EYE TWITCH?
Making me crazy now for almost a month,, grrrrrrrrrrrr
Right now I am doing the 12 weekly Taxol/Herceptin. I have 4 more to go. Could the taxol cause the eye twitch? Is that a SE? I thought I saw that on here at one time. It drives me NUTS!
LOL

I was on Taxatere, Cytoxan and Herceptin and my eyes also twitched.
-
Yep, I too had the eye twitch with ACT. It was the worst after the 2nd Tx. Had it some after the 3rd and none after the 4th. It is very annoying!!

Hi Laura:
I had twitching eyes while on taxotere. Definitely a SE, along with runny eyes and nose that the onc never told me about!
Not to worry, the twitch will go away once you're finished!
Cheers, Linda

Hey Laura, I don't knowif it is a s/e or not, but I also had the eye twitch, when I was on taxo. and herceptin, and then when on xeloda and herceptin, it lasted for about 8 months or so...Everyday it would act up at some time or other. Not all day but aleast three of four times a day..I asked the nurses about it, and all i was told was that I was probably dehydrated, and to drink more water.. I was also told it was from fatigue..NO KINDING !!! They said if it lasted much longer they would do a brain scan, to make sure it was nothing else, so of course I told them it was gone...It finally went away, but I don't know why, I am on only hercp and lupron now, and haven't had it for a while. I did have all my scans and everything was okay, so don't worry about it being anything else..Weird thing was that it was always the same eye, never the other..Mine would twitch so hard that other people could actually see it, not just one of those fluttering things...And yes it was very annoying !!!!!!!!! Haven't had it for awile now, thank gosh, but i remember it well..Good luck, and hope it goes away soon, just be reassured its nothing else..Hugs and wishing you a quick recovery..KLynn

I also had the eyetwitch--or as I described it to my husband "little things crawling around under the skin around my eyes"--it was awful--but it did go away. I probably stopped noticing it several weeks after the chemo was over. It probably was the taxotere--I had that and carboplaitin. On the up-side tho--the taxotere did kick my bc's butt! Good luck!

Now I would never have guessed that all of you had the eye twiiching thing going on, I always dismiss my s/e's thinking it's just me......From now on, whenever I get a weird reaction going on I'm goning to post here, the doctors don't really have a clue as to which ones are from what drugs... Hugs Klynn

i'm on FEC and have had an eye twitch from time to time but i always get them when i'm stressed so i just thought that was it....hmmmm maybe not
-
I don't know which drug it was...I did 10 taxotere, Carboplatin and Herceptin. Finished Herceptin alone in Feb 08. My eyelids twitched all the time. Drove me crazy. Onc wasn' t sure it was a side effect, but I was! I went away...but now I can't remember when.

Terry - 10 Taxotere! God Bless YOU!!! I just finished 3 of 4; can't imagine having 10!
-
I was had 6 tx TAC and had eye twitches. The nurse at the cance center said it was due to the taxotere. It went away when tx was over.
-
My eye twitch is from stress (pre-existing). It has recently stopped, after about 2.5 years.
-
I'm glad I found this thread, as the eye twitching is making me nuts and my onco and nurse seem mystified. They say its "stress" but reading this, I am sure its an SE from the Taxotere (I am on TCH every 3 weeks.) Just had my 5th tx and the twitching in both eyes is soooo frustrating, makes it hard to read or watch tv etc. Happy to hear it will go away eventually!!
-
My mom is on TC every 3 weeks. She had her first treatment on 11/25. On day 7 or 8 I saw both her eyes twitching. I think it goes away now. You are not alone.

My eye twitch drives me nuts. TCHx4

It has been two weeks since my first (of six) Tax-Carb-Herceptin dates_and this weekend that both eyes have started twitching like crazy. Did not realize it is probably from these wonder drugs! I guess I'll just have to get used to shaky vision.

I have been off chemo... taxol... for almost three weeks... right eyes still twitches... grrrrrrrrrrrrr makes me nuts!

Hello,
I am a 4th year medical student diagnosed with breast cancer in June of 2009. I have been on Taxotere, Carboplatin, and Herceptin since August. I have had continuous bilateral eye twitching for 3 weeks now!! I asked my doc about it and he checked a Magnesium level which turned out to be low. (low magnesium can cause muscle spasms). I thought great! We solved it! I received IV Magnesium on Monday and the twitching slowed down, but today it is back on full force. Is there anything I can do or am I just stuck with this constant twitching until I'm finished with chemo????
-
I had the twitch too when I was on TAC for chemo. Took a couple of weeks to go away after the chemo finished. Made me crazy too -- didn't feel like doing anything but resting and reading or watching tv, but could only just sit and rest.
hang in there.
-
yep. taxol did that to me.
-
I just completed 6 treatments of taxotere- my right eye feels funny. Has anyone had eye problems besides eye twitching?
-
I'm on treatment #11 of 16. I had four rounds of AC for triple negative breast cancer followed by 12 weeks of Taxol. My left eye started twitching after week 6 of the taxol. I've got 5 weeks left.... It definitely is annoying. I'll try to remember to log back in and let everyone know how long it takes after treatment to stop, but it sounds like we've all had varying experiences!!! Ugh!

Hi Jerrib813, Looks like this is an old topic, but maybe we will see some new action with your post. Have you let your oncologist know about the eye twitch?
