    Hi Everybody,

Susan, thanks for posting the link on Calico - thinking of you Calico.

I am so happy to read the update on your sister and father Susan!!  Wow, sure sound like a busy Thanksgiving, but also something to be thankfull for.....

I am well.  Started working on my new job 2 weeks ago.  So far, so good.  Enjoying it and still have some time for my family.  First overseas trip coming up in Jan.  Sandra, I'll be in the UK for 10 days, but will let you know my program when I have it.  Will be gr8 to meet you in person!!

Family also doing well.  Had a quick implant adjustment end OCT.  End results looking ok.  Still some swelling, but at least the biggest problem was sorted out.  I compare that skin on my radiated breast to the other one, and it looks like tissue paper compared to it.  Between rads and chemo, I honestly do not know which messed my body up most!!

As we enter our 4th year - wishing clear scans and smooth sailing to the magic 5 yr mark!!!

     Love to all of you!!!

    Hi girls,

sorry, I didn't want to scare you.

I am going in tomorrow morning for the biopsy. Just hoping the onc is right and it is benign per my good blood (but of course googleing the mri results gives me nothing but multiple myeloma)....I hate cancer!!!!

Big news today! My sister's scans show no cancer. She will have another set of scans in three months, but for today, they are saying "cancer-free." There is much to celebrate. Thank you for all of your good thoughts.

Calico, of course here I will be lighting a white candle for you - I am lighting this every day at the moment for my son - I will light another for you Calico.  Do you all remember that very touching time when Peg organised the candle light for Leanne - it worked :-)

Susan, how fabulous to log in at 11.30 pm here in the UK and read your good news - you sound busy, busy but happy.

Liezel - yes please - let me know your schedule - how exciting.  my email is sandra.holroyd@tiscali.co.uk

Well girls, we are all busy planning another holiday - how fab is that :-)

Off to bed now - still rely on a sleeping tablet now and then unfortunately.

    Speak soon.

Thank you for prayers, candle and holding my hand!!!

Onc's office called that bone marrow biopsy is okay, still waiting for more tests on chromosomes but he believes it will be okay.

Red blood was high but might be sleep apnea which is more noticeable (if it is what he says) because I gasp for air at night, no snoring, just deep sleep and low pulse....

    Susan,

yayyyyy, happy for all of you!!!!!

    Sandra,

    give your son my best!!!

Hope they get some holiday spirit down there too.

Had to put my 18 yr old cat asleep. Adopted a new one. He is turbo and soft, no name yet. A cuddlebug with a mission to make me skinny by having me chase him for fun :)

Gina had a good visit, her femoral neck is stronger, no high impact but she is doing well, no pain, happy teen, finally!!!!

Hope you all get to have a good Thanksgiving. I am thankful for health!!!

Hope to see you all check in!!!!

I want an event free 2009, willing to forego presents forever!!!!

Looks like we all have a lot to be thankful for.

    Susan, what wonderful news.

Calico, sorry to hear about your old cat, but you, Gina and your new Kitty have a lot to be thankful for.

Sandra, your son is in my prayers as well for his safe return. I've seen some of his pics on FB and it seems as though he's making the best of his situation.

My news is that at my last onc visit last week she's putting me on a 6 mo visit schedule, which means that when I go back again it will be a lovely warm May day.

    Have a great Thanksgiving!

Calico, that is such good news!!!  So sad about your cat, but sure the new one will distract you a little bit - and such good news about Gina!  We all join you in wishing for an event free 2009....

Peg, I have put myself on a 6 mo schedule as well.  She wants to keep it at 4, but I need a bigger gap.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I know it is an American holiday, but we join you in being thankfull......

     Keep well all!

    Hey Maxine!

Thanks for bumping us up, but what about some news? How are you feeling?

Things are fine in my corner of the world. We went from 12 degrees to 60 degrees in 2 days! I would complain about hat head but just 3 years ago I had no hair at all! Hard to believe!

I have to admit I'm spending more time on Facebook these days (along with other members of our group.)

Breastcancer.org has a profile, too. Do you want to be friends with Breastcancer? It was kind of strange to read that Breastcancer has to confirm you as a friend.

I hope everybody is happily getting ready for the holidays and is not getting too stressed.

    Hi ladies

My hands are still deteriorating unfortunately, and the docs/ specialists havent found a specific cause.  Might be the chemo, might be Ischaemic central nervous system disease...who knows.

I have lost a lot of dexterity in my hands, they are weak, and dont function well.  Im also now getting more and more pain in them..but on the brighter side, I am cancer free :)

much love to you all, and I wish you all a wonderful christmas xxx

So, I was eating lunch the other day. Before eating my first bite, I pulled out my handy-dandy pill dispenser and opened the appropriate cell. And then it hit me, it was December 15th. TWO YEARS until I am done with Aromasin!!!!!

Odd how the side effects are getting less and less, and then SLAM, one day they are all back. Then the next day, I am fine.

My father has had some setbacks ending up in the hospital for a few days. His short term memory almost doesn't exist.  My sister seems to be getting stronger and better with each passing day. My uncle gets worse, and my aunt gets better. This is like General Hospital, but we are a real family.

We all head north on Wednesday. Once again we will decorate the tree on Christmas Eve with our Jewish friends joining in. I make gravalax, smoked fish, and serve with red onion, capers, bagels and some cream cheese. This year I may add some spanikopita and some soup. Perhaps a few special cookies, some mulled cider and a pie.

The kid is a finalist for Teach for America, and she wants it so badly. She has been offered to TA positions for Spring term..... yea... I am proud.

Be well all of my friends... *susan*

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah my sisters.

    Susan,

it is nice to see that mostly your family will be able to enjoy the holidays. I'd love to attend a big gathering again ;)

You just reminded me to bake cookies, I knew I forgot something lol. Munching on 'imported' ones....yikes!!!

We have no big plans this year, just quiet time. A bid more snow would be fine with me even though I know others have to much...

    Peggy,

how is your weather up there?

    Sandra,

when are you opening presents in England?

    Be merry!!!!

Sorry, I didn't post the correct link - here goes.....

    http://www.jacquielawson.com/viewcard.asp?code=1705667837586&source=jl999

Calico - we open our presents in the morning.  When the children were little we always opened presents from Father Christmas when we got up and then presents from family etc after Dinner - I always taught my children to thank those they received gifts from and made sure they realised who they were from; I am pleased my daughter follows-on with our tradition and she gets the boys writing thank you letters etc.

Susan - and so you should be proud, I can speak from experience - you have a lovely daughter and I wish her all the happiness in her career; I will always remember seeing her sitting in the hotel foyer and remember our London meeting fondly.

I am feeling a little tearful tonight, wondering what my son is doing.  We are going out for Christmas dinner for the first time ever, just couldn't face dinner as we usually do with Ben not being with us; I have promised myself not to mention the cost (yikes!).

I heard a saying the other - 2009 is mine!  I am going to try and get some real ‘me' time in 2009 - how about we all promise this to ourselves.

Remembering you all fondly and wishing you all a happy holiday and a healthy 2009.

Sandra, from a very mild UK

I feel for you. I can't imagine having my child in harms way.

Hope your Christmas was still joyful.

Best wishes to all of us, abundance of health and 'me' time

We're on a weather see saw here!

We had an ice storm-beautiful, but treacherous. Then we had about a foot of snow followed by another 5 inches 2 days later. Yes, it was a white Christmas, but over the weekend it hit the 60's again making everything a muddy mess.

    Now it's just plain cold!

I'm looking forward to a new year, a new president, and hopefully Peace, Health, and Happiness for all of us!

2009 is mine! I like that!

    Heellllooooooooo!!

I have been very busy reading ALL the last lot of pages since the last time I looked in on everyone and I kept wanting to skip to the last page but felt I would miss too much if I did! Anyway I am so pleased to find you all on here still posting messages. Smile

Gosh- where to start with me?? The kids are great albeit a huge handful at times! Scott was posted in the army out of town to a place about 15 hrs away. Rather than go with him I decided to stay here. We have been separated for a few months now but are hopeful things will work out. I feel as though the cancer stuff did not strengthen us at all, in fact it drew out our weaknesses and now is the time to rebuild. We are positive and getting along fabulously so small steps!

Toben is still seeing his child psychiatrist for behavioural issues. Liezel- there is so much fantastic information out there regarding high functioning AD/Aspergers I hope you are making your way though the maze. Toben has kind of slipped through alot of cracks regarding an official diagnosis so it is one step forward 3 steps back a lot of the time. We are getting there though.

I am seeing my onc 3 monthly still and scans about every 6. I am due soon for another and I still get insanely anxious about them and my liver "lesions". I am feeling great and am hopeful the next scan will reveal no change.

After the hyst/ooph last May I was prescribed femara. Anyone else taking it? I started it and within days developed terrible neutropenia. I was convinced I had cancer again it was awful. Anyway, it was apparently a crazy coincidence- I had a nasty virus! Since then I have been a little scared of the femara. Yes, I am more scared of the cancer and want to do everything to make sure it doesn't come back but this silly little pill worries me! Needless to say I haven't started on it despite it being months and really really need to. I will though!

I hope everyone is doing great. I was so happy to jump on here tonight and see my fantastic and all powerful September Sisters!! I am on facebook alot so if you don't 'see' me on here that is where I will be!

Hi Leanne, great to hear from you.

May I ask what scans you have?  I haven't had any since 'C' and I am going yto ask for one at my next check - what should I ask for CT, pet?

I am have my days too - I seem to be more worried as time goes on.

    Many thanks.

    Hi Everybody!

Gr8 to catch up on everybody's news.  Enjoy your Mini Susan.  I'll pm you re database....

Sandra, I was in London last week.  It went so quick, I was hoping to touch base but before I knew it I was back on a plane - Just missed all your snow!!  I have to admit, I was glad to see my boys again though.  I have CT 1 x year and chest xrays and blood every 6 months.  I am supposed to see her every 4 months, but I just can't.

Small steps with Connor as well Leanne.  I try to not see the diagnosis, just him and all his gifts and talents.  The problem is that society does not always see kids that way, and he battles to relate to other kids.

I am well.  Too busy to think about the C - but the fatigue still there.  Took ages to recover after my trip to London, still try to fit in a nap as often as possible.  It might also be because I have not had any time for excercise though!

Hope you are all well.  Look after yourself!

    Liezel
