Time frame for Herceptin

I am =currently on Herceptin only--every three weeks.  My doctor told me I have to be on it for a year.  I was taking the Taxol/Herceptin treatment for 12 weeks, ended Aug. 6th, had surgery on Sept. 10 and now doing radiation.  He started me back on Herceptin, had my second one today.

I was wondering when they tell you a year does that include the twelve I already did or is it starting from now?

I forgot to ask my doctor, but I will ask him when I see him again.

    Mine included the Herceptin given with chemo...so my year ended around the anniversary of my 1st chemo.....good luck!

    I am on the 12 weekly Taxol & Herceptin now.  Will have surgery and rads after that is completed.  My onc told me that I will then begin the Herceptin again and it would be a full year from that point (not including the 12 I am doing now).  I wonder why the difference...or could it be neo-adjuvant versus adjuvant chemo?  I'll be interested to see what your doc says.

    I finished 12 taxol./herceptin and started herceptin alone on 9/30/08, and my schedule ends in July 09, so if my math is right, the treatments that I had with the taxol does count towards the year.
