Nicki...I love the maple tree...isn't real maple syrup a gift from heaven??
When I was a kid one of my relatives had a sugar maple tree farm and
we would go there when the sap was flowing..he would give us kids a
bucket of the sap and we would throw it on the fresh snow, scoop it up
and enjoy eating it...but...I do now enjoy having the snow a couple hours
away on top of the moutains...
This arrangement from yesterday was one of my favorites..

SoCal: That description of the maple syrup in the snow sounded soooo good. It is indeed one of those things from heaven. I do believe you have the best weather. You can see the beautiful snow on the mountains tops and have the warm breeze from the Ocean. That I envy. You have to be dressed pretty warm to go to Lake Michigan on a day like today. Some low fat homemade Maple candy just for you.

Sheri: I'm looking for you. Think you must be trying keep you mind occupied. Betcha your playing pogo on the mountains.

Spar: I know your working so when you come home will have a big pot of homemade beef stew waiting there for ya. You can sit by the fire all day in that beautiful lodge you found.

Some chocolate for everyone!

Finish it off with a fine White wine and relax the rest of the evening.

-
Well, dish me up a huge bowl of that stew, hope it is full of only the most nutritious foods available. Hope everyone had a great day on the mountain. The area is just overwhelmed with beautiful leaves of colors.
leaves have such a simple beauty. Each has its own personality
a starry night, another beauty of this world
We can wish upon a star, enjoy the free things that make life worthwhile
-
this is for you spar - a very peaceful mountain
this is my 2nd favorite mountain, Mt. Fuji, a woodblock print by Hokusai.

-

Enjoy the moment, as the sun peaks above the mountains. Hoping everyone has a wonderful day.

-

Some granola for SoCal.

-
Good morning..thanks for the granola Nicki
Today is my fosamax day so have to wait to eat it..
-
Celia..that is a wonderful woodcut...
I did not take this one...

-
I'm thinking of taking a ride today and take in all the beautiful colors - who wants to join me?

Wonder where this is??
-
What beautiful pictures, thank you all for sharing. I had forgotten how much I miss the outdoors- spent summers in Maine, parents took us on "mystery" trips when we were little (they piled us in the car and we found out where we were going when we got there) usually camping, hiking trips in West Virgina, Virgina, New Hampshire, upstate New York. What wonderful memories this has brought back (and on a rather crummy day for me)
Thank you
-
Valerie- road trip any time
-
Livesstrong ~ Is your picture of the Blue Ridge Park Way in Va.... here is
another and it looks like the same view. Just a different time of year.
-
-
Valorie, I am packing right now, I am ready to go on that road trip. that is one beautiful picture. Love all the fall colors. Lisa, I wonder where that picture is too, it looks so dark and cold but beautiful.
EWB, pack us some sack lunches and I'll bring an ice chest of tea and cokes and a thermos of coffee.
-
Just tell me when. Already hear the water slipping past, ducks landing, dipping down now and again to a goody, warm sun on my face, leaves rustling in the breeze. sigh
-
They even had little gardens there

-
Hi everyone.... I am sitting at the bottom of the mountain, looking up. I am happy to see the colours, the animals and the sunshine on the leaves. Sit with me. We dont have to conquor a mountain, just recognize its beauty.
-
-
this is a good spot Mary-lou
I can just smell the fall leaves
-

Hey Dreamer, I'm sitting on that bridge with you and look at the beautiful view. It's back to work for me, so this is definitely a mountain pop in. Have a good day.
Nicki

Past this on my way to the bridge to sit with you guys. I love the fall colors, it just makes my heart happy. It is raining here today, such a hot chocolate, read a book kind of day. Hope all has a good day. I am going to post a picture of my yard and why I like to sit on my porch and just watch the leaves drop but first scoot over Mary Lou and Dreamer. Hey it is nice and soft sitting here on the leaves. Mary-Lou so glad you brought a thermos of coffee to share.

It is hard to tell the colors in the picture but it is my hiking trail down to the thinking pond.
Everyone have a great day.
-
Spar that looks like my kinda country.
I thought this picture was neat. I live near the tracks. This was not taken by me.

Have fun on the mountains finding beautiful leaves, seeing gorgous waterfalls up close and personal and far away. Enjoy the colors, enjoy the water. A hug to all mountain goers.
