Crepey skin from Arimidex?

I started Arimidex in Feb. 08.  I have the hot flashes, some joint and muscle pain but my skin looks like the skin of a 100 year old person lately, not so much dry on the outside as it is on the inside.  It looks like some kind of arid landscape.  I suppose it's lack of estrogen.  Anyone else have this instant aging process?

    Shrink, I mentioned this to my onc and he had me increase my vitamin C and fish oil, and increase my water intake;

    I think it has made a difference.  Less "gater" looking skin on my hands,

    And tons of lotion, also.

    Is ths stuff the pitts or what?

    You're right.  It's the pitts.  My swollen arm (LE) looks better than the "good" arm because it's nice and firm. Rediculous!

    Old skin.  Yes, I've got it.  I'm old, but not as old as my skin looks.  I'm assuming it's the Femara that's doing it.

    Yes Yes Yes!!!  I have been on Femara for 2 years and my skin has aged 20 years!  Didn't really realize that I looked so bad 'til I got glasses last month and when I saw myself in the mirror I was horrified!  I am now a wrinkled old prune.

    Yes'm. me too! ;(  I was in to get fitted for a bra the other day and I was shocked to see the flabby arms I had!  NEVER had them before BC!  Then this pudgy parts outside the remaining breast? Where did that come from?  I swear I have muscle wasting disease of some sort, b/c even my legs look like old lady legs now! :(  Hate what this crap has done to me!  I was 49 when it started, and I might as well be 70 now! :(  I missed 2 decades to get used to it!  sagging, dry, no life skin :(  Hate it!

    I have been on Arimidex for 1 yr and have the same problem.  I would say due to the decreased estrogen.

    Funny that I'm slow to blame my Arimidex, but I'll be at 3 years in May. My itching scalp drove me nuts for 8 months then I saw a dermatologist and got a squirt on cream for when its really bad. My face wrinkles get pointed out to me every time I'm at a mall with those magic perpetual youth lotion & cream vendors. How can they be so rude and brutal.?!!! Just glad to see this is part of the cancer treatment. I can't wear shorts with my legs so ugly ; they are 20 years older than me in appearance but they still move well for hiking and walking the dog! SO I feel blessed in many ways. Estrogen is so basic to good skin, good heart, good sex, weight management, etc. It's like we signed up for a drain-away youth pill when we accepted our long term treatment. Consider the options...pushing daisies.
