Brenda..let the kids come...I think they are old enough to handle
a table to themselves...use what works best...threats or bribes...
We should be early enough to get one next to ours....
First one there put in your name!!
-
yeh Brenda and if that doesn't work--tell them Sister Mary Margaret Sylvia is going to rap there knuckles---aw shucks ---never mind ---kids don't know about that stuff these days.....see you all soon!

Okay we shall be there. Thank you all for understanding. See you there with kids in tow.
-
Cool!
And SoCal, I think I will take you up on your generous offer of transport. If it's really not out of your way too far. Shall we say 10:30?
Lisa
-
Sounds like a plan Lisa...see you then...it is just a hop off the freeway and right back on!!
-
Hi sweet friends, I blew it again! I have not been good with checking in, we just bought a new Prius, and being old, heeehe, it took all the brain we both had to handle such a HUGE change! But we had a good time at the Falls, I will be with you next month, except, we are going on a Christmas Cruise to Hawaii, leaving December 10th. Back on December 26th, soooo, I bet I miss the December lunch. Dang it. But can January be far????
Love to you all, Shirlann
-
Well Shirl..we were wondering where in the heck you have been hiding...
Glad you are OK, just agenda challenged...
At any rate eight of us plus two had a very nice lunch today..
we are glad to welcome jeanne to our group..
-
Another great gathering. I really count on you women!
We have tentatively scheduled for Dec. 21st so that we have enough notice to plan our holidays around the brunch. As Melia said, it's only a 2-3 hour time slot - and we can combine it with last-minute shopping!
Lisa
-
Love you guys. I actually like that picture of me too. Is there anyone here who can help me make that my avatar now?
Shirlann-we though maybe you were out of town. Sorry you didn't make it.
Jeanne-Welcome to the Lunch Bunch. I hope to sit closer to you next time so we can visit.
Dec 21 it is. Where are we going to eat that will have parking that day?
I am so glad I did not miss lunch. The boys did rather well if I do say so myself. I think the table away was a great idea so everyone still felt comfortable talking. I just hated leaving early.
-
Loved seeing you all again today---hoping those who we talked about today---those we have not heard from recently--know that we are concerned and care how they are and will see these posts and let us know how things are going or better yet-- join us!
Again-Liz--thanks for the prompt pic,sylvia

I am sorry to report that Jodi passed away on November 13. I checked her MySpace page today b/c I've been worried about her, and one of her friends had posted there about her death. I will look for the obit and try to post it.
I don't know what else to say.
May she rest in peace.
-
It was great meeting those of you who attended today's brunch/lunch! I look forward to next's month gathering and getting to know each of you. In the meantime, Happy Thanksgiving to all. Enjoy all that good turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie! Yum.

May Zoey have memories stored in her head of her mother who loved her so. I just had a feeling and I was right. So sad. Bc just takes the life right out of you. Rest in peace dear friend.
-
We all are so sorry to hear about Jodi and of course hope that Zoey will be well taken care of..
Jeanne..it was so nice to have you join our group..
BMD..will this help at all
-
Thank you SoCal. I got the one you emailed me. I really like it. I will have to come back later and change my avatar.

For Zoey
-
Beautiful and perfect for that sweet innocent baby girl... my god this has to stop with our generation.....
-
Liz - a perfect way of expressing how we all feel about Jodi and Zoe. Pictures do replace untold numbers of words. The first time I met Zoe, it made me so sad - here was a little girl who was going to grow up without a mother. She may not remember her, but she'll have the pictures to show how much she was loved.
Brenda - the kids are great - never worry about bringing them. You may not get to relax as much, but they are sweet guys. Even if the 7 year old is as tall as I am ...
Sylvia - getting mad with someone is the best. I feel much better today (could also be the vodka I had last night, but I'll take anything I can get)
These lunches are a life line - for three hours, I got to put the anxiety away. Thanks you guys.
-
I posted a link to Jodi's obit over on the mets board. There were obits in both the nctimes and Union-Trib, but neither one mentioned services.
Thank you, Liz, for the photos you posted.
-
This was posted by Jodi's father over on the mets thread:
Thank you all. There will be a memorial service for Jodi on Saturday, November 29 (her birthday) at 3:00 PM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 925 Balour Drive, Encinitas, CA 92024. You haven't heard from her since August as she entered the hospital at the beginning of Sept, was out for only a couple of days. She came home last Monday, saw Zoe, smiled, and then became comatose. She passed away on 12 November at 8:46 PM. She was a fighter. I too hate this disease.
Love to all,
Jodi's Daddy
I unfortunately will be out of town for Thanskgiving and can't attend the service. Wanted to make sure you guys knew about it, though--it would be nice to have a bc.org contingency there, offering respects.
-
Ohh, I'm going to be in San Francisco myself for the whole Thanksgiving holiday. Hoping a non-traveler or two can take a piece of afternoon though.
Lisa
-
I will be out of town too - Savannah for me.
-
I am suppose to work at a fund raiser for school in Encintas over that week-end. I can try to schedule my time around it but I was suppose to be there Sunday.
-
Hello all--haven't posted for a bit---it has been touch and go for about 3 weeks for my Uncle Winston Brockner and he passed on Weds in Denver....he lived a wonderfully, glorious life--to 93-- 68 yrs married to my Aunt Sylvia---no children of their own but four nieces that adored them (and some nephews on his side!)----so I may be going to Denver---having a memorial service Dec 6th---but I have to go on a conference that next week ---so we'll see. In the spring or early summer they will take his ashes up to the top of Mt Evans to scatter and I may wait and go then.
Hope you are doing well Lisa and is anyone planning on going to Jodie's service?
Sylvia

Hi Sylvia...so sorry to hear about your Uncle..
It look like we all have a busy month ahead doesn't it...we will all need our running shoes...
Today I went to a renewal of wedding vows...a Scottish group with a flair..49 years..wonder
why they didn't wait til 50, but what do I know...she isn't in the best of health so that might be
it...but it was fun and they even had a bagpiper there...everyone looked lovely in tartans...exept me ..
I don't have one a tartan that is...I have a clan...the Anderson's...
anyhow this man really played well and brought many a tear to some eyes..
-
Happy Birthday SoCal. Love ya.
Sylvia-I am sorry to hear about your Uncle. I know it was a troubling situation for you.
I don't think I will be going to Jodi's service. I have a commitment for my kids school that day in Encinitas but the time block is about the same as the service. It is at a restaurant and bar so I shall toast her memory and damn this disease all at once.
-
Hello--Love that plaid Liz---what is it??
I have many plaids that I like and made a few vests thru the yrs---In fact made about 5 with - I think the red tartan plaid and NAVY(as in military--not blue) buttons down the front from my Dad's uniforms---
Ok-- on the service--I may go ---not sure---and how is Lisa---we need to hear from you--I have checked on the other threads and seen your notes Lisa about people not know what to say----and mea culpa....but want you to know I'm thinking about you......
Happy Thanksgiving to ALL that see this post!
Sylvia
-
Thanks for thinking of me, Sylvia. You all don't count when it comes to not knowing how to react to my funky 'news' - don't worry for an instant. You all are there for me. That is priceless.
Meanwhile I can't stop eating - I'm ravenous. Damned Decadron!
Lisa
-
Lisa - I'm confused - on one of those posts you listed a whole bunch of tests for early December but not the gamma knife surgery. Has that been put off.
Sylvia - sorry about your uncle. Just one more sucky thing to be angry about. We can have virtual drinks together. My doctor did some tests & found out I'm very hypothyroid - maybe the thyroid replacement will make me less angry. If not, there's always vodka.
Liz - yes happy birthday!
Brenda - don't worry about not making Jodi's service - what is important was that you were there when she was alive.
-
Ha---yes-- Vodka is good---but I do not think it replaces thyroxine!!! I don't normally look at these things Susan but I noticed that you are coming up on your 1st anniversary....time flies, huh?
Have to tell you that I talked to my friend Nancy-who did the 3 Day walk----she was so excited and said she was just so moved by the whole experience.
