Breast cancer on South Park???

Okay, you now know one of my deepest, darkest secrets. I'm a fan of South Park. The creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, have pushed the boundaries of good taste many times, but I'm afraid they're going off the deep end tonight. I just got my weekly e-mail, and the title of tonight's show is Breast Cancer Show Ever. I'm giving a couple of tours tonight, so I'll have to catch the repeat at midnight. I'm almost afraid of what I'll see. No one and nothing is sacred on this show, and they've lampooned just about every religion. Either I'll be LMAO or I'll be mad. Anybody else watch this show?

Oh boy!  I am a South Park fan, too.  I think I am far enough out in my BC journey that I can keep my sense of humor, whatever they do in this episode :-)   I'll definitely be sure and watch it.  I also can't wait for Sarah Silverman's new season to start tomorrow night!

Another closet South Park fan, but I only watch t.v when "on the road."

This will be one of those rare breast cancer moments that I will be able to share with my 13-yr-old son! He's very supportive about getting things for me, helping around the house, etc., but he's not really into the details. But he couldn't wait to share this with me. Smile

I LOVED IT!!!!!!!! I thought they handled the issue of breast cancer very sensitively (for South Park) and Cartman got just what he deserved. (Three cheers for Wendy Testaberger!) And Principal Victoria is a BC survivor. What a great touch. I'm just tickled.......pink!

My son and I got a kick out of it, too - he's still quoting the "you must get the lump" lines from Principal Victoria. It's always good to share with a 13-yr-old boy!

It was a funny episode - and surprisingly tame for SP!

I have watched SP since the first episode. I haven't seen every episode, but probably the majority of them...cuz I'm mature like that.  I like Family Guy and a lot of the Adult Swim shows too. See? Mature. Wink

It is extremely difficult to offend me, but SP does cross over the line, even for me. Parts of last week's episode did offend me.

    However......

I LOVED last night's episode. Principal Victoria's inpirational speech (see below) and then Wendy beating the crap out of Cartman ("the cancer") was great!

I'll be thinking of that scene at my CT scan tomorrow, and next week's chemo treatment cuz that's what I'd like to do to Cancer...beat the s**t out of it, leaving it bloodied and bruised.

"Cancer is pure evil, it is a fat little lump that needs to be destroyed. When there is a cancer, you have to fight it. You can't reason with cancer, you can't wish it away. Cancer doesn't play by the rules, so neither can you...and you can't listen to what anybody else tells you. You have to be willing to give up everything because the cancer will take everything. Do you understand? When you have cancer, you FIGHT, because it doesn't matter if you beat it or not. You refuse to let that fat little lump make you feel powerless." - Principal Victoria

I love Family Guy, the Simpsons and some of the Adult Swim programming. I wonder if Matt or Trey has a family member or friend who has been diagnosed with BC? I agree, this episode was surprisingly tame and even uplifting, which makes me think they were a little closer to this theme than some of the others..

Unfortunately, they aren't streaming the Breast Cancer episode yet, but I'm going to try to remember to go back and watch it later! Thanks for mentioning this!
