Christmas is coming!!! I need to get busy!!
With Christmas just around the corner I thought we could start a post so we can encourage each other to get in the mood and start getting ready. Maybe we could post what we have done that day towards getting everything done. One small step each day? also we could post special traditions we all have or something funny that has happened at Christmas........ Janet

Hi!
On the calendar I have hanging on my office wall, I have written all the dates in December for when I have Christmas work lunches (along with the dates of my dr. appointments
). So far, nothing is overlapping and that gives me something to look forward to all the month of December! I think about this time last year, when I was bald as an egg, and I am so thankful to be well, healthy, and feeling great and able to celebrate Christmas this year!! Mary Jo

I (or should I say my dh) brought the tree in today. It looks funny without anything on it. I'll work on that tomarrow. This year I think we will have cippiono Christmas eve. The kids love it! They insist on LOTS of dunginess crab in it!! Its so funny to see my grandson (almost 1 yr old) look at the tree
...well, I'll see what I get done tomarrow......Janet -
HI again Janet,
My grandson will be a year old on January 16-- I haven't been to my daughter & SIL's house yet to see their tree-- I will go there next weekend and I can't wait to see his reaction. I'm curious-- what are you giving to your grandson this Christmas? I'm having trouble picking out an "age-appropriate" toy, which my daughter insists on. I found a neat baseball and glove the other day... guess that'll have to wait!

Hi Mary Jo I'm trying to figure that out too. I do want to make him a stuffed bunny. He loves soft blankets so I thought He would have fun dragging his "stuffy" around
Plus I will embroider his name on it and who its from so he will have it a long time. Other then that, Im stumped. I think I'll look for a toy that he can put balls in a hole or pull around behind him., I KNOW!!! a pair of play drums
(pay back time
) By the way, they sure are precious little things, arent they?!!....Janet -
Janet, what a sweet and special gift a stuffed bunny will be! I bet he'll keep it forever! The drums sounds like an excellent idea... yes payback time! I was told many times how special grandchildren are, and now I know how precious they are!
Today, I went shopping online and picked out several items that I think my family members would like. When I have the ideas planted in my mind, then the rest is easy!

Mary Jo, Ideas pop into my head what to get people and then I forget them
I am writting it all down. Hopefully the kids dont find the list! I decorated today!! I took it slow but kept on going (like a turtle
)Have you come up with any ideas for your grandson yet? I cant wait for hayden (my grandson) to come over. I made him a special table with non brakies on it so he can touch and play with it all. I only have 1 grandchild so far but they live right next door so I get to see him alot. I also lisened to Christmas music all day. That was relaxing. I really like online shopping. It seems easier then going out shopping......Janet -
Hi Janet, the only progress I've made today is more online browsing. I'm going to have to sit down tonight and make a list too-- I'm not worried about anyone finding it, just about me losing it!-- talk about forgetting things! I think I will buy Mason a Little Tikes Shopping Cart, since my parents are getting him a play kitchen for Christmas. Since his birthday is next month, I get to shop for him again after Christmas-- maybe get some good bargains? I bet Hayden likes his special table-- that sounds like a great idea. Have a nice afternoon/evening!

Hi Mary Jo, I wrapped some gifts tonight but I'm DONE tell tomarrow! zzzzzz....Janet

I got the presents wrapped! Hayden likes his table. now I need to start on his stuffy. Im watching Hayden right now. He sure is BUSY! (but really cute too
).....Janet -
I finally got to Toys R Us to get Mason's Little Tykes Shopping Cart. I think he will really like it and I can't wait to see him pushing it around their home. It will be just a matter of time before he loads up my daughter and SIL's miniature dachshunds and rolls them around
I need to finish ordering gifts online tonight and then start the wrapping. At least I thought far enough ahead to actually buy a jumbo roll of wrapping paper! Now to get some bows. I wish I could tie some creatively, but I always make a jumbled mess. Good luck on the stuffy, Janet! Wish you could post a picture of it here!

I bought Hayden a xylophone today. Not to loud
but alittle noise is good! I couldnt think of what to get my SIL and came up with a ProBass gift card. He is outdoorsy so I hope he likes it. I really have to get sewing or I'll be up all nigh before Christmas
I'll try to figure out how to post a picture of his stuffy.(My son should be able to help me) The shopping cart sounds fun. They love to push things around at this age. And no bows on my presents this year. Just gift tags.I have a little cat that is ripping into everything so this year there is no ribbon, tinsel or breakable ornaments at the bottom of the tree.(That works good for Hayden too) I bought a huge roll of wrapping paper today at costco that will last at least 5 years. It was so cute! .....Janet -
Well, I'm pretty much done but the cards are not happining this year.(except maybe 2 or 3) We even got alittle snow.I finished Haydens stuffie Yea!!!!!.....This year it's Ham for the main coures. I know I'm forgetting something at the store ......Janet

Hi Janet,
Congratulations on finishing Hayden's bunny! I would love to see a pic of it if you could post it. I used to remember how to post photos here, but have forgotten. I'm glad to hear your kitty is having some Christmas fun too!
I still have several gifts to wrap, then I'll be ready. I finished almost all my shopping last Friday night after work-- I got a big burst of energy and actually enjoyed myself. Everything I ordered online finally came and I am very pleased with all of it. I finally addressed 11 cards and put them in the mail yesterday, but I never got around to buying those pretty Christmas stamps. So, my cards almost didn't happen, and probably most of them won't get to the recipient until after Christmas.
I am already thinking ahead for next Christmas and hoping to make a lot of things such as quilted wall hangings, patchwork pillows, etc. Well, I'd better get to bed-- big day tomorrow!
I hope your Christmas is wonderful!!!
