I posted over st IDC , but maybe should have been here.  Try to make a long story short

Aug5 lumpectomy

Sept 30th Resection and SNB

In between this time I have develpoed a red warm rash on breast  where I had surgery.  Had surgery at upper outer quadrant of breast but rash is on the bottom. It is red warm and swollen. My breast surgeon has me on my second round of antibiotics, but it is still.there  I asked if it could be IBC he say probably not. Could this be from the surgery.  Was feeeling good about my Dx until this I am so scared all over again. I see my surgeon on the 27Th  In the meantime I have to see radio onco and medical onco MOnday. How could this happen started out as a palpable lump 2.5 cm never had rash till about 4 weeks after first surgery.  Any info please.  I am so upset again.

Hugs,

Tina

If the warmth and redness has not responded to antibiotics, It should be evaluated for IBC. You may need to find a doc who has seen IBC before as it it is very rare. The firm way to diagnose it is with a biopsy of the skin that is affected, because IBC involves the skin, does not necessarily have a tumor. Go to this page and click on  inflammatory breast cancer

MD Anderson Cancer center has a great page on IBC. I am trying to send you the link, but if it dose not come through, Google it for information.I developed IBC after a biopsy. It did not go away with two antibiotics, I went to a major cancer center and they knew what it was and got me into treatment quickly. My prayers are with you.

You can PM me with any questions.
