My mother is experiencing severe pain at her tumor site. She is very uncomfortable.  The doctor prescribed percocet but my mom is reluctant to take that.  Has anyone had any success with treamtent that provides pain relief at the tumor site?  My mom is in her second set of neoadjuvant treatment. Her first set did not shrink tumor and she is getting discouraged.

Thanks

I have constant pain at my tumor site (Even though I had a mastectomy).  My cancer has continued to spread into my skin and soft tissue, and ribs, and shoulder, humerous, joints bones etc.  I am constantly having my pain meds adjusted, and I started taking Oxycontin which is like time release percocet.  Sometimes I have breakthrough pain, and then I will take a Perc.  Talk to her dr.  There are enough drugs out there, that she shouldn't be in pain.  I know I was hesitant to start taking pain pills (for many reasons) but I am so over that and it is so nice to get pain relief!!!!!!
