Has anybody heard from Twink?

Hi Traci,
She posted a couple of months ago that she'd had a recurrence. She also said she was opting out of the boards for a while -- she sounded overwhelmed, and I think we can all relate to that emotion. I keep checking for her return too; let's let each other know if she shows up.
Hugs to you too,
Annie

Twink is still around. She hasn't posted since mid-September, but I think she is still loggin in and reading.
Her most recent posts have been in the February 2007 chemo thread "Anyone starting Chemo in Feb?"

Thanks Annie.
Hey Otter, is there a way to search for someone's last post??

Hey Traci,
Glad to see you're around! I saw your hi a week or so ago but forgot to respond then.I had to get off the boards for a few months...I started having major anxiety attacks after the exchange (PTSD...much better now). How goes everything? I'm working on getting deconstructed in December. I have almost as much pain with the implant as I did with the expander...that sucks BIG TIME! Hope all's going well for you.

Hello, all.
I am a February chemo cruiser, and I have Twink's permission to update you on what has been happening. She doesn't have the energy right now to do so...
Twink suspected that all wasn't as it should have been, and pulled in her 6 month post radiation exams to early June. At that time, it was discovered that the BC had spread to lungs, bones, lymph nodes, and liver, but her brain was clear. She did a course of chemo on a really intense basis, had some transfusions, etc. In the midst of all this, she relocated from Philly area to Dallas.
Recently, she had a PET CT which said the cancer had not progressed in the major known areas. She was experiencing some headaches and balance issues. An MRI revealed brain mets, which she is currently getting whole brain radiation. She is about halfway through.
She is not working, and is basically fighting the good fight to buy herself all the time that she can. She is keeping busy directing the renovations on the house that they purchased and getting her kids and pets all settled in.
So that's where Twink is. I hope this helps explain why she isn't posting. But she reads a lot, and does keep up.
Regards.

Leah, thanks so much for the update. I saw that Twink hadn't been posting as often as usual, even on the February chemo thread.
It sounds like she has her hands full, between the diagnostics and the WBR and the new house.
Twink, if you're reading this, please know how much we all care about you and are hoping things will stabilize soon.
Big hugs...

Does anyone know if Twink has done the gene test and if she has BRCA1 gene?
-
Traci you can search for a person's last post by going to the member list and first finding the person's name and then clicking on the person's name...OR if they are here on the boards just click on their name and it will go to theur personal page and their last post is listed......Hugs.....Lucy

Lucy/hollyann, thanks for answering Traci's question about latest posts. I didn't see it until yesterday, and then I forgot when I was trying to find out more about Twink's situation.

Thank you all for thinking about me and for the good wishes. I'm still hobbling around and hope to be feeling a little better by the end of the month. I posted the details on my 'home' thread with the February Chemo Cruisers. Love you all and wishing you the best... I'll get back here more often. (Thank you Leah for keeping the info current).

Thank you Leah;
D----m. Sob...I love that beautiful soul, and I feel like smashing something. It isn't right, fair, or right or fair;..sheesh. I feel sick. I have all the same symptoms...and no one is checking them out.
Twink, you are a beautiful mind. I know how you must have been wondering what was going on with The doctors I've followed you, as you were diagnosed around the same time as myself.
You are in my prayers, songs and meditations. The earth, sky , moon and stars are singing for us all.
love,
Indi

Hello, all.
It is with a very sad heart that I bring you some news from Twink/Twilah's husband, Phil. Twilah has entered hospice in her home, and is surrounded by her immediate family. Her extended family is arrving from California and Canada as we speak.
She is comfortable and seems to be aware of her surroundings and her family. Phil feels the hospice nurses are providing wonderful care.
Please light a candle, say a prayer, or whatever you feel would connect you to her...
ANY UPDATE WILL BE POSTED ON THE FEBRUARY CHEMO BOARD that she belonged to...

My thoughts are w Twink....

Losing Twink came as a shock to me; sorry about the tearful display of emotions; I came to care about her, as well as many others who seem to be fading fast after treatment for Triple Negative Breast Cancer. There is not enough research, fast or soon enough for those who need safe treatments and a cure yesterday! Yes, Twink was/is a magnificent woman. May her spirit live on to see this cure happen one day; (sooner than later). Hope!
Love,
Indi
