'The China Study'
A friend gave me this book by Campbell & Campbell recently and I found it really interesting. Has anybody else read it? Would like to hear your opinions.

Just started reading it myself!

I have read this book twice. It has changed my life. He speaks the truth but many people just don't want to hear it. It tells what foods are cancer promoters.
I am actually going on a cruise in March and Dr. Campbell is a featured speaker. It is a holistic cruise and I am looking forward to it.

Hi Lisa and baywatcher,
It's difficult to argue with what Dr Campbell says. The information is based on a wealth of scientific research. It all makes sense to me. I can imagine that this would be hard for a lot of people to accept as it would mean a pretty radical change but the benefits are worth it. The meat and dairy industries would hate too many people to read this book!
Baywatcher, the cruise sounds wonderful. Would love to hear all about it when you return.

Ebann,
Thanks for the URL. So, would you all say this is sort of it, in a nutshell?
"The findings? "People who ate the most animal-based foods got the most chronic disease ... People who ate the most plant-based foods were the healthiest and tended to avoid chronic disease. These results could not be ignored," said Dr. Campbell."

Read Chris Materjohn's refutation of THE CHINA STUDY here:

Campbell tries to rebut his critic by saying he is too young. Personally, I found the book filled with sloppiness and factual errors about hormones. But the book has developed a small cult following despite the facts that he ignores the cultures which thrived on animal-based diets. Campbell just totally "cooks the books" by ignoring the facts.
Weston A. Price did a wonderful book years ago looking at the tradtional animal diets people ate and how healthy and solid their bone structure was. The Weston A. Price foundation just had a fabulous conference in San Francisco.
