5 NEW ANGELS

OK, so the sub didn't do what I asked at all last week. According to the kids, told stories most of the time. AHHHHH!!!!! So, we had to spend this week doing what needed to be done last week.
Oh well, it is what it is, and we move on...
Hope this beautiful Sat. morning finds you all well and walking in sunshine. My little tree outside of my office window is drenched in sunlight and appears to be very content. I've got two classes worth of packets to grade, so I'm taking today to get that done and hopefully get a bike ride in before going to a 50th birthday party tonight. Tomorrow I want to be outside all day enjoying the sunshine.
Take care my Angelwatchers,
SIS Kimberly

Wow. KimberSIS, what a moving tribute. So good to share your story -- as inspiration for others who will travel this, or similar journeys.
Teach away, dear teacher. Teach away.

Norm. I just wanted you to know that even tho the thread has been quiet for a while -- I know that all of us are still keeping you in our hearts.
With the air a little more brisk, I will occaisionally in the middle of the day think of you to my north and realize that you are already closer to the season's changing.
The year continues to march on, by collecting one day after another, in a little rag-tag string of moments.
May you gain strength and energy as you contemplate all that goes thru your head and into your heart.

(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((norm))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Norm, you have survived summer..... when there were undoubetly times that you didn't think you could. You did! One little hour at a time.
What questions are you asking these days?
-
Norm, I absolutely do think of you daily. Wish you would let us know what is going on in your life. So hope you are finding more to do that keeps your mind active. From your last post you sound as if you are keeping busy and making some money. How is the new grandbaby? Do you get to spend much time iwith her? Hope your fall is a good one and hope you can find some happiness in your days.
Faith, read about your drama. Hope it is all resolved. Maybe getting away for the week end was the right solution - a little distance, a little perspective.I think of you often.
My last chemo on Tues! My dear, sweet Elizabeth, (MIL) who has been here so often to take care of me was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer last week.Surgery on Mon. spread to spleen, pancreas and pet scan lit up multiple other areas. No symptons, just went for annual exam. I am just sick. She is 5 ft l in. l03 lbs and a ball of fire. Can't believe it. She is in Fl and we can't go for surgery because of chemo. Just going to have to figure out how to manage this as other than her husband (who is now a basket case) we are all she has. She will begin chemo before she leaves hospital. Please, we need prayers.
God bless,
Joy
-
OH JOY, I am soooo sorry to hear this tragic news about your MIL. Once your treatment is over and you get your strength back, you'll go be with her as she was with you. I just hate that so many of us are being dx with cancer -breast, ovarian, or whatever kind it is, it just seems that more and more people are hearing those dreaded words - I'm sorry to say, you've got cancer. (((((HUGS))))
Faith, hope things are going well for you with your teaching of teachers, and that your grandchildren are well and happy.
Puppy, Norm, Suz, and Deb - Thinking of you and wishing you all a gentle breeze to blow away any troubles or worries you might be experiencing, and a whole big bright bunch of Sunflowers to brighten your day.
I’ve been busy with life. Grading papers, entering grades, doing lesson planning, going to meetings, and walking daily. I’m finally caught up after jury duty, so next week, I can return to yoga after school on Monday and try Cardio Sculpt on Tuesday. I’m hitting some balls on Wednesday, going to the weight room Thursday, and having my weekly massage Friday. Of course, I’ll walk everyday during my prep period except Tuesday, which is a planning day with my student teacher. I’m down to 149. My weight last weekend was a flukeas it went up to 151.5 the next day. I’ve lost six pounds so far, 9 to go.
Scary news. My twinsis’ breast MRI showed a nodule in the right breast. She has a biopsy on Tuesday. I plan to go with her, so I’ll miss 5th and 6th period. I told her that nodule is good, meaning small and most likely encapsulated. It could be a cyst or calcification and not to jump to any conclusions as I’d already taken the cancer bullet for the twins. So, fingers and toes crossed gang.
All caught up. Again, I hate not being able to check in daily like I used to do, but at least I can do so once a week.
Hope all our Angel Watchers are having a great Sunday.
Love to all, SIS Kimberly

Hugs to Faith, I might be in the newpaper . A star is born Angel hug to all! Debbie

Thank you for your kind words and support over the news of my twinsis. Thankfully, the tumor is only 7mm, so it's small. The breast MRI I encouraged her to ask for instead of a mammogram considering our family history, saved her a year of waiting to find it. The mammo they did do, right before the biopsy showed nothing. Had she had the mammo first, her doctor would have given her the all clear, and she would have known nothing for another year, maybe longer. So, that's a blessing. She's working things out so she can have my surgeons, too. I just hate that she has to go through this, but she's got a good 'role model' so to speak in me.
I bought a Wii Fit. It is so cool. I bowled. I played golf. I can do yoga, aerobics, strength training, and balancing exercises and so much more. It’s very user friendly and gets others involved, too. The whole family bowled yesterday. It gets people up off their behinds and doing more than just playing video games.
I’ve got company coming this week ( a college friend) and Greg is gone this week, so I’m the entertainment goddess for the week. We’ll have dinner tomorrow with twinsis, oldersis, and ds and his gf. Then the rest of the week, I’m cooking, I guess.Debbie, how cool is that...being in the newspaper. More details, please.
Take care my Angelwatcher friends,
SIS Kimberly -

Acts of Love..... Giving and Receiving
Most of us are much more comfortable giving assistance then we are receiving it. Giving implies being in charge and having some control, While receiving assistance imlpies loss of control and can be most difficult to accept. You may find yourself on both sides of the equation at different times in the course of being a cancer patient. Focusing on the needs and concerns of someone else can be very heathful for you and the other person. Support and affrimation can give a person the courage to deal with adversity. Charity and altruism is helping others through donation of your time and is not only spiritually rewarding but also, pleasurable.

ANGELWATCHER"S; I hope all is well! Please forgive me for not posting,I check in EVERY DAY and when I learn of someones pain and stress, it seems like at every turn all there is more pain and suffering
.I feel totally numb,I'm afraid to let people in.My granddaughter will be 3months on on tuesday and I"ve only held her once.I can see in Mikki's& Ed's eyes that they can't understand why.I don't have anything left inside of me to give. -
Hi Everyone, Blessings to us all.I had a lumpectomy in 7/08 then last month found anther "lump" right beneath the lymph node biopsy sight.I have been getting IV Vit C treaments for 2 weeks. It has not gone down, but not gotten bigger.Naturopathic doc says its a lymphnode for sure, but not so sure why it hurts to the touch. Surgeon agrees its a lymph node as well, but naturally wants to take it out.She has also offered me the option to have a biopsy on Thursday. I just can't for the life of me put a screaming lymph node under the neddle so to speak.I believe the initial biopsy may be the cause of this and it makes no sense for me to go and go that to my body again.I just can't believe cancer grew back that fast in 2 months. I am hoping that the lymphnode is simply pissed off because it lost two of its colleagues.Looking for suggestions advise prayers and thoughts. Thanks

Oh Norm. I just found your post of several days back. Thank you so much for taking the time and energy to share -- I know it must take an enormous amount of courage to share here with us, in such an open format.
I am so sorry to hear just how empty you remain..... that it's even a challenge to pick up your new baby-gift-child. I can't begin to offer any insight or words of wisdom, I just want you to know that I believe that you can keep putting one foot in front of the other. I believe that you have what it takes to re-create a life, a whole new life.
Please give yourself the benefit of the doubt. It hasn't even been a year yet. I would imagine as that first anniversary of the accident hovers closer and closer, your emotions get even more raw, more numb. I think all of that is to be expected -- under the circumstances.
Know that I continue to pray for your soul's healing. Brenda would be so glad to know that you've found some portion of support here -- among her old buddies. I know that she is proud of you for managing each day, one at a time.
Would you like an invitation to come to Ohio? We have a guest room. Change of scenery and all of that? Don't know that we have any great diversions, but my hubby is always delighted to have some extra testosterone in the room -- as he is often out-numbered.
Norm, do you know how to check here for PMs? (Personal Messages?) I have another hair-brained idea.
we will just need to continue our constant prayers for your support.
know that we all continue to care.
amazing to see a post from our PuppyLovey!
HappyB: I have no advice, but am big in the praying department, will add your decision making to my ever longer list.
Hugs to Footie, KimberSIS, Joy and Suzy, too!
