I can't get my act together and I don't know why

Lefty, it was a musical group in the late sixties, but their name "Three Dog Night" came from the Eskimo practice of sleeping with all their sled dogs piled on them for warmth.  

I can't believe there are people who have pets & don't allow them to sleep with them ever.  I mean, aside from the admitted inconvenience of having, say, a Newfoundland taking up two thirds of your king-sized bed so that you & yours are squished along one edge hanging on for dear life; or the amazing ability of a certain merely 30-pound dog of my acquaintance who has an unerring ability to position himself in the exact middle of my queen sized bed so that there is no room anywhere for me to fit comfortably; ditto my only-ten-pound cat; so aside from all that, it's quite a cozy & lovely interspecies experience to snuggle with pets for a good sleep.  Very spiritual, sharing that kind of intimacy with creatures who are not human & don't speak the same language as us.

'Course, they have the best of the deal, because they don't have to vacuum up their own fur, launder the sheets, or even buy the Advantix to prevent any unwelcome critters from sharing the spiritual experience.

And some people call them 'dumb' animals.....

One of my cats likes to sleep UNDER the covers right between me and my husband.

I have a relative with many cats. I stayed with her recently and some of the cats came to sleep with me. Now there are good sleeping cats like the one keeping my feet warm, he and I shifted about during the night and settled down again quite nicely. And the one on my shoulder was pretty good too, she shifted herself as I shifted myself. BUT there was the cat of the little pointy feet. That one stomped about on me every time I moved and stomped until she was ready to sleep again. I never knew a cat could have such pointy feet.



Dogs we have kept off the bed, but a cat will do what a cat pleases.

Not to worry patrice.  You'll probably crash and burn big time after pushing so hard.  That's what always happens to me anyway.  I finally got my house vacuumed and kitchen mopped in time for thanksgiving.  I even scrubbed the shower and got rid of 90% of the grime.  And, I wiped down half of the kitchen's drawers and shelves.  This week, I can barely crawl out of bed. 

Nope, nobody gets kicked off this thread unless you get your house spotless and then manage to keep it that way.  lol  

Well, Daff, just hang it all low and explain to your company, that the elves who decorated forgot their step ladders, so nothing is hung is over hip height!

I have one crazy cat who will not touch anywhere there are blankets.  A little far sighted and freaks with any pattern on anything!  SHE did attempt to sleep on my queen pillow above my head for a couple months, but we came to an agreement when she gouged my eyelid on her run off the pillow one night when frightened   Should've had stitches, but butterflied it closed! UGH!

The other is my knee warmer.  Just flips with me at night and settles back down.  I never know she's there at night

Neither them no the dogs we used to have will sleep near dh, b/c he has the restless leg stuff. Kicks anyone/thing near him!

Awww {{{Hanna}}} so sorry you didn't get the pair   We raised 'the twins') 2 cocker sp sisters till they were nearly 15.  Still can't consider getting another one or two I miss them so much.  They were such a big part of every aspect of our lives and have only been gone since 05, but man....it still hurts to see their pics

I hope you find that special one again, I really know you will.  Maybe next time you walk in there will be another who chooses you yet again and you'll fit like a hand in a glove

Unconditional love is something anyone without pets will NEVER understand, NEVER know and NEVER appreciate from an animal   Sad for them.

I feel the same way. I feel like I am always tired, sad and hurting. My oncologist says that tomoxofin should not cause aches and pains but I have them. Maybe its from the chemo but that stopped 7 months ago. My house is a mess and I just want to go to bed when I get  home from work! One piece of advice if the budget can handle it is a cleaning service. I have one once or twice a month. I try to do it on Fridays so I have a clean home for the weekends. It helps me think clearer. I am going to look into the anti-depressents!

Was at the court house dealings about this scumbag, and missed the call from gyno on that TV/ US last week!  @#($#@&(#  and why he couldn't have just said, everythings fine, but I'd like you to call me anyway?  NO!  Just says he's gotten the results and would like me to contact him!  UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!

OH, and I didn't mention the numbscull most likely has been sitting on this report since last Tuesday.  B/c when I saw my pcp on tuesday of last week, HE had the test resultf already, but b/c gyno ordered the test, he couldn't let me have a copy!  GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!  IDIOTS!

Well, the gyn said he'd be in the office till 3 today and if not tomorrow   I knew he wouldn't call back today darn it! I will tell him my pcp had the results last tuesday but wouldn't share them, hopefully he'll be shamed for not calling last week when he got the results!  The last 2 times he called at 8 am, so I figured he would this time too (  Hope that doesn't mean he calls the good reports in the morning and teh poor ones in the afternoon   SHOOT!  GREAT!  Now I'm worried!

The only thing I could get out of the techy that day they did it,was that my endo stipe had increased by double.  While that's not good, it was still under 5, so who knows what he'll say to do now! HATE THIS DANGED WAITING!  Specially when I know he the results LAST WEEK!

Rats, Patrice.  Just posted on your other thread.  B9 thoughts go out to you & to Wish.  And by the way, could you have your doc, who seems to understand the virtue of speeding things up, call Wish's doc & tell him to get his thumb outta his butt?
