A prayer written by a friend

Hi.  I love this section of the website.  I've been reading and reading and can't get enough.  I wanted to post this prayer that my best friend wrote for me a few weeks ago.  It really touched me and I hope this prayer will help someone else as well.  You can substitute my name out of it for any name you wish!

Prayer for a Friend

Heavenly Father, my provider, my Jehovah,

I come to your throne today

with my dearest friend, Elaine....

I trust her to you, Father,

because  I know you love her even more than I do.

I ask you, Lord, to go with her

through every procedure,

so that she is never alone.

I ask you, Lord, to guide the hands

            of the physicians

that they may be filled with your spirit, which is love....

and that they may always touch her with loving kindness

and convey to her that she is one in million....

that she is not a nameless stranger but a much loved friend, sister,

 co-worker, loved one...

I know sometimes we have to experience things we can not understand,

But you know if it were up to me, there'd be no cancer in my friend,

and that she'd be running and dancing and happy always....

and that she'd never know pain or fear.

But she knows that you are the potter, and she is the clay,

and she accepts your will for her Life

and she loves you in such a precious, sacred way.

Help us all, Lord, as we walk through this together

And remind us daily that you are God

And that you hold us all in the palm of your hand

and you reign above all things, including cancer,

Remind us to give thanks for each triumph,

for each good gift you give us...

Remind us to put our trust in you, and focus our eyes on you

            And await the miracle...

Transform us and renew us, allow us to witness your majesty...

                                                        In Jesus' Holy name,

                                                                             Amen
