    Hi Jane,

    I answered your PM.

The restaurant is off exit 6 and is right across the street from the Subaru dealer.

12:30 a good time?  That gives us a couple of hours and since it is 5 minutes from my onc appointment, we will have time.

    See you then

Great to see both of you again, ladies!!  he he he--loved our show and tell!!!!

I am up for the City anytime--and Jayne--any time you want to get together or walk the dogs at Mead Park (we don't have to deal with the big dogs at the dog park at Waveny) give me a shout!!

Congrats on your good onc visits, ladies!!

Gerry called me and asked me to speak with a lady who was scared about doing a TRAM--I spoke with her and told her about our "passeretti alumni" lunch, and offered to meet with her for a "show and tell" of my results.  She said she hoped to meet with us at our next lunch as a dr. p alumni--

Gerry was so sweet she sent me a thank you note and a voucher for a free facial--

So, Annie had her swap Friday, so I think these alumni meetings are going to get big!!

Have a great weekend ladies and enjoy the beautiful fall colors!

oops haven't beenon in awhile, but here I am!

    Hi to all!

Maryiz, I had lat flap (lattisimus dorsi, sounds dolphinlike, huh) with a prev. irradiated boob with a big scar and horrible skin quality.  Dr. P and my boob surgeon, Dr. Gadzick from Westport, tag teamed it and I got a gorgeous new foob which even matches in 'aesthetics' from a style view point.  Guy is just astounding!!! PM me with anything I can help you with if you are considering that.

Jane, I'm really happy to know he does great nips, not that that is a surprise to me....he'll be doing that on me after I get the ol' ovaries out in January.  I'm really excited to get the "cherry on top" as one of the recon girls put it.  cute isn't it?

Any time any of you ladies are around, count me in!  PM me and I'll try to get there! November is relatively free except for 3rd, 5th,11th(mammo on remaining girlYell. 14th, 21 and 24th and 26th

All dr. follow ups., my word, alot of those afterwards, huh.

    love to all of you!

Thanks, Annie, they're not too far from me, that would be easy.  How is the scar on the back and does it affect you athletically?  I like to golf and play tennis, would be lost if I couldn't.  You sound great, I am so happy the girls look great. Maryiz

    Hi Maryiz-

Sorry to be so late in replying to you, the scar on the back is kind of alongside the back and under the armpit.  It's about 5 inches long and it doesn't affect a thing, I had complete and total strength, use, abililty.  I highly doubt that it would affect you playing sports, the lat flap is the one they reccomend for a good strong result, and it sure gave that.  It's not noticeable with a bra on at all, with out one, if your arm is down by your side, unless you leaned into someone with your armpit into their face, (which of course, you wouldn't), no one will ever see it.  Some drs. do it horizontally, still hidden by the bra.  I think in my case, with the crappy skin quality, he needed a bigger flap.  But Dr. Ps' practice, is as the name says, "Aesthetic surgery"  He does have a good website with all the info on the various types of flap procedures, if you google aesthetic surgery in Darien, Ct. you can find it and all the info you need.

I did get a "pooch" of kind of a diffuse fluid at the base of the scar for which I do NOT hold Dr. P responsible, as it is the way my body healed.  I will have to have it revised as it does swell and feel weird with use.  This is unusual for the lat flap.

I am really confident in the lat flap procedure, but as you know, no procedure is risk free.  I have not heard of anyone having issues with loss of strength, etc., even on this board, but I highly reccomend Dr. P if you are anywhere near SW CT.  Feel free to PM me if you'd like to anytime about it.  Good luck to you!

    xoxo

Annie, thanks for that information.  I was worried about range of motion mostly with that type of flap.  Although I am not yet to that phase of my journey, I like to be "armed" (sorry) with all of the pros and cons beforehand so I can make a confident decision.  Thanks for sharing, Annie.  Maryiz
