Komen Denver CO

Options

I am traveling to CO where my son lives to participate in the Denver Komen.  I did this once a few yrs ago.  It is a great time.  Is there any one out there that is participating also?

    Hi-

I live here and I am running the race.  I have a team and you are welcome to run with us.  We are Rhonda's Stage IV warriors.

    Good luck to you both.

I am partcipating the the Ride To Empower in October.  I was just diagnosed this summer and joined up with three other women in my community who are survivors and had decided to do this.  It's a "century", a one-day 100 mile ride.  I've done one before for diabetes (my son).  Anyone else around doing this?

One of the women I am riding with just ran in the Komen--  we live on Long Island, in New York.  I'm so impressed that she could do this run while we are training for a bike ride!

Good Luck on your race.  I just ran in one this weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the second year in a row.  We had a wonderful time and I believe there were app. 12,000 participates.

Thanks, I am excited to be doing it.  I created a blue t-shirt for Stage IV BC so hopefully we will create some awareness.

Proud of you all for your races, bike rides, it is awesome!

Thanks for the invite.  I created a team similar to my one in St. Louis but only 5 of us registered.  We are Cancer Cure Crusaders.  What part of CO do you reside in?  I particpated 2 yrs ago and really enjoyed it and this year I will get to be with my new grandson also.  Very excited!

He and his wife and my beautiful grandson, Breckin, live in Coal Creek Canyon outside of Boulder.  I also have a sister flying in from Key West, Fla and she and her husband registered to walk also.  What is your cancer history?  I am just last mo. a 5 yr survivor of IDC with mast. and lat flap recon., chemo and Femara.  Wow, how easily I can describe myself in just a few words and abbreviations.  Weird, isn't it.

Hmm, my history.  20 years ago Estrogen +, mast, chemo, tamoxifen.  Cancer free until  last November, metastized to bones and liver.  I thought and was told I was cured!  Now femara and zometa, but I am enjoying every day and feel great.

Last year I raced as survivor, this year I race as Stage IV Warrior.

You are a FIERCE WARRIOR!!  I will look for Rhonda's Stage IV Warriors!  I hope it will be a beautiful day.  I am also taking Femara, I think I said that already, after 3 1/2 years on Tamox.  I am so sorry you've had recurrence - cancer just plain sucks and that is all there is to it.  Someday......we will have a cure!  I hope you continue to do well and feel well.  I will watch this for your updates and who knows - we just just might meet on Sunday.
