I need help please!
Can somone recommend an herbal supplement I can take every day to ward off yeast infections? I get them on my skin, as well as the 'usual' places.
I'd like a pill as opposed to a drink. Does anyone have any info. about oil of oregano?
There is just too much conflicting info. for my poor brain.

Yeast infections are caused by too much sugars that have fermented. You should try to stay away from anything with vinegar in it and no sugars what so ever. I went on a diet for 30 days and it cleaned my system. It was hard but do-able. Simply put....no salad dressing, no mayo, mustard, catsup, no sugars, no cheeses, no eggs, no sweets what so ever, no breads, no crackers, no rice, no pasta and no fruits. Mainly eat small piece of lean meat, chicken or fish, grilled, baked or broiled. No fry or breading. Salad with olive oil only, and fresh veggies steamed with no butter. Oh by the way, no sodas either! After 30 days, I slowly started eating some of the foods, but I still watch it. I did feel better and have not gotten but 1 yeast infection in 3 years, but that was due to the antibotic I had to take a month ago! So after I take them I go back on the diet for 2 weeks. It helps me!

Check out Acidophilus, I was told by a Dr to take this with the many antibiotics I have been on since Aug 12th. It is an over the counter you can find it in the Pharmacy Dept. You could ask the Pharmacist too.

Thanks. I appreciate all the diet info. but am really just looking for a supplement at this point.
I wil look into the Acidophilus.

I just got a book called "Better Health through Natural Healing" by dr. Ross Trattler. It has a chapter on yeast infections. Emath is right, it has a lot to do with sugars in the diet. Anyway, the book was in the clearance section at borders so you might want to check it out, only 5 bucks and worth it because it goes into all sorts of ailments.GoodLuck!

Start by eating fresh home-created food and less overall. I have had to totally retrain myself but I have lost weight and feel so much better. And it is fantastic on the budget.

Florastor capsules.
My doctor told me about them. I have recommended them to a bunch of people who have told me they were thrilled because nothing else worked.
-
Today a doc recommended the acidophilus, so I'll try that, thanks again all.

www.yeastconnection.com this is a helpful site based on books by William Crook, MD. Have an informed doctor or nurse help you, because yeast "die off" symptoms can make you feel very sick. You might have to go gently.

thank you headed to the link now

Hi all,
I just want to add that in France doctors never prescribe antibiotics without also prescribing acidophilus. It definitely works against yeast infections in all places.
Hugs,
Annie

It's also good for recurrent heartburn/acid indegestion.

I have asthma and have had a long standing battle with various yeast infections becuase of steroids used to treat my asthma. Usually I take a probiotics with six different organism right now during chemotherapy I am only taking a brand that just has acidophilus and lactis in it - (by Solgar- advanced acidophilus plus). Make sure you buy your acidophilus from a store like Whole Foods that keeps it refrigerated and keep it in your refrigertor at home. Heat kills the acidophilus. I would also just buy plain acidophilus (instead of one that has several different strains of probiotics). There is a small risk of infection from the probiotics if your neutrophil count is low. Hope this is helpful.

Acidophalus and other probiotics help. You can get supplements from a health food store. Eat alot of yogurt that has several different kinds of friendly bacteria in it.
-
If you can get acidophalus that is refridgerated at a health food store, it is more potent.

Hi
You can try the cure in the book posted on this side.
I heard that it works.

Good luck to you.

Stay away from yeast breads. Try spelt or sprouted breads. Also, many crackers have yeast in them, and beer, too. Cutting down on or eliminating completely the yeast that you ingest should help.
-
You may want to get the books called "The Yeast Connection" and "The Yeast Connection and Women".
-
Hi gals, I take 1000 mg of Vitamin C, per day, and have not had a yeast infection or a bladder infection for 40 years. Worth a try. Keeps an acid wash in your bladder, which is connected to the "nether world".
Hugs, Shirlann
