I start chemo, yesterday my first day on EC / T (The E is the same as A except E has less heart toxity which is used in Europe and FDA approved it in the US as well lately). It is every 2 weeks and taxol weekly. Is this similar to any of your treatment?

I felt tired yesterday and slept a lot. Today I feel a little better, but still very depressed..pls share your experiences, tips, help.

    Hi Alex,

I see you are getting the chemo every two weeks as well as every week.  You are getting EC and Taxol at the same time.  How many treatments will you need to go through?

Remember this is a time for taking good care of yourself - lots of rest and good food.

Depression is normal - have you seen a dr. about a possible anti-depressant.

    Hugs, JoAnn

Joann is so right.  Make sure you get something to help you sleep and something for pain if you need it.  Hang in there... after you get in treatment things will level out a little.  You will find this weird new schedule you will learn to live with over the next few weeks.

Please find some good reading material from other who have went through treatment.  I found many special things I learned from other's who went through this before me. Try an let other help you as much as possible. Also try and do things that take your mind off the crappy disease.

Hang in there...things do get better.

I will have EC every 2 weeks for 4 cycles and taxol every 1 week for 12 weeks. The doctor says in US they use AC instead of EC because E stands for Epirubicin and it is the same as A except E is less toxical to the heart. I trust what he says.

What kind of things I should eat, do? Where would I get the tips to stay healthy during this period?
