Hey, girls.... Mary, so sorry you couldn't import that fine weather back home. They won't let you take ANYthing on planes nowadays. I hear you about the toolman's aches and pains. My dh has been off for three weeks on the dreaded workers comp for his back. It takes forEVER to even get an appointment for anything. We had to go to Austin last week for one appointment, and it was worthless. Hopefully, one of these weeks something will get done.

Janie, I hope you have a relaxing break from school. Lots to do? Puh, don't be silly.

Another friend of mine was just diagnosed with bc. About my age, 1cm. That's all she knows so far. She has a CT this week to make sure it hasn't gone anywhere else, and THEN talks to the surgeon. Blech.

No bites on the paper yet, as far as we know. But everyone's on pins and needles.

P.J. hope your friend gets some good news. Good luck to hubby with his back. Wow, thats a bad part of the body to hurt. Workmans comp sucks. I would love to pack up some sunshine and bring it back home but thats probably like transporting fruit, forbidden. Janie whats up girlfriend? You must really be busy.Well my printer isn't working. It prints but will not scan and e-mail. I am fed up with trying to figure it out and I am sure it is some little thing I can't find. Well, I better get so you girls have a great day. Hugs, Mary

Now I have to go with my grandaughter tomorrow for grilled cheese with eyeballs and gooey pudding with worms and I can't remember the rest but it is a Halloween lunch. Oh how good it all sounds. Wanna come girls? I double dare yous! Hugs, Mare

    Hey ladies,

Did you all have many goblins?  I did not have as many as last year.  Another week winds down.  I am glad it is the weekend.  I should not wish my life away.  Mary, I figured out I have about 646 marbles left, if I am lucky.  That really puts it all into perspective.

Our schools do really good for the Thanksgiving and Christmas lunches.  But that is about all that is good for the whole year, except on the days they do bag lunches for early release or something.  Not much you can do to a PBJ sandwich.  Actually, it is not their fault.  They used to serve really good food, but now it is dictated to them as to what they have to serve, and I am guessing, they are cutting corners on the suppliers, just like everyone else.  My elementary school used to make the best stromboli I have ever had, bar none.  But they have not made that in years.

    Have a great weekend ladies,

    Hugs,  Janie

Hey girls, hope it is a good voting day for all of us tomorrow. Janie, our schools use to make their own food and our Catholic still does but the public schools don't and the food is shipped in. Toasted cheese has no use after about 10 mins. out of the pan and my school toasted cheese on Fri. was so hard I know why they served veg. soup with it. You had to soak it to eat it not dunk it, soak it and you serve tomoto soup with toasted cheese what the heck is that?, veg. soup with toasted cheese!. God knows what kind of chemicals they are serving in the meat and vegs. because they are probably from other countries. I always read canned stuff to see where it came from because a lot of canned meat comes from other countries especially if it is bought at a discount store. I don't buy canned meat for that reason, I read a lable at my sisters one time, just bored,  when she was using canned beef and I had never used canned meat except tuna and I have never used it since. I don't trust other countries regulations of what can go in a can. Our schools food comes from the same place that prepares the hospital food for a few towns and cities hospitals around here so there it is, yuk!!  Well, the weather has been unseasonably warm but along about Fri. it will go from 70 to 40. Burrr!!!! Thats just not fair. Toolman is fishing like he means it every day. He went to an auction Sat. and bought fishing junk he will never use. He thinks he got a bargain but my idea of a bargain is, don't buy it if you won't use it in 6 months. He won't live long enough to use all his fishing crap. Oh Well, he fishes like he "fixes". Have you ever heard me say he caught a really big fish? O.K. he caught 2 five pounders lately but thats a fluke. You never hear me say we are frying up a mess of fish huh? O.K. we have had some fish in the freezer but I hate to fry fish, it is soo messy. The other day toolman asked if I would fry the fish if he brought it home and I kindly replied you can fry fish any time you want to but you have to clean up after and he hasn't brought any home, just pictures of them before he throws them back. Now is it any wonder this man loves me? I have fried many a fish, frog legs, turtle etc. and still would if I feel really compelled but I just .....am lazy now. Thats just the truth.  Well, I better get. Have a great day girls. Hugs, Mare

Gosh, Mary, I don't think I've fried a thing in my life. Hot oil scares me.

So I actually voted two weeks ago. That early voting is so convenient. Now, just the fun of working yet another election night. (Which is much better than not having a job to work election night, I guess). I'm so nervous, I can barely stand it.

There didn't seem to be as many trick or treaters  or trick or treatees this year. I don't know if it was because it was Friday (high school football night, big deal down here for lots of folks) or they were all at "festivals" or what.

Mary, Nathan has pretty much completely quit eating school food over the last few years. Just too gross. I can count on half a hand how many times he's eaten cafeteria food in the last three years. Although I can't claim he always eats nutritious food. For some reason, he LOVES that canned ravioli. Let me tell you, dealing with the smell of that cooking at 7 in the morning — well, obviously I love him a lot.

Happy election day, girls. You can get free coffee at Starbucks if you tell em you voted.

Well, don't feel yukked out alone P.J., I have a son that loved ravioli too. It does smell horrible. I hope whom or who, (help P.J.) , ever gets Pres. brings about a new world respect for our country and change. I too am anxious. I am affraid another 4 years like the past 8 and we will be in a heep of trouble. Well they just said 15 states projected and Obama has all but 2 or 3. I will be watching. Well later girls, good luck to who or whom ever you all vote for.Hugs, Mare

Hey Janie, Springfield is happy with the fact of the Lincoln and Obama connection in Springfield however it is a Rep. city. My county is a Dem. county and always has been but it went more Rep. this time. How awful but it is a very narrow minded county. I think he may just be good. I could not imagine Sarah Palin in office. I think it was shallow to think females would vote for her just because she is a female (Hillary she is not) and I heard men talking about voting for her because she was hot. I heard a man in a restauant say Sun. before election "I am voting for Palin cause shes a pistal" what the heck?  I have no idea what year of grade school  he finished before he dropped out but he needs to go back and study a little harder. I do however feel she was pushed into something she had no idea how to handle and she did try to make it work. I feel sorry for Obama because he has such a long road and there are those that will expect him to get it all "fixed" right away. I have to get some jewelry made as we are doing a couple shows so I will talk to ya later girls. Hugs, Mary

Mary,  I guess it is time to wait and see what happens.  Sort sounds like the story of our lives these last almost five years.

Went into the GA mountains today.  The leaves are breath-taking.  Had a good little get-away.  I needed it.  This week will be totally insane at work.

    Hugs to all,

    Janie

Hey Janie, glad you had a nice ride. The leaves are turning here and they were beautiful until the rain set in. Our yard is a mess of wet leaves and they are deep. Hubby mulched them twice last wk. Today I had to take my dad to a sono of his kidneys to see blood flow. It is butt bitting cold with this rain. There were a few flakes of snow yesterday a.m. You tense up from the cold and your bad bones and muscles hurt. I hate to even go outside. Well I better get. Hope you have a good wk. We are out today for Vet. Day. The grandkids were here earlier. I hate being inside soo much. Later, Mary

So Janie, Can you dance too? I love to dance but....when I do it sounds like Rice Crispy cereal. My bones pop and crack. I have watched that a few times a while back it was prety good. Yea, the Hollidays are edging up and OH;  I heard on the news there is a vacine for Her2 they are trying out on a gal. They have found Herceptin only works for a while and you can do the vacine which causes our imune system to attach the cancer. Well there are 6 shots and the gal is on 3rd. or 4th. and it will keep the cancer at bay for another 8 years possibly. Hers was in the bones and they are not seeing it now.  It sounds good girls. We are very lucky to have been dxed. when we were (with all the new treatments) and for all the people that do the runs and walks and donate. Have a good day. It is raining and cold burrr and light snow tonight. Hope you are all warm. Hugs, Mare

Mary,   afraid not!!!!!!!!  Cannot dance a lick..... have two left feet and the few times I have tried to dance with a man, I tend to try to lead.  Does that mean I have control issues?   Way back when I was in some musicals, I did learn a few dances like the Charleston....... but that was with someone telling me the exact steps to do.

I do enjoy that show however, and can appreciate those who do dance well.  Wish I could do that.  Maybe some of this blubber would dissolve.

I read up on the vaccine after reading your post.   Yes, we are lucky to have been dx'ed when we were.  Those who came later are even luckier.  Perhaps someday nobody will have to have surgery or chemo and will not have to put up with lymphedema and other things, and most importatnly will not die from the beast.

It is supposed to be cold here all week.  That will be a change.  I have not had to wear a jacket very often yet.

     Hugs ladies,

    Janie

Janie, Toolman would say I too have control issues but I don't think so, I just like to make sure everyone is on the same page....My page!  Just joking but it is kinda true, o.k. it is but I am always right. I will be the first to admit that. Joking again. You really have to be in shape to be a dancer.  Hey you did musicals? How interesting! That had to be a blast but a lot of work! Wow musicals are really a lot of memory and cues. You are one hot chick. Well hi out to Paula and hope you are still biking around Texas. Hi to N.L. Oh, we had snow today but didn't stick. Hey, good news on that vaccine. Now, if they come up for one for nonHER2, that'd be good, too. You're right. I wish I'd waited, oh, 50 years to be diagnosed. But alas..

Well, tomorrow starts 4 days (or nights) of musicals at Nathan's school. They do it every year and they've pretty much not been doing any school work for a couple of weeks - just rehearsals. Should be interesting. I've got to be "hall monitor" tomorrow night. Blech. But just doing my part.

The cool weather's finally coming down here this weekend, allegedly. I'm not looking forward to it.

     Have a great Thursday!

Mary,  nothing wrong with that.  when you're right, you're right.

PJ,  How well I remember "Mama duties" at the schools.  I bet you will really like the shows though.

It seems they are coming up with many cures and preventions for various types of cancers and various types of breast cancers.  That is great.  I hope they hurry find ways to help everybody on all accounts.  A good friend of mine is fighting colon cancer and having a rough go of it.  It still seems to be rampant, but maybe some day soon.........................

Don't freeze your hinnys off ladies,

    Later,  Janie

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

We had turkey tonight with all the fixins.  Tomorrow, we will feast yet again in Athens with my Dad.  My clothes are too tight already.

Great going Mary.  Good luck with the crafts.  Know anybody who needs a psych eval?  I am in the beginning stages of opening a side practice back up like the one I had before BC reared its ugly head.  Trying to find a way to retire before I meet St. Peter.  Would hate for him to hand me my last pay check.  I had a late start so no way I will go the 30 years that most educators do.  Can't afford to retire on the partial benefits.  The economy may prevent people from paying for private evals right now. Oh well, we shall see how it goes.

Everybody enjoy tomorrow.  Gobble gobble ladies,  Janie

Hope all is well with your dad Janie and you had a good trip and did not eat too much. Right, like we would do that on Thanksgiving. Glad you are getting that practice going. I am really glad to hear that. We are going to hit Macy's tomorrow and get a few things. Walmart has some good buys too. Have a great evening girls. It's about time to hit the pumpkin pie and whipped cream. Hugs, Mary

Hey Mary!  Find any good bargains?  I did not even venture out into that world.  The TV news showed people sleeping on the sidewalks waiting for stores to open as early as 4 and 5 a.m.

I cannot think of anything I want that badly.

It is a dreary, rainy day in GA.    TN plays its last game under Fulmer tonight.  Two of my youngins are there.  I did not opt to go to TN this weekend.  I will watch the tube however.  They play KY.   TN hired a 33 year old to be head coach next year.  We cannot go anywhere but up (or maybe stay the same?!!?).

Have great rest of the weekend ladies,

Hey Girls, Its a rain/snowy day in Illinois. We are trying to get hubby's surgery pushed up closer to the end of Dec. but no luck yet. We are on a waiting list in case of a cancellation. Like that will happen. Hubby has talked about putting it off or even getting it done in Az. We are here until x-mas now anyway so maybe we will get out there in Jan. Thats kinda scary with the weather. Janie. I was looking for electric blankets but Macy's has them cheaper on the internet with free shipping. The Mall in Springfield was not crowded but I got there about 9 a.m. They were camped out at Best Buy but I think some people just like to do that for the thrill. I was at Wally for milk about 7 a.m. and they were not crowded at all. I don't get into that Black Fri. crap because you can get stuff cheaper closer to x-mas or after. I had a coupon that was good Fri. so I thought I would use it. I did get my grandaughter a few things but the dam coupon wouldn't work on  anything I bought. Why the he*% waste the stamp to send them? I told the cashier that and that I knew it was not her fault but I had to tell some one. She understood. Since I have to go to Springfield to do good shopping(we only have Wally and dollar stores) the weather isn't always good to travel 28 miles. That doesn't sound far but its bad when it is snowy, icy and windy. The highway isn't populated along the way. When the wind blows it is white out conditions and only 2 lanes in spots, they have never finished it into 4 lanes. Oh well, you surprise yourself at what you can do when you have to. I have to make some wine glass charms for my youngest daughter in Az. and get them sent to her. Later girls, Hugs, Mary

    Hey All

Mary,  I can only imagine how cold you and Nancy Lee are up north because it is cold in the South................... the deep South!

Keep us posted on Toolman and his surgery.

Since I moved I now have to travel several miles to pick up groceries etc., but nowhere near 28 miles Mary.  I did go a long way to the east side of Athens today and went to Food Lion while I was there because I wanted to take advantage of their lower prices.  Publix and Ingles are the nearest grocery stores to me and they are outrageous lately.  There are a couple of Wal-Marts fairly close.... one in each direction.   They are buildling a new shopping center two miles from me.  Actually, it is big enough to be called something like a royal power center (I think ---- chemo brain is setting in again).  So far, I know it will have a Target, Belk, Pets Smart,  Pubix (another one), Staplers and a McDonalds.  I have heard rumors about a Best Buy and a Michaels.

Anyway, be careful driving in all that ice and slush.

    Have good weekend ladies,

    Janie
