Another biopsy!

My MRI showed an area of suspicion, so I am off to MRI guided CNB tomorrow.  Just wanted to let my LCIS friends know.  I'm pretty upset about it, I went through all of this the same time last year.

Oh Crapolas!  So sorry you're going through this all again!  Nothing is easy, even if you've been through it before I'm sure, so sending many gentle {{hugs}}, prayers and extending a hand to hold through the cyber web while you are in that tube and throughout the ordeal.  Feel our presence there, gently holding your hand and talking you through it!

    Kim,

I called you but just in case you do not get a chance to call me back!  I will be thinking of you all day and hoping for the best possible results b-9!  Keep me informed and hopefully it will all work out.  I hate that you are going through this again!

    Love ya,

    Dani

Kimber-- my first breast MRI showed a 7mm nodule  on my good side with  "slowly enhancing nodurality" that that deemed "probably benign" and said to  recheck in 6 months.  I wasn't comfotable with that, so they did mammos right away and they were clear. My breast MRI a year later showed 3 areas--the original area was now only 6 mm, but they also saw an area on my lumpectomy side and an area between the breasts as well. They again said BIRADS 3 "probably benign", but I insisted on ultrasound follow-up for peace of mind. Fortunately, they were all clear. Then this past March, all 3 areas were gone. So just keep in mind, that MRIs do show up a lot of "stuff" that are benign.  Again, praying you have only benign findings.

Remember, MRI's have an elevated false positive rate.

    Praying for a false positive!

You are in my prayers today.

Hi Kimber - It looks like we received the same diagnosis at the same time, mine was Jan 23 2008.  I had LCIS and ADH and am coming up on a year as well and will be having another MRI in Jan.  Have you been on tamoxifen?  I have been on it since Feb.  I will be thinking of you today.  I too am nervous about all these checkups and tests.  I hope everything checks out OK.

As you probably know, I had 2 almost simultaneous biopsies 1 year after my LCIS excision.  One came back scar tissue and the other was some DH (not ADH).  We're rooting so you can HOLD THAT LINE Kimber!

Thanks everyone!  Yes, Holly I have been on tamox since Feb and have tolerated it really well.

We lucky LCIS gals sure have a lot cookin' in our girls!!!  You'd be hard pressed to find anyone as knowledgeable as we are with all of these terms!  (thanks to leaf!!)

    Kimber,

I'm hoping all went well with your MRI guided CNB today.  We're all hoping for benign.  Keep us posted. You're in my thoughts.

I ended up only have the clip placed - I am having an excisional biopsy on Monday.  Lovely wire placement first.  I'll keep you posted.  My surgeon is great about calling with results as soon as he gets them rather than making you wait until post op appt.

Well, poo, Kimber. I'm sorry you've got to have an excisional biopsy. Will be thinking about you.
