fog, CRS, CRAFT, PSD, or whatever other "challenging" term one wants to use...   I try to be upbeat as much as I can, but John Denver song (Sunshine on My Shoulders) in the car brought tears on the way to bingo for some unknown reason.   And I did not win, but had a good outing.

Whew!  I was wondering the same thing.  My closest margin with the mast was 5mm and couldn't imagine if they'd needed 2 cm what they'd have done!  SO glad it's only mm's dear Nancy!  Sorry you'll need more surgery to get that clearance, but should be much easier this time around as you know the routines :)  I know, easy, right?  But you know what I mean, you know now that the nodes are clear, and that it's out, just widening the insurance policy on the margins, right?  Keeping you in good thoughts and prayers dear!  Do you know when you'll have the surgery yet?

Sorry you didn't win at bingo, but hey!  You had fun, took your mind on a clearing and that's always beneficial! :D
