today is my birthday and my chemo-versary
I was dx with breast cancer 18 months ago. Last year on my 47th birthday I was getting ready for my last chemo treatment. It had been the year from hell! I was bald, I was sick, I had more surgery that I had to get through. Today I just wanted to write to all of you who are going through treatment to say don't loose hope. Things may seem really sucky right now, but time does have a way of flying by, and soon it will be next year for you, too. Now I have hair (and eyelashes!), I am back at work teaching kindergarten. I had a doctor's appointment today and she said that everything looks great. What a gift I have been given. Hang in there, sisters, and look forward to your next healthy birthday! Comments

Happy Birthday. I'm sitting here, not "feeling sorry for myself" so much as being overwhelmed with the fear of cancer coming back somewhere else. I finished my radiation almost 3 months ago and I can't seem to get passed this constant worrying. I do my best to hide it from my family - but when I'm alone (which is most of the time) I cry uncontrollably.

Happy Birthday and thanks for the words of hope. I had my first chemo on Oct 1st. Then surgery and then its anyone's guess.
