Can cancer spread WHILE you are actively getting taxotere and red devil at the same time?

    Dear Patrice,

    I asked my medical team this same question. The answer is that it is exceedingly rare for cancer to spread during chemotherapy. Also, if you see response in the primary tumor, you can be pretty certain that any other free-floating or contained (as in lymph nodes) cancer is also being fried. 

    However, make SURE your team gets you into radiation as soon as possible after chemo/surgery. Once you're off that chemo, cancer can start to grow again if it wasn't all wiped out or cut out.

    I have tried to find an answer to this question, what would cause the center of my nipples to lose their coloring  there is a definite white spot in the center of them more noticeable in the right than in left and also dealing with more pain in underarm and above clavical, now awaiting for appt at Breast wellness clinic, I have hunted every site about the discoloration any ideas?

    I am not sure if cancer can spread while actively getting treatment, but I can tell you my experience.  I was diagnosed 4-12-07, chemo 5-07 thru 11-07.  I had a bilateral mastectomy 12-26-07.  The pathology done on the breast tissue then showed active cancer cells in the breast tissue.  I had 33 rads after that - and then a PET Scan, which showed mets to the bone.  Since lesions have to get to a certain size before they are seen on the PET Scan, it makes me wonder whether it had spread to the bones during the treatment, or if it was already in the bones, just not big enough to be seen.  Prayers and hugs

    Has anyone ever have everything and anything happen to only one side of their body, I know that's sounds weird but everything has or is happening on my right side. This pain, burning, itching, tingling and stabbing pains is all right side but I have had other incidents as well but yet all one side is there a coincidence?
