Budwig Diet
Hello. My name is Jennifer. My mom, 66 yr old has been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, her2 +, estrogen +, progestrine -. There is evidence that it has spread to her bones and her lungs. My mother has not been to a western doctor in over 30 years. No antibiotics in over 30 years. She has lived a holistic lifestyle. She has started on the Budwig diet since her diagnosis last month. She is doing ok with it except come evening, her stomach actually turns over the dinner protocol. She says she does well in th emorning, ok for lunch, but come evening, she just cant stomach the food. I am worried she is losing weight and is wondering if any fish or free range poultry can be introduced???? Any experience would be greatly appreciated.
Also, has anyone heard of Paw Paw? She is really hopeful that it too will be benefitial. She has refused radiation, hormones, and chemo, but is will to do Herceptin. I worry it won't be as effective, but I am trying to accept her choices.

Hi Jenlan,
So sorry to hear of your mom's dx. I'm curious, though, how did she get dx'd if she hasn't been to a doctor in 30 years?
I've done some reading about the budwig protocol, but I'm drawing a big blank on what it says about dinner. Also, a dx usually includes a grade, which indicates whether a tumor is slowgrowing or aggressive. That can have a big impact on treatments also. ...and there's different types of breast cancer, some more difficult to treat than others.

Althea,
Her Acupuncturist insisted she finally go get an ultrasound after trying to shrink the swelling for some time. Yes, I know that her tumor is M5 and HER+ so it is aggressive.

Jenlan I've been looking into the Budwig diet for my mother as well. I'm so hesitant to try it because I found very good articles about flax seed on bc and then very bad articles... It's so confusing! I too would love to know if others have tried it or have heard anything good/bad about it. Thanks

My Mommy in law called me as soon as she heard I was dx'd.....she had bladder cancer, told me about this diet. While i haven't tried it, she seems to feel it helped her tremendously in her fight. She is a retired School Principal, and retired head of a Gifted Children program so research was easy for her, she said she really read up the on the person who invented this diet, I believe she said it was a woman...at any rate, this woman was offered substantial sums of money for the rights to this diet, but refused, she wanted it to be kept free to all who needed it.........
My mother in law swears it helped her get rid of bladder cancer.
Hugs and prayers
Deb
